Dilly'S Delights

So very proud of this fab group of 6 to 10 year olds and the amazing cupcake decorations they created at yesterday's vintage cup cake decorating birthday party in Islington. Beginner to professional standard in a single afternoon. All decorations made by hand - fabulous work!!

A week of all things cake with deliveries for lots of lovely people, as well as our special little boy's birthday, coupled with over £800 raised in our Charity Vintage Afternoon Tea and Bake Off. Huge thanks again to all those who supported our fundraising for the Toilet Twinning Charity. A few photos attached!

Balloon themed birthday party at Grove House.....how fabulous is that bubblegum balloon wall?!!

We were so pleased with the cakes which Mary made for our daughter's 18th birthday party. We went for cupcakes with a crown on each one and they looked as great as they tasted. Lots of people complimented us on them. And Mary loaned us the use of a cup-cake stand so they looked so pretty, all stacked up. Mary made lots of helpful suggestions during the process - I had never ordered cakes before, so it took a lot of the stress out of it for me. And delivery was punctual and everything arrived safely.

We have had three cakes made by Mary now - for three different birthdays. They have each been superb. Clearly they were all beautiful (the photos on her website and Facebook page are testament to how amazing her cakes look). But equally important, they tasted fantastic - light, moist and fresh. Absolutely yum yum. Plus there is the added bonus of dealing with Mary herself: she is kind, always cheerful and bends over backwards to help. It goes without saying that she listens carefully to the brief, offers advice when necessary, and arranges safe delivery. Just excellent, tip-top service!

We had our first cake from Mary today and we will def be ordering some more. Jack absolute loved his Thomas cake, looked amazing and tasted great. Everyone wanted seconds of this chocolate to take home! Thank you so much for a fantastic cake and service. Can highly recommend.

The lovely Mary created our wedding cake. Not only did she patiently talk through what an indecisive bride wanted, but managed to design something original which reflected our quirkiness in a tasteful way. Kudos to anyone who can pick only one of her delicious fillings - we couldn’t so each tier had to be a different flavour. No exaggeration, some guests had more than 4 slices of cake and we received many compliments afterwards. Cannot recommend this kind, talented and professional lady enough.

The best cakes ever!! BEAUTIFULLY decorated (with the wow factor!) and absolutely DELICIOUS. Mary's cake completely made my mum's birthday party. All delivered with a wonderful personality and big smile. Thank you Mary. We'll be back for another soon!!

I spoke to Mary about a cake for my mothers 84th Birthday explaining she liked flowers and her garden. I thought the standard pink and white would be nice.

Mary sent me some great ideas taking me away from pink and white and choosing pale blue . Making a garden fence around the cake with tiny flowers. Then finishing with flower pots and a garden trowel . The pots then filled with soil and flowers. So talented!!

The cake was lemon, extremely tasty and moist.

Will be recommending her to all.

Mary gives you 100% real care achieving an amazing result.



Three weeks later I asked Mary for a cake for my daughter. She is young 23 and bubbly,also odores Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

I asked Mary could she make a large Ferrero Rocher.

She was soon emailing me with ideas , Coming up with a round chocolate Genoese sponge walled with kit- kat fingers. The top of the cake was covered with Ferrero Rocher out of their paper and sprayed gold.

Wow it was astounding! My daughter was thrilled looked at me smiling and said 'Mary'.



Mary you have a great ardour for your cakes and talent for achieving what people want .

It was beautifully and meticulously decorated, with the most amazing attention to detail. It was so perfect, I didn't want to cut it. Mary makes magic with sugar and sponge. Our cake was incredible, a beautifully crafted teddy bear's picnic scene that met all of my expectations for my son's first birthday. The vanilla sponge was moist and perfectly baked. It received so many compliments, we were all blown away by how delicious it was and how beautiful the cake looked. Mary herself could not be more helpful, she responded to every email promptly and with great enthusiasm and ideas. Nothing was too much trouble. I cannot recommend Mary highly enough!

Mary has made a number of cakes for my sister and it was on her recommendation I asked Mary to make my daughter's Gruffalo themed 2nd birthday cake which travelled brilliantly from London to Manchester. The quality of the cakes is amazing and they are truly backed up with a fantastic flavour, the level of detail is insane.

I contacted Mary in a bit of a panic worried that I'd left it too late to organise a cake for my husbands 40th Birthday, she got in touch with me straight away and after sending Mary a couple of images of the type of thing I was after a Lego themed cake, she immediately knew what I wanted and had previously made one very similar. Mary was a real pleasure to deal with even organising the delivery of the cake to the venue, which gave us one less think to think about. The cake was delicious and everyone was so impressed with it most of all my husband who's face was a treat when he saw it. Thank you Mary will definitely be in touch for the next big birthday.

My wife had a wonderful time learning loads of new skills and Mary was a complete star and a brilliant teacher. It turned out to be an excellent present for my wife and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have great fun and learn some new culinary skills!
