What a lovely place, really enjoyed our food it was so tasty 😋 and the waitress was excellent, I’m really sorry I didn’t get her name, we will definitely be returning ❤️

User

Went to the Donkey & Buskin on NYE at lunch time ...service was great and the food was amazing. Great choice of food from menu and the specials board. They had different things on the board like suckling pig, which my husband had and said it was amazing, the flavour was superb and it was a massive plate of food. I had king prawn linguine which had 10 very large prawns in. The chief came out to make sure we were happy with the food and everything was ok. Can not fault the service or food and would highly recommend going. Just book as it was very busy and you wouldn't want to be disappointed you couldn't get a table.

User

We had my grandads wake there yesterday and it was lovely and cosy the staff were great. And the buffet was amazing. Nice and clean everywhere. I'm in the same industry so I'm very observant of other places but I can not fault anything had a really nice time considering the circumstances. Thank you to all the staff. Will definitely pop in for a meal.

User

We had an amazing meal last nite, we live in Layer so we often eat at our local pub and the food is always good but last nite we had the Sardinian suckling pig and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope it’s a regular on the specials menu!

User

Sardinia night was great. Gargantuan portions of fabulous tasting dishes. The penne with pork and fennel sausage was mouth watering with amazing flavours, suckling pig melted in your mouth and the lemon and lime cheesecake was a fitting end to an outstanding meal. Great stake, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to our next visit.

User

Lovely setting fantastic food brilliant friendly staff I highly recommend this pub xx

User

Great food, great atmosphere, proper local pub with fabulous beer garden which keeps the children amused for hours while we nurse our drinks.

User

Great atmosphere for a drink, very friendly & attentive staff! The food is to die for, literally! The best place around to eat out, my favourite venue, won’t go any where else. Absolutely love the Donkey & Buskins

User

Food was delicious, great service from Tracy and a young man, stunning garden all in all a lovely quirky pub :-) definitely returning.

User

Fantastic pub. Discovered it because I was looking for a dog-friendly pub so my rescue dog, Coco, could have a social life too! So friendly and welcoming to humans and dogs - and the food is absolutely delicious, every time. Coco and I go at least twice a week now. Staff always welcoming and have time to chat; chef comes out to say hello. Love it :) See reviews - Facebook: Coco the Rescue Dog - Rover-ing Reporter

Excellent staff and service, a true family friendly pub! Always accommodating and made to feel relaxed and comfortable as if we were in our own home. Would like to thank the staff today especially for making my son really enjoy our visit. You went above and beyond thank you x

User

Excellent service from amazing & very helpful staff ..

first class food with fabulous choice on daytime and evening menu .. A very warm & welcoming pub run by two amazing people who provided a first class service

.. Will definitely pay another visit ..

User

Delicious Sunday Roast. Great roast spuds, Yorkshire, veg and lots of meat. Plus, they weren’t stingy with the Mint Sauce with the Lamb. Order Chicken you get an enormous half a bird. Superb! Would say some traditional puddings such as Apple Pie or Steam Puddings would be a good addition to the dessert menu. Thanks D&B

User

Been here a couple of times now. Only disappointment is when we can't get in as to busy.. food alway great staff welcoming. Would definitely recommend

User

Absolutely faultless from location setting, staff and food! Monday was our second visit within two weeks and we have already arranged to meet friends there for dinner soon!

User

We love The Buskins the main course is always great but would like some more traditional desserts like apple pie crumbles, the cheese cake I had was not very nice it was too sweet

User

A quaint country pub with a nice outside area and garden. We turned up without a booking and were warmly welcomed. There seems to only be one guest ale on at a time but it was a nice clear and tasty pint. We had the lamb roast but they had run out of Yorkshire puddings (not sure how when the ingredients are so simple). It was a little on the expensive side but not as much as the dessert. I chose against a dessert because of the price £5.90; I felt that either it would be too big and I wouldn't eat it or I would feel aggrieved at paying so much for so little. I saw a dessert come out for someone and realised it would have been the latter. The service was faultless. I'd have given a 5* but for the price

User

Have been here many times and usually excellent however yesterday people behind the bar not very welcoming or pleasant although the food was good and people bringing the food outside were happy would think twice about going again

User

Went for father's day food was very poor we had roast which had been cooked several hours earlier everything had just been kept warm, we didn't bother staying for dessert.
