Empowering Yoga โ€“ The modern fusion of Hatha Yoga with the principles of Vinyasa Yoga, that encompasses a range of free flowing movements from simple, mindful postures to empowering and dynamic sequences all incorporating the breath.

A space in time to breathe, nurture, centre and empower yourself, that will leave you glowing from the inside out. Whilst sculpting your body on a physical level, as you develop core abdominal strength and increased flexibility.

Joanne has over 20 years experience in Yoga, having travelled the world exploring different styles and schools. She has combined all of her experience and teachings into Empowering Yoga, and teaches Vinyasa influenced Hatha Yoga classes.

This tree is across the road from my house. It flowers in abundance every year, then presents a beautiful carpet of pink petals on the pavement. I watch it bloom and blossom from my office and often see other passersby taking photos as they catch site of it. It really is beautiful. They are committed to improving childrenโ€™s wellbeing and mental health and as you know, I believe that yoga can play an important part in mental wellbeing.

Superb! Both for the body and mind. Jo is an excellent teacher, very structured. She makes you slowly transition into the difficult positions. Always has a bunch of variations for people of all abilities. Highly recommend.

Jo is an excellent yoga instructor who will structure the class specifically to ensure that you are warmed up and ready for the poses which helps you achieve them. The class is always varied to keep you interested and if you canโ€™t make class she will do her best to offer you another slot. She is very generous in sharing her knowledge of the benefits of yoga. Highly recommended

In the short time I have been attending Joanne's classes, my body is already starting to reap the benefits of yoga.

For me, yoga certainly seems to keep the day to day stresses of life under control.

As I do a lot of running, I also find that yoga helps to loosen off my muscles and is a great way for stretching the body in a more disciplined way.

I've been attending Joanne's classes for about 4 years and always find I learn something new each time. I like the the explainations of the benefits of certain asanas. The past few weeks we have been working on breathing and pranayama to help keep our immune systems as strong as possible. That's what I also enjoy about Joanne's classes, they feel relevant to the time of year and interesting too. It feels almost holistic that way. There is a nice balance of stretches, moving on to some postures which can be extended or modified depending on your ability, followed by some breath work and sometimes a bit of yoga nidra meditation to feel deeply relaxed. You might think the gentle vinyasa flow is innocuous, until you wake up the following day to discover a muscle group that you didn't know you had, aching! But Joanne is always on hand to answer any questions and give you some guidance on how to deepen your own practise. Keep up the good work Joanne, thank you and Namaste. Xx

I attended the Yin Yoga indulgence workshop on 11th November and was so pleased that I did. During the session Joanne covered a variety of stretches, breathing and read some inspirational poetry. I felt fulfilled and energised - looking forward to the next workshop.
