It has come to our attention that rogue traders maybe targeting addresses due to a disabled bay outside of their home.
This has happened on two occasions on Southbury Ward EN1. The males have been knocking on doors stating that some work needs doing to the front of their home.
One resident allowed then to give her a quote which came to £850.The males then put pressure on the resident to have the work carried out there and then. The resident felt uneasy and declined but stat...ed they were very pushy. The resident asked for a second opinion from a friend in the building trade & was quoted £120 but was informed the work was not necessary.
Enquiries have been carried out at other addresses to establish if they knocked on other premises , but it appears this is not the case and the only connections is the houses with disabled bays outside have been targeted.
We don’t have a good description at this time other than 3 white middle aged men. They left their business card with details as .....

Please be mindful of these males and always get a second opinion. A legitimate business won’t mind coming back another day while your check the history of their business.
Keep an eye on your neighbours and if you notice anything suspicious please do obtain any details you can , and make us aware along with trading standards .

Great result again from our Enfield Gangs Unit. Officers spotted a group of 3 males and 1 female on St Peters Road N9 yesterday about 5pm. The group were wearing balaclavas covering their faces and armed with a plank of wood and knives.Upon seeing police they all made off.
Officers chased the group and all 4 were detained and knives recovered. They were arrested and kept on remand awaiting CPS charging decision.
2 hunting knives , I large machete, 1 kitchen knife and a lock... knife were recovered.
There is no doubt that this group would have caused some serious harm on the streets armed with those weapons, and thankfully to the Gangs Unit intervention this has been prevented.
The girl was 13 years old and the 3 males were between 15 & 17yrs old .
Knives takes lives.

****WANTED MALE BY BARNET POLICE*** Can you help find Cayle Lynch 24 years. On Friday the 10th of August officers were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance at a residential address whereby a male was armed with a knife .
Officers confronted a male inside the address who brandished a sledgehammer & swung it at them. One officer was hit with the sledgehammer and injured before the male decamped & fled .

Good result from our Neighbouring Borough. Haringey’s Gangs Unit have chased, detained and arrested a 14 year old male for robbery. The suspect had committed 7 moped robberies within an hour in the Crouch End/ Hornsey/ Muswell Hill area.
The male had 13 mobile phones on him from different robberies and all the items have now be returned to the rightful owners.
The suspect has been charged for the robberies and is awaiting sentencing from Highbury Corner Magistrate Court .

Interesting post by our neighbours in Haringey and a similar story here in Enfield. The reality is that mental health is the reason behind many calls to the police. While we do our level best when we are called on we are not trained professionals in this field and generally aren’t the best public service to respond - however it often happens that we are the first port of call, especially in times of crisis.

Our saferestates team funded by Enfield council have been running OpSaunter over the past two weeks targeting the challenging estates on the borough. Over the past two nights the team worked on Upper Edmonton addressing the prostitution problem which blights the area for local residents . A total of 24 Prostitution Cautions were given out ,four arrests for street offences, two vehicles seized and processed two punters for traffic offences. Work will constantly continues in this area. Yesterday officers from the #saferestates, #violentcrimetaskforce, and #neighbourhoodstaskingteam made 4 arrests for various offences in the Forestreet N18 area. Weapon and drugs sweeps also took place by our colleagues from #DSU. Max our drugs dog found the below.
