‚ĚóÔłŹJacuzzi Closure ‚ĚóÔłŹ
The Jacuzzi will be shut this morning, reopening on December 27th, when the club reopens following the Christmas/Boxing Day break. The closure is unfortunately due to vandalism to the tiles behind the Jacuzzi which has led to heavy leaking.
We have engineers on site today and in the coming days to complete works to the surround to restore your facilities as soon as possible. The rest of our spa and pool facilities will remain open during this period.
... If you would like to use one of our neighbouring clubs during this period your membership in Kingston does allow multi club access.

As you may be aware, the swimming pool and wet spa area of the club has had reoccurring leaks for many years, leading to sporadic pool closures and damage to our neighbor's units downstairs.
To avoid this issue persisting, in a couple of weeks time we will be carrying out extensive works poolside. This will mean that the swimming pool and surrounding wet spa areas of the club, including the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, will be closed from Monday 19th to Sunday 25th Novem...ber inclusive. The rest of the club will remain open for business as usual.
We understand this will cause inconvenience in the short term, but these works are necessary to provide you with a more consistent pool and spa experience. During this period if you wish to use these types of facilities, we would recommend visiting one of our neighboring clubs such as Raynes Park, Epsom and Cheam. We will be rearranging the swim lessons due to take place during the closure (Conor, our swim coordinator will be in touch with parents in the next couple of days) and we will be cancelling Aqua classes during this week.
We are going for the 'belts and braces' approach and doing all the possible works to make sure we deliver on your facility expectations. During the works there will be some noise and the cleaning of tiles will produce an unusual odour which may carry through to other areas of the club, but this is nothing to worry about and is to be expected.
The works will include:
‚ÄĘ Clean and re-grout all pool surround floor tiling.
‚ÄĘ Replacing three meters of cracked tiles around the pool.
‚ÄĘ To cut out sealant joint between poolside tiling and overflow channel, re-apply specialist flexible Arbacol joint to entire perimeter of overflow channel.
‚ÄĘ Install two replacement access manlids and frames incorporating waterproof seal.
‚ÄĘ New seals of a suitable rubber material for the remaining manlids and frames.
‚ÄĘ Underground bunding area within pool undercroft directly beneath the manlid closest to the shower area to incorporate a permanent drain pipe which will be routed to the nearest drainage point.
‚ÄĘ Cut 2 openings within poolside floor slab at opposite corners of the pool hall and install two ventilation fans to ensure that air from the pool hall is circulated in the void area.
‚ÄĘ Install bespoke manufactured floor to ceiling columns above each of the openings. - Each column will be constructed of 316 graded stainless steel and incorporate a sufficient number of ventilation slots.
The pool will open for business as usual again on Monday 26th November.

Reception staff are always smiling and welcoming, there are cleaners all the time wiping the machines and changing areas. It's never too crowded and personal trainer Kristian is great.

Really nice gym. Been a member just over 6 months and enjoying it. Find it hard in most gyms to go in the weights area as I find it intimidating but here it's different. Good mix of girls and guys using the weights and everyone is so nice. And the added benefit of having a spa is great! ÔŅĹ

Nice to have all the DL merchandise on display have noticed at other clubs it seems to be hidden or jumbled poorly :)

I have just joined the club as it is only a couple of minutes from my business in Old London Kingston which means I can drop in anytime. The 20 metre pool is amazing and having the fast lane means I can swim without crashing in to people. Brilliant!

David Lloyd Kingston is great. Simple. The staff are brilliant, always efficient and super friendly. They offer a huge variety of classes, my only complaint is some of them are so popular if I am late booking on I'll miss out. The gym layout itself is in my opinion the best layout out of all the other David Loyd gyms I have visited on my membership. (Good news is if you sign up at Kingston you can also use their racket clubs) so you get the best of both worlds. The atmosphere is great thanks to the members and the staff, I've been a member for 7 years now with no plans to leave.

Cleaners do a fab job, DL kingston is always so clean and even after stepping on a floor being mopped she just smiled and said no worries. Very lovely lady and super clean facilities.

An excellent gym with a friendly face, the best in the area by a mile. It's impeccably managed and spotlessly clean but what impresses most is that Mike, Georgia and T infuse the place with a warm family atmosphere, greeting clients like old friends, which some of them have become. Wonderful.

Absolutely amazing health club, the staff are more friendly and approachable than any other gym I've used.

I like that place....just don't know why did they remove punching bag from room in very top floor......

Since the refurb it's become a lot busier, which is great because there are more classes.



Unfortunately other basic areas have suffered - cleanliness levels have dropped in the pool area and there were no available lockers in the ladies change rooms yesterday.



