Some more dent work - though it’s not often that you can’t get the dent balls underneath the dent. This dent nearly closed the tube and had to be pulled from the outside first so that traditional balls could then be used.

It’s not rocket science but sometimes the little things can make a huge difference to a player. Here I am turning down Trumpet finger buttons. The thinner profile changes the hand position slightly and in my opinion have a better feel to them. Ideal if like me you have slightly smaller than average hands.

Something a little different today. Cutting and threading a Giardinelli Trumpet piece to accept Warburton back bores. Always a scary job when it’s a customers favourite mouthpiece as once started there’s no return!

Lovely to have a present arrive in the post this morning - home made Orange Grapefruit Clementine and Kiwi Marmalade. Thanks Richard - now to go and get some bread for toast.

Something a little different to finish of the day - your daughter brings home a horse bridle that needs a little love - at least I get chance to try out the new buffing motor I recently set up!

Sorry but the shop/workshops will be closed on Tuesday this week as I am taking “the boy” to Worthing for his college interview....

Sometimes change is good but his doesn’t bode well for the future of quality saxes now penny counters are in control 🙁

Dean was recommended by a colleague in Eastbourne Silver Band. He serviced both my flugelhorn and cornet. The cornet also had some noticeable dents which Dean was able to sort out in house with amazing results. Dean is top notch. Will most definitely be using him again
