Loved the professionalism and the commitment of Decathlon! Sharing my experience here as its worth doing that.



Been a long time customer of Decathlon and as expected when my Forclaz 500 shoes worn out after almost 4 years of rugged use, I chose same shoes again. Bought it in Bangalore store 4 months back.



Now received an SMS from India stating issue with stitches (photos attached) and product needs to be replaced. I approached the help desk and informed about my current location and lack of receipts. No problem, they said and replaced my shoes with brand new pair immediately in London.



Now that's I call commitment to customer and quality and safety.. Hats off Decathlon, you just boosted my trust in you..

I haven't even bought anything yet but will be heading back at the weekend.I just went in to have a look around and it is huge and well priced. I asked the staff a few questions and they were superb.

I bought some footy boots (Nike ones) from decathlon but they split after one match. Took them back and was offered an exchange or refund straight away. Was expecting to have to argue and was thinking I'd leave a bad review if they were unhelpful so only fair I leave a good review to say how helpful they were!

very disappointed with decathlon, after going out of my way to shop there, i buy a top not from clearance or sale items only to find a massive hole in it, after contacting 'customer services' 4 times, they tell me i have to go all the way back to the shop for a refund, this shop is very far from me, i will have to spend in as much petrol to get my money back, why can't i post it back? return items are only for online purchases apparently, after abruptly hanging up on me, i am left with a holey top which i have no use for and out of pocket

Well,where to start?......



I was looking for a replacement tent and decided a tent with inflatable poles was the way forward for many reasons. I had seen friends tents with inflatable poles stand up to bad weather well last summer when my poles had snapped in the wind. Also I was looking towards a time when my children may not want to camp with me so I need a tent that can be put up single handed but is also big enough to share.



I did a lot of online research and decided that your Quencha AirSeconds Family 4.1 xl looked good and was within my price range.



Being a seasoned camper I did a "test run" before going away with my son last week. I checked the guys,nylon,zips,"poles". Put it up amazed at the speed of pitching and took it down again. I have no garden so could not leave it up overnight to test it further but as it was a brand new tent surly it was ok. Right?



WRONG!



I had a 2 night trip with my son planned. So on Wednesday morning we set off for Rue Hill Campsite (Near Alton Towers).



We arrived at the site at around 13.00,pitched and unpacked. It was raining. As we had a busy day booked for Thursday (Alton Towers baby!) we cwtched up inside playing card games.



The weather cleared around 16.00 so we moved outside. At around 17.00 i glanced at the tent and something didnt look right. The front pole was great. The back pole was great. The middle pole was not!



It was deflating! Assuming we had not secured the valve we reinflated the pole and checked the valve. All seemed good. However an hour later it was visibly deflating again! The 2 other poles were fine so the only reason for it to be failing was a puncture/bad manufacture.



I had pre bought my Alton Towers ticket,and as it is a 2 hour journey from home I did not have the option of running home. So I had to come up with a plan. Initially I considered b&b accomodation but as you will be aware late notice bookings are not cheap.



Then the manager of the camp site (Lorraine) came over. She checked everything over and came to the same conclusion as us. A manufacture fault.



She happened to have a small pop up tent that she said my son and I could borrow. We were so greatful. However when she got it out it turned out to be a one man.



Now I am not petite standing at almost 6ft tall and my 13 yr old son is following in my footsteps. So a 1 man pop up is not ideal for 2.



We decided I would sleep in the pop up and my son would sleep in the car.



As you can imagine the trip was not going to plan. Also by this time it was raining heavily again. Due to having nowhere to prepare food,the rain and the disapointment I decided to make the most of a bad situation and go to a local pub to get food.



Here comes another problem. I am vegan so find eating out is more difficult hence why I always take food with me to prepare. The local pub did their best but chips and salad (basic iceberg lettuce,a couple of cherry tomatoes and red onion) is hardly a treat and not really filling. So I had to waste over ┬Ż15 on not great food. But at least we were fed.



After dinner we went back to the site and bedded down. My toes touching the end of the tent and my head touching the other! Not ideal for a good nights sleep but better than nothing and my son did his best to sleep in the car.



The next morning it was raining heavily so we chose to leave the Quencha up in the hope it would dry a bit before being folded. But it did look very sorry for itself.