We are all paying customers who deserve to have the essentials covered, that you would expect in a cheaper gym.

Been a member for around 6 months (editing this review accordingly after being a member for about 18 months)...



PROS:

Really good equipment and facilities, the gym recently had an equipment refurb and a new spin studio. Plenty of machines to use and the personal trainers are always happy to help or answer any questions. The classes are great with a good timetable and selection, I would suggest making the most of the PYE sessions that are included in the membership to ensure optimum form and efficiency for workouts. Changing rooms are good size and spacious, there are always cleaners in there, the showers and the pool area. The reception staff are always friendly and approachable and are happy to accommodate for a little chat and banter. Having been a member of other gyms in Kingston, I feel it is a fair price for what you get and I am happy to pay premium price for a premium club. Considering the location the space is utilised very well and in general I would say this is a friendly and welcoming gym that doesn't take itself too seriously.



CONS:

I had surgery last Summer (2016) and due to the nature of this, I was unable to exercise for 2 months as advised by doctors. I had the surgical letter and my proof of being signed off work too; as this was a scheduled surgery I gave plenty of notice to freeze my membership for the 2 months of recovery time I would need. My full membership fee was still charged despite this and I had to call management several times to get a refund...not only did I have all this evidence, they then asked very personal questions about the nature of my surgical procedure and why it was necessary for me not to exercise following the surgery. I found this very difficult to deal with and I was extremely insulted. If there had been another premium gym this close to my home I would have left David Lloyd Kingston due to how I was treated on this occasion. The a trainers and other team members you see everyday on the floor are wonderful and what make this gym a great place to train, but management need a reality check and some training in client service skills!

The awkward cousin of David Lloyd who happens to live in a beautiful part of the world and have the best resources at his availability but still manages to be kind of gross and inappropriate. This gym has little space and even less equipment than all of the other David Lloyd’s. In desperate need of refurbishment I’m sure the company like it because it’s packed all of the time despite these massive shortfalls. Can not understand why people spend so much to come here!

Very pushy staff who want to get you straight on to the high priced top package . Wasn't impressed at all and took ages to refund money.

High pressure selling

The worse gym ever! If you join there is no way you cancel the membership. I moved in another country, I sent the details of the one way flight and they were asking me the proof of adress when I didn't have one!! I had to annoy my old parents to make them send me a photo of a pack I receved! I not even know yet if that is enough for them. I don't know yet because they are terrible slow in replaing to the e-mails! The courses are always full booked and if you book but you can't attend they punish you blocking your booking page! They increased the membeship feed during the year contract without asking me or giving me the possibility to change the terms of the contracts or cancel the contract. They are terrible! I would never advice this gym!

Racist management , white supremacy type people disgusting. DL is not the same

Normally I would give this place 5 stars but today was terrible. The swimming pool and entire health suite was closed even though we were told it re opens on the 2nd October. I was then directed to the male changing room and all the men were directed to the female changing room. This is not acceptable and possibly not even legal. May I suggest that the club remains closed until all facilities are running to a satisfactory standard.

I would give zero stars if I could. I joined DL Kingston in September. As my circumstances changed I gave notice in November to end in December. For reasons known only to themselves they cancelled my DD in November then immediately started pursuing me for a default of payment. I offered to pay on the phone and was asked to come into the club. I paid up my membership and they confirmed the membership was cancelled. They did not update their systems and have now put debt collectors on to me for money i do not owe. When I contact the club they agree this is there error but I am still being harassed for payment and they seem incapable of sorting it out.

I would give zero stars if I could !!! they are literally stealing money from people and they don't even care!

me and my boyfriend went to take a look and were not even sure to register or not , they told us we should pay 50 pounds each ( 100 pounds for both of us) and then if we are sure just call and make it ok and if not it's gonna be all refunded ! some days later we decided to cancel and they only gave back 50 pounds(took soooo long)and the other 50 pounds is not back yet even after almost two months , we went there and talked to so many of the staffs and asked them to give back the money they received literally for NOTHING and all they say is that the refund t is being rejected by the account manager !!!! terrible people and terrible system , and the worse experience of us here in Kingston Upon Thames!!

I have joined David Lloyd in Kingston

Couple of years ago. But It left me still bitter.

I fall for their 4month members paid by direct debit. After my final month I went to the bank and canceled my DD. I two months after I got a letter from ARC debts collectors

I own them money because I didn't gave them 1 month notice. Because I am a foreigner and my gym membership was only for 4 months I though it will be automatically cancel. They gave me a £200 penalty even I wasn't using the gym. I found this very threatening and really bad service and experience. Avoid!
