*** EID MUBARAK FROM THE EAST LONDON MOSQUE *** Wishing you and your loved ones a very blessed Eid al-Adha. May your future be filled with Happiness, Prosperity & Good Health.

*** Actions for the Day of Arafat *** . 1. Sleep early the night before the day of Arafat; . 2. Wake up before Fajr with the intention of taking your Suhoor in readiness for fasting this day;... . 3. Then pray at least two or four rakats and while in Sujood supplicate and ask Lord for the best of the two worlds (Dunya and Akhirah) and thank Him for making it possible for us to witness this day on which blessings and forgiveness are provided abundantly; . 4. Before Fajr, spend sometime asking for forgiveness so that you can be counted from among those who seek for forgiveness during the night; . 5. Prepare for Fajr prayer and continue asking for forgiveness; . 6. Pray Fajr and after finishing the prayer remain in your praying place (Musallah) reading Qur’an and engaging in all soughts of Zikr until sunrise; . 7. Pray two rakats of Shuruuk 15 minutes after sunrise so that you can benefit from the reward of having performed Hajj and Umrah as the prophet mentioned. Please don't miss this opportunity; . 8. After Shuruuk, you can choose to sleep for a while in order to gain more strength for the fasting during the rest of the day; . 9. You can then wake up to pray Salatul Dhuha, at least 4 rakats and continue with your Zikr saying ‎" لاإله الا الله وحده لاشريك له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شئ قدير.." . 10. Pray Dhuhr, say takbeer and read something from the Qur'aan; . 11. Listen to the Khutbah of Arafat from Itv or any other Islamic channel; . 12. Pray Asr and continue your Zikr and read Qur’an until before Maghrib; . 13. With about an hour to go before Maghrib, start your supplications asking God for forgiveness, blessings and the best of the two worlds. Don't forget to pray for your Muslim brothers and sisters including those who are dead and alive. Also remember the day you will stand in front of your Lord. Ask Allah that the sun of Arafat should not set unless that you are amongst the forgiven ones; . 14. Adhan for Maghrib - break your fast and don't forget to make a Dua during Iftar. Proceed to pray your Salat and your Arafat Day is complete! . May Allah accept and guide us always to doing what is right and may He make us to be among his favourite servants.

I feel very peaceful when visiting this Masjid to pray to one God , who made everything in the world . Especially during the month of Ramaddan, though it’s very busy at this month after Down or Esha prayer ( Tarawih) .

I experienced a high faith in ELM being among those fabulous crowds, either in the Congregational Prayers or Taraweeh, it's indescribable feeling when you hear Adhan with that warm lovely voice, and it ends up with a tender-hearted Qur'anic recitation.



Everything in ELM is well taken care of, the sound system, cleanliness, the peaceful atmosphere set you in the best mode, and even the hospitality, especially in the front lines! It reminds me with those great nights I used to spend in Makka at Haram!!



May Allah bless this place more n more, and bless those who are taking care of it.

Your response to the LGBT protest controversy was very unprofessional. watch?v=UMvOY1EkLJ That protest (organized by the ex-muslim council of britain) happened because the East London mosque has had people speak who make false claims about gays and call for their death or persecution, which is morally bankrupt and evil. But instead of condemning them you shifted the blame to the organizers calling them far-right racists and islamaphobes (despite being ethnic Pakistanti ex-muslims), not addressing any of their concerns. Not a good response. I hope one day we'll get an apology from the East London mosque for hosting hate preachers. Gays are people also, and if you took time to to sit down and meet a regular member of the gay community you'd quickly see most are good people and often indistinguishable from heterosexuals. Doing so would probably weaken your faith in Islam as it did with me. That's all
