Time for a change? For whatever reason - perhaps a new job, your children leaving home or meeting a new partner, there are periods in every woman's life when the clothes that always seemed right just don't do the job any more. This is the time to take a fresh look at yourself and to develop a style that is uniquely your own, all from the comfort of your own home.

Being well dressed doesn't mean dressing expensively or being at the cutting edge of fashion. While increased choice can be exciting, it can be overwhelming and confusing. The key is to know and understand why some pieces work better than others.

At e-PersonalStylist.com, we want you to forget about those fashion faux pas languishing in your wardrobe and look forward to understanding what is special about you.

New blog post uploaded: "Nifty Fifty Makeup'
The 'no makeup' selfie doing the rounds got me thinking about our makeup routine when we hit our fifties. Less is more at this stage of our life, but achieving this subtle look needs a little forward planning!

http://e-personalstylist.com/blog Spring has Sprung!
The daffodil's are out at last!
... Yellow is a warm colour but do you know if it is the tone for you? Auburn, golden brown or strawberry blonde hair, warm flecks in your eyes and skin with golden undertones could mean this is the colour for you!
Team up your yellow with other colours from your palette. Use a lighter shade of yellow teamed with light moss and peach for a fresh look if you have a more delicate colouring or go bold if you have a deeper colouring teaming a deeper yellow with olive and a splash of lime. The colour yellow is uplifting and illuminating, offering hope, happiness, cheerfulness and fun!

Coloured Frames
This season, designers have produced sunglasses in an array of colours from mint to red to two-tone and white. Coloured frames won't appeal to everybody, most of us tend to stick to a neutral colour because it ?goes with everything'. Coloured frames will stand out, of course, but they can look fabulous if you choose them carefully. You don't have to stick, to the same old brown, black or metal.
If you like to be on trend you will enjoy creating a statement lo...ok with your glasses. A creative personality might choose something a bit quirky. Even a more conservative dresser can find a subtle colour of frame that will match their wardrobe, say a deep navy or soft purple. White frames can look really fresh for summer, but they will look insipid on certain colourings.
Ideally, the colour of your frames needs to balance with your colouring (your hair and eye colour and skin tone).

Nifty Shades: get the perfect sunglasses

Sunglasses may not be an accessory you wear all year round, but they do an important job and form a key part of your spring/summer/holiday look.
... The most popular designs are the classics such as "Jackie-O" oversized, Ray-ban wayfarers and aviators. It's easy to default to the ?safe' choices but you can make your sunglasses a bit fun and a part of your look too.
As well as a range of variations on the classic styles, you will find a wide choice of colours to choose from. Whatever your tastes, you want your shades to do their job AND look good on you.
Choosing the right shape and scale
Your face shape will dictate the best shape of glasses for you so take your time to work out which styles flatter your face. You also need to consider the dimensions of the frame, and this will depend on both your face shape and size.
Oval face Yours is the most balanced face, so most styles of frame will suit you. Make sure that the scale of the frames balances with the scale of your face, and avoid frames with extreme angles.
Square face You need to give width to your face by extending the width of the frames and softening the lines. Try oval or rounded shapes.
Rectangular face Wider frames with a low bridge will give the illusion of shortening the face. Avoid sharp angles on your frames. Wide arms will ?break up' the length of the face, giving the illusion of shortening the length of your face.
Inverted Triangle Keep the size of the frame within the width of your face - you don't want the top of your head to look wider. Thin frames are good for you.
Round face Angles frames are good, as are those that are slightly wider than your face, but avoid heavy rounded frames, which will emphasize the roundness of your face.
Just like regular spectacles, you want your sunglasses to be a good fit. You don't want them sitting uncomfortably or sliding down your nose or hurting the backs of your ears.

Picked up a beautiful Moschino dress for £10 in the charity shop. One of my favourite designers and one that I would not normally be able to afford. Now need some sunshine so I can wear it. Savvy-style is a savvy shopper!

Todays bodyshape workshop is 'the rectangle'. Lucky you! Flat hips and flat bottom. Your build is characterized by: Straight shoulder line Straight hips and bottom... Very little waist definition Straight rib cage.
Your golden rules: Use details on hips and bottom to create shape Avoid noticeable waistbands and belts. Keep clothing lines straight Go for uncluttered look avoiding frills, flounces and floral patterns.
Crisp fabrics work well but slightly softer if you have a full bust.

The dreaded wardrobe audit! So you have succumbed to the sales again and it's time to really organize your wardrobe. Hopefully you have already established your colours, style personality and body shape. Where to begin? Pile 1. Clothes to keep. Pile 2. Clothes you might keep. Maybe a jacket you like but wrong colour. Could it be teamed with a scarf? Or a skirt in the correct colour but length could do with shortening? Pile 3. Clothes to dispose of. ... Give to friend, donate to charity, sell on the web or get together with some friends for a clothes swap.
Good luck!
