We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Life Kitchen, a cookery initiative that offers free cookery classes across the UK for people living with cancer.
To celebrate the start of the Life Kitchen and Duck & Waffle partnership, we’re launching a special collaborative dish... Introducing the Spiced Duck Doughnut with Charred Pineapple Jam.
... Available from 4th July, this specially designed dish takes inspiration from the signature Duck & Waffle doughnut combined with the famous pineapple tacos from the Life Kitchen classes. It uses strong flavours such as pineapple and paprika which, according to Life Kitchen, engages the trigeminal nerve which connects your eyes, nose and mouth.

One of our guests required a gluten and nut free meal. The staff took this very seriously and we all enjoyed our sharing selection. The duck and waffle main course was particularly good (if a little weird). Would definitely visit again.

User

Fantastic food and excellent service. This place has all the quality of some top end london restaurants but non of the pretentiousness. “High”-ly recommended!! 😉

User

Fantastic experience. Got shown to our table ten minutes early. Drinks were offered and brought over promptly. Food was incredible and the view is breathtaking. Definitely an experience.

User

Excellent venue obviously. Our server was very attentive and welcoming. We were asked several times by different staff members if all was fine. We had the signature duck and waffle which was splendid. The birthday surprise at the end finished things off nicely.

User

Awesome breakfast with friends...vegan options available which made me very happy. The view was spectacular on sunny Sunday morning. Need to book again.

User

Wow, what a great venue and the food was awesome. However, £15 for a half glass of mimosa is hugely overpriced. Other than that i will definitely be revisiting 👍🏻😋

User

Very good service with attentive staff and excellent menu for snacks. Great that it's possible to have drinks and snacks only. Views still great over London BUT what a terrible shame that the new building being erected next to the Gherkin completely obliterates the view of the river. Still good experience though

User

This was genuinely the best breakfast I've ever had. The 'Duck and Waffle' confiet ducks leg, with waffle, maple and egg was amazing! Couldn't fault the food. We had a great table, it was very hot in the window, almost unbearable, but the views made up for it.

Service charge should ALWAYS be optional and never be added onto a bill for 2 people though!!

User

It’s my good memories to have very nicely dinner and enjoyed the good views of London from 40th floor of this building. In addition, the reception staffs are very friendly and attentive. So good 😍.

User

I was there yesterday for late night food.

We arrived at 2am and we got seated straight away and luckily we were near the window so that we could see all London.

The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed at the restaurant and the view is stunning.

The duck egg en cocotte was absolutely amazing, whereas the "roasted" cauliflower for me was impossible to eat, it was harder than the plate and the taste was not so good.

The staff was very professional and friendly at the same time, our waiter Cristian was 10+.

The price range is a little bit high for the kind of food (nothing too sophisticated) but it's very cheap if compared to other places with a similar view. In the end, it's the view and the location that you're paying.

£130 for three mains, three sides and three glasses of champagne is quite reasonable if you think you are on the 40th floor with a view on the City .

A plus is that it is open 24 hours! I will definitely come back.

User

Great location, interesting menu, inventive cocktails.

Food comes out in any order- promptly though , unlike the wine- came out as we were being given dessert menu. We enjoyed the cocktails though so we weren’t too bothered.

Food freshly prepared and good- one of the chefs helping himself to a few mouthful as we stood there wasn’t too impressive though!

Breads were great, duck perfect, doughnut wasn’t a doughnut as baked not fried.

Overall a pleasant experience even though service could have been better.

User

The food was good but unfortunately they messed up our order and because of an allergy they had to recook mine so my friend had to eat hers on her own. When my replacement came the omelette wasn’t cooked and it spoilt the whole experience . Which is a real shame when you have to book 2 months in advance and this was my 50th birthday treat!

User

Poor personal service - very much a money-grabbing production line. I rang beforehand to explain one of our party had a birthday: was assured a personalised moment would happen. It didn’t - it took three/four reminders for a very generic ‘birthday’ event (a candle on a microscopic saucer with no personalisation) to happen. Also: they made us wait 30 mins for our table: in the meantime they gave us the bar drinks menu - £50 for a bottle of white wine. Restaurant price £33. Taking the piss. Won’t be back.

User

Great view and good food, but, poor service,we arrived Duck & Waffle at 20:15pm on 18/5/2018,our reservation is table for four 20:15-22:15. A waitress told us that her manager instructed her to inform us that we’d to pay the bill and finished our dinner at 21:45pm. We hadn’t finished our dinner and wine, we still had half and hour. What kind of service. We want to talk with the manager but failed. We don’t want to give any trouble with the waitress,so,we paid the bill. Whether the restaurant has racial discrimination because we are Chinese from Hong Kong.

User

They were absolutely horrendous, disgracefully rude and even when I complained, the management team just said that is how it is, politely suggesting I deal with it! I would never recommend to anyone to go there again!

User

The door b_____ was rude and unwelcoming. She was also pretty sarcastic to us, and asked us if we know if there is a dress code here. Then, she acted all high and mighty, and told us “just for this time, i allow you to go in”. To my surprise, at the restaurant, lots of people were wearing trainers too. And to be clear, the email stated to “refrain from wearing trainers”. It did NOT say trainers are not allowed. The waiters were extremely slow too. And they still reminded us that we had to return the table at 14:45.

User

On 23 April, 2018. We made the reservation two months in advance just because we wanted to dine at sunset time. Got the confirmation SMS 3 days prior to the booking and replied. Yet upon arriving on time we were told to wait at the bar outside with the loud and annoying music. We only got seated 15 mins after our booking time (which was supposed to be the time of holding a table for late comers), and we got seated because we complained to the manager. The manager admitted the restaurant was overbooked. The key thing was, when I tried to go into the booking system in the morning of the day, I saw evening slots available.

Food: the crispy pig ears and smoked eel were fine. The mains were so-so. Nothing special for their signature dish. The rib-eye was heavily seasoned which made it awful. The main was served before we finished the starters. Was this supposed to be the arrangement? I bet not, as the table next to us had their starters before us and they only got the mains after they finished starter.

Staff: Right before getting into the building, the staff who guard the door downstairs was unfriendly. When we got upstairs and were told to wait, the staff didn’t show any welcome faces. We asked one staff to recommend drinks for us and her face was like “I don’t care”.

The one star of this review goes to the view of the restaurant. I would not recommend this to my friends who’re coming over to London.

User

I have to be honest, cuz I had the chicken & waffle in New York, the duck version of this is a pretty decent move and taste good. But the rest is a highway to hell type of course. Steak we ordered does not tastes like a 38 day aged steak, it was not juicy, not meaty and no buttery taste at all, probably that’s why the chef added caper butter sauce in the bottom to to compensate. Yellowfin tuna was horribly presented, we can’t taste the freshness of the raw fish, more further it was plated on a salt brick! WTH! The salt will dehydrate the fish almost immediately, are you fucking retarded!!! And comes the grilled squid served with hummus, again the sauce have completely taken over the control, can’t taste anything but hummus!

Finally, when we try to ask for the dessert menu, we were told we don’t have time for dessert and that our table time is up! We come in at 5:30 and were told we don’t have time for dessert at 7:10, but we were still able to order a bottle of wine at 7:00, WTF!!!

User

Hi would just like to know if you are still only allowing people in with muddy shoes? I know you don't let people with clean shoes on in this venue still actually puzzled why?
