Good to see the gunnera is coming back after being hit hard by the earlier frosts.
The gunnera is sprouting once again. Remember the photo from last year? Conor has commented on this time of year about Blagdon Water "the grass cutting and photo opportunities are endless!"

Painted Lady saw her first guests arrive Monday 8th April to start the 2019 season. She's beaten her sister to it! We can only look forward to a sunny and cheerful 2019 season.

In this episode of Blagdon Water Confidential we see a delivery of fresh Rainbow Trout come from Exmoor Fisheries to the lake ahead of the hot summer days of 2019 ! The trout are all looking very strong and able for the coming season. Get your rods out and get casting!
Another frosty morning, the lake is very still at the moment. Well, apart from when the geese land on it. The photo was taken between Painted Lady and Swallow Tail, this area is a place where birds have been known to rest.

Hello! Apologies for the long absence. It's amazing how quickly time goes by! Winter is here and the boats are tucked up in bed enjoying a long deserved rest after an amazing 2018. The weather for the summer of 2018 was stunning, as you are probably aware. Like anything, the boats need their love and attention. You have given them much love, attention and appreciation over the years and they have certainly benefited from this. This clearly shows in the guest books 😃 the st...ories you have left in the book are very rewarding to read. Your photos are very much appreciated and help to highlight the natural beauties and aspects of Blagdon Water. Just this morning I saw two deer run across the road in the woodland. We still occasionally get visits from the Canada Geese, which, as you are probably aware, like to make their presence known!! I have sometimes woken at six am to hear them fighting on the lake.
We look forward to seeing what the 2019 season will bring.

Hello lovies! How has the summer been for you so far? We've certainly enjoyed the glorious hot, long and nice days. Whether it's been sitting outside watching the ducks fly over and land on the lake, hearing the grass hoppers or even seeing deer from time-to-time; everything in nature and around Blagdon Water has been alive and full of sound... and it is very much so still. We're still enjoying the weekly trips up to Bude for a swim as the sea is still warm from the hot days.... Blagdon Water is still loving the summer as it comes to a close (even though it's September it still feels like summer to us!).
Here's another sunset photo. Blagdon, after all has been blessed with them.
This will certainly be a summer to remember.

Everything is in flower. Everything is competing with the already intense competition. Lawn mower is out (and has been for the last five weeks!), fish are jumping (and being caught!) and just recently we've seen a mother duck with her nine ducklings. 😀🤗👌 #summer #bringonthesummer Dermot has also been making good use of the sea with the stunning weather, going to Bude every morning.
Conor having a fishing lesson with cousin Andy on a beautiful Friday evening. Overall they (once Conor had learnt the basics!) caught about six.
