My pumpkins went in today!! 🎃 (small sugar variety) I'm very excited about these guys!! I haven't updated about any of my seedlings in a while since I was having a lot of difficulty due to the constant change in temperature, it was really effecting the growth of any of them. But alas with a little help from Mum they finally came through! She looked after them in the greenhouse at home as they clearly didn't like my windowsill. So here we are big and strong ready to go in the ...ground. I'm verrrry nervous about slugs but fingers crossed they do well. Im also attempting the 'three sisters planting' which I'll talk more about in another post. SWEET CORN BABIES 🌱 I honestly feel like a proud Muma! I've never grown Veg before.. I mean apart from the occasional Cress in egg cups as a kid... and of course I've done herbs and flowers but this is my first time growing my own veggies and it's so exciting! Finally finished the five back beds, not the most photogenic but we'll get there eventually haha.. That was all tall grass and piles of junk at one point. I've turned the ground, covered with poop and then covered with old carpet and sheeting to keep them warm until I'm ready to plant. Celery has been found to be one of the top veggies with the hightest concentration of pesticides. Feels good to get muddy again! Was totally unplanned but once I was finally at the allotment for an overdue visit I couldn't help myself but fiddle and deweed everything.. well make a start at least, I've still got ALOT to get through! Sun is shining and the ground was beautifully tender to get digging. Unfortunately I can't get strimming as it's still quite wet so still have to wait on cutting the grass back but hey it was good to get out and play in the mud! 🌱🐾 I just real...ised I post myself in this jumper alot... 😂😂🌈 . . .

Posting this as more of a progress report. Plus, I realised I've never posted anything showing the scale of my plot before. Took some images yesturday and measured so I could go home and start planning! It looks pretty bare at the moment, partly because I didnt take full advantage of it last summer as I was just starting out, also my plot was originally tall grass, carpet, football goals, bathtubs and tires! Basically it had been neglected by the previous owner for years. We...ll that all changed when my family stumbled across it and sorted this big mess out. Now the plot is much more manageable. You wouldn't beleive I have TEN trees to work round! And when they're grown in the summer they take up a large portion of the plot.
