About Emily Brown Semi-Permanent Makeup

Using the best industry techniques to provide semi permanent enhancements to your own natural beauty

Emily Brown Semi-Permanent Makeup Description

Gone are the days of applying makeup. Permanent and semi-permanent makeup is a cosmetic treatment for the brows, lips and eyes used to produce looks that resemble makeup, such as eyeliner. Designed to give you a subtle natural finish of perfectly applied makeup, it’s a miracle treatment that will put an end to those nightmare minutes in the morning spent putting your face on. Perfect for those busy, always-on-the-go professionals, sporty outdoor types or those who simply want to look good 24 /7.

How does it work?

Let’s face it; we all get bored with applying makeup. Not only does it take up valuable time in the morning, but it also has the tendency of smudging, running and smearing. Permanent or semi-permanent makeup otherwise known as micro pigmentation is a process whereby hypoallergenic pigments (this means there are no fragrances or other ingredients added) are inserted into the dermal layer (lower layer) of the skin, usually using a needle. This makes it stay put all day, every day without smudging or wearing off. So, whether you’re taking a dip in the pool or splashing about at the beach, there’s no need to worry about it exposing your au naturale look.

Permanent or semi permanent makeup can be applied to the brows, lips, and eyes to enhance your natural features and take years off your appearance. It will help to give lift to the brows and give the illusion of fuller lips, without resorting to going under the knife so it’s a great non-surgical alternative to anti-ageing treatments. What’s more it can also be used to disguise scars and white spots in the skin.

The treatment, which takes one to two hours depending on what is required, will begin with a detailed consultation where you will pick your desired colours and definitions. Careful measurements are then taken and guiding curves are drawn onto the face before the treatment begins. When the client is completely happy with the colours and definitions selected, the permanent and semi-permanent make-up technology is applied.

How long will the make-up last?

Although pigment molecules stay in the skin indefinitely the colour remains visible for several years. This is variable depending upon the client’s age, skin type, colour choice and lifestyle. It is suggested that you have a renewal procedure every 18-24 months to keep the look complete and fresh. A ‘renewal’ is half the current full treatment price.

Is the procedure painful?
Every client is different but with advanced new equipment and techniques, discomfort is minimal. We use topical anaesthetics to control pain tolerance.

Do I have a choice on placement and colour?
Definitely. The client is in control every step of the way from desired shape to colour selection. We work together to make it perfect for you.

How long will the procedure take?
You should allow a minimum of one and a half hours for a new procedure.

Will I be able to go out without everyone noticing?

After a procedure the area treated will be darker and more intense. This will last for a few days until the area exfoliates, then it will fade and the true colour will emerge. Generally it is only you who will notice the darker colour.

What about after care?
You will be given a comprehensive after care guide at the end of the treatment which may include aftercare ointment, and also verbal instructions throughout the procedure.
