We only waited 10 minutes to get served at the snack counter, staff were polite and friendly. We entered the screen room and we were greater by an ausher who gave us advice on where our seats where. 5/5! Thank you!! Oh and we enjoyed the film too

User

We bought our 21 month twins to the movies for juniors screening of coco on Sunday which they absolutely loved was such a lovely cinema with a great atmosphere staff were very friendly and all for £1.75 each such a bargain!! We are from Harlow but would definitely choose to come here over our local cinema!

User

Staff polite and friendly..seats Hav plenty of leg room...In this day and age everyone should carry ID.. So find Comments regarding staff asking for it absurd.. .

Parking very close and reasonable on price, especially after 5pm..

User

Love this cinema. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The prices are decent compared to other cinemas. The selection of films on show is good. It would be great if they could extend this cinema into a multiplex it deserves a few more screens. Seating facilities and toilets are above satisfactory and the quality of the food is good for my taste. You won't be disappointed.

User

i visit this cinema very often and i dont think iv had a bad experince yet most off the staff are all very helpful Esp a Lad called Ben always happy to help and a very polite guy! some staff need to cheer up a bit tho the last film i saw tho Blair Witch awful film! bit dissapointed that empire isnt showing Brotherhood so will have to see that somewhere else

User

The cinema was clean and tidy and staff nice and friendly. Film quality was good as was the sound quality. The seating was spacious and easy to find. The cost of £4.50 was very good thanks to it being a Tuesday.

User

Over priced considering the comfort of seating i.e. lack of leg room etc. Cinemas have always over charged for snacks and drinks it's to be expected but the staff were very good and whole experience is better than cinemas used to be.

User

Nice staff, good seats

Ladies toilets smelly and dirty though

User

My eight month old and I went to the parent and baby screening of 'Bad Moms' on Monday. The staff could not have been more helpful. They were holding open doors for buggies, checking the volume on the film regularly and even helping clear up spills! We will definitely go to another parent and baby screening. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a more user friendly lift! A great afternoon out though.

User

Love this cinemA. Staff always helpful and friendly and suggest a suitable film if we are not sure which one to choose. We have always enjoyed the choice. My friend is in electric wheelchair and they always open the door for us as well. Seats have plenty of leg room and prices are reasonable.

User

I like Bishops Stortford Empire its friendly, has a good range of snacks, Love the Slush Puppie drinks they are so tasty. The Cinemas have great sound and visual effects. I give it a 4 star.

User

Empire Bishops Stortford is actually a nice place to watch a movie. The staff is friendly, the place is decently clean, prices for tickets are more than reasonable (considering how high current ticket prices are). Saver's Tuesdays are a must! Snacks and drinks are, as everywhere, overpriced, but I can get that. Would love to see some special events like themed cycles about a specific director/actor/genre.

User

The film was OK, better than expected. Seats good, sound good, my only bug bear is that I understand the need to increase fees but in the last 2years the fees have gone up on Tuesdays. It cost me just over £20 Inc card fees for 4people to watch star wars episode 7 in 3D. But yesterday it over £10 for 2people for a normal film. Any chance some one could explain why?

User

The entrance to the Empire Cinema at Bishop's Stortford is bleak and bare. There is no indication from the main road that there is a cinema nearby. Quite depressing. Inside the foyer it is a little better but the staff seem to lack enthusiasm. The studio we entered was OK and the seats very comfortable.

User

Staff friendly and polite. Relatively clean and tidy. Good film and sound quality. Fairly expensive as cinemas go and a little cramped. Local parking is difficult to enter, in very poor condition loads of big pot holes and extortionate, even in the evening! The car park is not owned by the cinema though. Would be better suited in a out of town retail park like a lot of other cinemas rather than in the town.

User

No queues due to the time of the showing. Expensive pop, sweets etc. Seats were comfy enough, clean and tidy. Toilets smell awful, but are clean. A lady fell over after film, my husband assisted I went for help-there were no members of staff to be seen. Luckily the lady was fine, but what happens if there is a real problem? Do staff only show up to check tickets at the start of a film?

User

£8 a seat is a ridiculous price, 3.30 for a soft drink is a ridiculous price ... Totally overpriced and to be honest I would only pay the entrance fee if I was desperate to see the film, otherwise am happy to pay 4.95 on sky and watch it at home!

User

Very disappointed with customer service last night. My son and his friends travelled by train from Saffron Walden to see a film, were asked for ID (which I appreciate is the rule), however 2 of them did not have ID. Your customer service told them there was one film about to start that they could go and see (even though it was £2.50 more) so they agreed. Now this is a group of teenagers who were already embarrassed by being asked for ID so they just went along with it as there was a queue behind them. They sat down only to find it was a child's cartoon film - they left after 5 minutes. No refund was offered - how can you justify taking over £50 for teenagers to watch a film for 5 minutes. Would a refund, even a partial one, have been so hard to do - if only for the sake of PR .... which obviously actually you don't seem to care about, having read through some of the comments on your page (which I find amusing that you chose to ignore - so I too am not expecting a reply). Writing this to warn other parents!

User

Really not happy. Got to the cinema with 10 mins before the film started, needed to collect my tickets and family combo as paid in advance.

There were only 2 members of staff serving and were in no hurry. took me 30 mins to cue up in the end and missed the beginning of the fil - but there were only about 10 people/families in front of me!! Cant understand why it took so long tbh. My 2 little girls werent happy about missing the beginning as it obviously set up the film.

Included in the combo were 2 kids boxes which was a fruit shoot and sweets. Got told they had run out - this was during a school holiday!!! Thought they would have stocked up. Instead got told that they could each have a popcorn instead. ....but the combo already had a large popcorn and the lady didnt offer any alternatives...only that i could have a big bag of sweets if i paid for them!

Customer service was poor from both staff and on here. Private messaged them and no response! Will definayely not be coming back or recommending this cinema. Havent got the decency to come back to me about this
