Ealing Swimming Club Description

ESC is split into 'Houses' with a Performance Development Section (The Squad), Masters, Senior and Junior Water Polo and a Triathlon Club.

Our team is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. All members are welcome and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fund-raiser.

All of the ESC coaches and teachers, as members of the ASA, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the UK. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality.

ESC is a registered Charity in England and Wales No 142189, that is organised with a two-tier board structure. There is an Operating Board which oversees the day-to-day running of the Club, and a Trustee Board that ensures accurate governance and compliance.

London Region Winter Championships 2018 - the short course championships were held on the 3rd & 4th November at the Olympic Pool in Stratford. Ealing were in dominate form topping the medal table, winning the top points award by nearly 100 points from the second place club. Ealing swimmers also won the top male and top female swimmers and in fact had 3 swimmers in the top 10 of each award. A great weekend of racing from across all age groups - well done to everyone involved.

On Saturday 13th October our players travelled to Manchester and took part in the Boys U15’s National League. The team finished a very creditable 5th place, a brilliant result under the circumstances. Well done to all the players and parents for their commitment and to Rumen for his enthusiasm and passion for the sport.

The Summer Championship season is now upon us and ESC's Ekaterina Avramova has been racing at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain . Katy has been in top form at this meet, representing Turkey, and picked up bronze in the 100m back in a excellent time of 61.16, Katy also took 4th in the 50m back, just missing a medal. Katy returns to her Gurnell Pool training base before competing at the British Summer nationals in Sheffield and then the European Championships in Glasgow.

Busy weekend across the many sections of ESC. Saturday morning saw a breakfast picnic in the Gurnell park after morning training . Lots to eat & drink and some fun & games as the season draws near to a close for the younger squad swimmers. Then on Sunday over 200 swimmers from across the many houses within ESC came together for an inter-house meet at Northolt . The meet was mainly relay events but there were a few individual races as well. A packed gallery ensured there was lots of support for everyone racing. Well done to everyone who helped to organsie these great events.

London Region Youth & Open Championships were held at the Olympic Pool at the London Aquatics Centre over the first Bank Holiday weekend in May. The Ealing swimmers were as hot in the pool as the wonderful weather outside. After three very long days of competition Ealing topped the medal table . The mens & ladies senior relay teams won all their events and the mens 4 x 100 medley B-Team also picked up third place. Many new best times were swum and one new club & county record was set by Cristian Rotundu in the 50m butterfly. These swimmers will now wait to see if their times will be quick enough to qualify for British or English Summer Nationals in Sheffield.

arena National League B-Final, 21st April 2018. Ealing SC travelled to Cardiff last weekend to make another appearance in the premier club competition that involves teams across England & Wales. Whilst not managing to equal the amazing performance of last year, when we won, the team still put in a superb all round team performance to finish in 7th place . The competition was tight and extremely close with positions changing throughout the afternoon. Ealing's Ekaterina Avramova won the award for the top female performance. The team ranged in age from 11 - 26 and all supported each other throughout the 50 events . A busy few weeks will start next weekend with the London Region Championships at the Olympic Pool in Stratford.

Last weekend saw ESC swimmers compete in two meets. The younger age groupers started off the Middx County Champs at Enfield with many new best times and medals across a range of events. Six of the seniors travelled to Antwerp in Belgium to race in the Flanders Cup meet as part of the London Region Team with ESC Head age group coach, Allan Thornton as the head coach. The meet featured many Olympic, World & European medalists and the standard was extremely high, despite this John, Katy, Lucy & Pietro all made finals and the Sunday Finals session was broadcast live on Belgium TV. Anton & Brodie also produced some good mid-season times.
