We are now back from a great weekend at the ISTD Blackpool Finals. It was lovely to see so many of our dresses being worn including some which we made many years ago that are still going strong. The standard of dancing was very high and the competition was tough so congratulations to all the finalists and winners. Lots of photos to follow!

At this time every year I write a post wishing all our friends and customers good luck for the ISTD Blackpool finals and normally added that I wished that I could be there to watch you all. Well this year I will be!! Hannah and I are off to Blackpool tomorrow morning which means that we will be closed until Tuesday. I am really looking forward to seeing you all dancing in your beautiful dresses and hopefully also getting to meet some customers with whom the only contact we have had has been via the joys of e-mail and internet. After the stresses of the past few days it was lovely to receive these beautiful flowers. Thank you Rowena, they really brightened our day

On Sunday night thieves stole the boiler at our workshop, in doing this they cut oil, water and electricity connections which resulted in a major oil spillage outside. Although we have no heating or hot water and are suffering from awful fumes we have luckily been able to continue to work through what is our busiest time of the year, although not in the most pleasant of conditions! I would like to apologise to our customers who have had to come for fittings and dress collections over the past couple of days and suffer the fumes and also to thank my staff who have soldiered on regardless despite some unpleasant side effects. We are determined to ensure that all the dresses currently being made for ISTD Blackpool will be finished and delivered before the event!!!!!!!!

As we will have no electricity for the day tomorrow (19th October) we will be unable to operate as normal and will have no phones or internet access so there may be a delay in responding to e-mails and messages. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we will reply to all messages and communications as soon as we possibly can.

Due to a dress disaster Emma was left without a latin dress to wear at her Blackpool finals just over a week before the event. There wasn't time to make her anything new but luckily she had a plain practice dress in her wardrobe. A bit of shortening, a minor adjustment or two and quite a few rhinestones later we transformed it into a dress which she could wear at Blackpool, where she made her latin final. Congratulations Emma

As we are not going to have any power at our premises on Friday 21st September so will be unable to receive calls or messages we have had to make the decision to close for the day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers but we will respond to messages as soon as we possibly can and will be back to normal on Monday 24th September.

Due to staff holidays the last week or two have been a bit hectic here so apologies to customers for taking longer than normal to respond to queries and messages and also to those waiting for estimates. I havn't forgotten you and will get them done and to you as soon as I possibly can. Hopefully normal service will resume next week!

We recently made these gorgeous dresses for our little sponsored dancer Laila-Ola for her first competition with her new partner Arjan. They had a brilliant first competition, finishing with 5 lst places and a second. Congratulations to them and we wish them every success for the future

my twin girls have a ballroom comp in 2 weeks panicking that we would not get a dress in time! My mum contacted Elaine and she was more than happy to help and get the dresses made in time for us! Having seen the work on the page I just know these dresses are going to be perfect!

Elaine's expertise and advice on fit mean her dresses move perfectly, are really responsive to your actions and made to suit you. Through years of experience, Elaine instinctively knows what works and what doesn't and I found her advice invaluable, especially when you're new to competitive dancing.



You need to know you can rely on someone who knows their stuff and I felt confident I was in safe hands. Her friendly manner made the whole process exciting and enjoyable. Whatsmore, the dresses were a fraction of the price of the big fashion houses. I'm looking forward to my dancing days even more now. Thank you.

Elaine and Hannah made my daughter romey a stunning Latin dress with extra ballroom skirt. Allowed her to design it herself, and were on hand to give ideas and advice. Very welcoming and friendly. Ended up with a stunning unique dress which really stands out at competitions. Can't praise enough x