After a great day at Alton Towers we came home to the Quencha being dry outside but very very wet inside due to its malfunctioning! I mopped up as much water as I could and then folded it up as well as possible.



Luckily the weather was dry this night and my son and I had a great fire before retiring to our respective cramped beds!



I have diarised my complaint to show you what effect that the fault on the tent i bought from you actually had.



I want a full refund and not an exchange for another tent because after this experience I have no faith in your tents and never want to use one again with the worry in the back of my head that it may have a fault.



Also I want you to take notice of the additional (very small) cost that I inccured and consider how you may be able to compensate me for this(and no a gift voucher for your site will not be acceptable)



I have photos of the tent but can't see how to attach them. If you require this evidence please contact me.

We cancelled an item ordered in store, visited the store who reassured that no money will be taken out yet we check our bank statement and the money has been taken out. We were told that the funds are only taken out once an item is collected. So we have not got a product yet you have our money? This is the problem when you hand your bank details over. Why do I have to reconcile my bank statement to pick up your errors and invest further time trying to correct it? I emailed to complain and received confirmation that a refund will be processed (a transaction that should not have been processed in the first place) but I have been wasting time checking statements and the money is not back.

This is not error but calculated fraud, a large proportion of the population does not thoroughly examine their statements and plenty of companies take advantage of that. I have a long list of retailers, utility and telcomms firms who have tried to scam (yes it is a scam) us. Ironic how their systems never seem to make these errors where the customer benefits. Long live social media where I can publicly disclose such incidents.

Shit service, ordered online for click and collect next day, drove all the way there, 40 minutes from home to be told order not arrived, wait for email, still not recieved email and no idea when my order will be available for me to collect.

Order placed on 10th December. "Promised" delivery date 14th. Still not arrived on 20th. After around 10 calls, finally got through to customer services on 18th who said they would let me know by email at 6pm latest whether order could be delivered by Christmas. No email. No delivery. Unable to get through again to customer services.

I canŌĆÖt believe the way I have been treated by Decathlon. OUTRAGEOUSLY BAD SERVICE!

Ordered a bike on July 8th. Checked my order status 2 weeks later to find it was marked as shipped. Order was never received by the shipping agent. Contacted customer services to see if 1 week prior to going on my cycling holiday that they could still deliver? All out of stock nationwide. On back order from France but will take 7 days. CouldnŌĆÖt guarantee delivery in time for holiday! Advised to place click and collect through their French Website. Confirmed on order screen would be ready to collect on the 2nd August. Email confirmation now states 8th August right at the end of my Holiday. Went online to check my bank account to find they have still debitted me for the original order that they canŌĆÖt deliver! ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL AND THEFT! Charging for products they knew they could not obtain! Called customer services (Rodrigo) to issue an instant return of my money. Found out that it takes 3 - 5 days. No manager or supervisor available to discuss even though their customer services agents are open and working. Requested a call back from management to find that they could not guarantee a manager would be available on Saturday - a trading day!

I would like interest paying on top of the fraudulently obtained money at commercial rates and the fees for missed mortgage payments due to your criminal activity.

I bought a new shimano sora crankset in store and also paid for the installation, a few days later the pedals started to get lose and fell off the crank. When I came back to Decathlon Surrey Quays the manager refused the replacement or refund for the defective part saying it could've been my fault. Costumer service in store absolutely despicable. I had to contact costumer service by phone to and say I'd take legal action if the broken part is not replaced or refunded, horrible experience!

Bought a treadmill from decathlon, the order was cancelled pm the 12 July but they are still holding on to my money!! Tried to call decathlon loyalty team a few times and no one seems to know how to fix the issue!! I would just like to get my money back and I can go to a better company!! Basically AVOID THEIR BIKES AT ALL COST! I was cycling to work as per normal suddenly the front wheel was trapped for no reason. My head landed on the floor, bleeding, sent to a hospital on the ambulance I had a concussion for 2 weeks. They refunded my bike and said they would keep it for examination and diverted all my communications to Zurich Insurance for defect claim. They took almost 3month to get back to me and the bike examination report shamelessly claimed there were no defects in the bike! This is outrageous. Although defective products appear occasionally and I might have been unlucky the way they handled the situation, covering up their problem is basically unacceptable.
