About Equinox24

A 10k and 24 hour running event based in Leicestershire. For full details visit www. equinox24. co. uk

Equinox24 Description

The Equinox 24 is a 24 hour mixed terrain race against the clock. The event is open to all abilities: whether entering to run solo or in a team of 2-8; whether you aim to win or just to take part, this race will be exhilarating, testing and rewarding with a great atmosphere. The 10k route will take you around the Belvoir Castle Estate, on completing your lap you will hand over to one of your teammates or if solo keep on running!

The name “equinox” is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because around the equinox, night and day are about equal length.

You’ll find the Equinox 24 physically challenging and mentally tough but an amazing experience not to be missed. The event is based in the stunning grounds of the Belvoir Castle Estate in Leicestershire.

The 10k race follows the same course as the 24 hour race and takes place on the Saturday of the event.

A weekend you will talk about for years, especially with those who share the weekend with you!

you will not get a better run event, the setting is beautiful and the family feel to the atmosphere is amazing. The love from the organisers for this event is clear to see with extras provided and no stone unturned. People will naturally compare to TR24 but there is no comparison because equinox is so far ahead and wins hands down. I was disappointed with the runners who drove on the course when a path had been clearly set out for them but nothing the event team could have done because they did everything possible to stop it. Sitting in a chair now and even a fart hurts but I still have a smile on my face because I really enjoyed myself.

User

Will be back next year. Did the day and night 10ks. Want a little more next year

User

We had an amazing weekend! It's the 3rd year of coming! I am usually working on the sat so ended up arriving stressed and late to equinox! However this year I managed to get cover and enjoy the whole weekend arriving fri eve. My 9 year old was amazing in the kids race and 72 year old mother in law was incredible in her 10k. I ran the 10k and did another 2 laps with hubby unchipped and loved it! Clocking up 18.5miles and felt great! Which has annoyed my hubby james harris. James managed 4 laps on many injuries. We ran sensible and enjoyed the atmosphere of such an inspirational event. Thank you The harris family and its generations will be back for more.

User

Utterly brilliant event, once you've done it you won't want to miss out on it next time! It's a challenging 10k lap but I'm building up the courage to enter solo in 2018. I fancy having that posh medal on the wall.

User

This was the first time at EQ24 and first ever ultra event .Did the Event as a Pair with my Daughter Kylie. We did 18 chipped laps 9 each,my daughter also ran 2 unchipped laps running with me to take her total to 11.

Fantastic Event, Marshalls, Support Teams,Stalls Atmosphere.

Loved the course a bit of everything.

A big Thank You to all at EQ24.

One very minor gripe no lights around top end porta loos.

User

This event gets better & better every year, the atmosphere is amazing, it doesn’t matter what level or runner you are the encouragement & support you get from others is priceless, can’t wait till next year 😎

User

Thank you to everyone involved in the Equinox 24. My first one this year and I absolutely loved it. Well organised, lovely supportive marshals and good choice of food and sale stalls. Toilets and showers not too shabby either considering.

User

My first time experiencing this event and have to say was not disappointed. I thought it was excellent in every way. Loved the course and the views you get all around it are fantastic. Great atmosphere around the camp too and the organisers went that step further. Even a film for the little ones to watch in one of the tents. Brilliant. I have done TR24 for many years but in my opinion this event is far superior. Well done all those involved in making it such a success.

User

Loved every second of the weekend, despite the pain I'm in now. Already contemplating how to run next year. Solo again, or pair

Congratulations to all of the runners, and a special word for the efforts of the organisers and marshals. Second to none as an event

User

If you have an addictive personality avoid this event like the plague. It’s a dead cert you will fill this September slot in your diary for the next ten years without a second thought before you’ve even finished washing your weekends well worn and hugely trodden kit.

Book it. I dare you. You will not regret it but don’t say I didn’t warn you. See you next year and the year after.........

User

I have been fortunate enough to do this amazing event four times so far, 3 times as a relay and this year as a solo. This is an amazing and unique running event in beautiful surroundings. But make no mistake, this is much more than a running event, it’s about everything that is good about life. It’s an experience that cannot be underestimated.

User

I did this two years ago, got a solo ticket on a Wednesday before the weekend done 15 laps and I was ruined haha, never again I said.... so obviously I am doing it again. Personally I think it is great value for money, great options for solo or team or even just a single 10km . Super friendly with amazing volunteers. Fantastic event with great setup and surroundings.

User

I came with a small team the first year & absolutely loved it, I’ve been every year since & twice as a solo this year as a large team!

User

First time I've done an event of this type and it was brilliant. The 10k lap is very challenging so don't underestimate it. Glad to say I didn't walk up 'that hill' for any of my 4 laps. Organisation and marshals are all top drawer. Loved the beer bus too. I'm a proper bling chaser and this year's medal is up there with the best I've got. My only slightly gripe was the t-shirt sizes. Would have loved to have worn mine with pride but medium is most definitely not medium (unless there was a women's medium and a men's medium?!?!).

User

Amazing! So well organised and so friendly. Loved the course (well maybe not 'THAT' hill) so beautiful with Belvoir Castle as a back drop. Excellent marshals (huge thanku). Will be back again!

User

Amazing weekend. Organisation from Jonny and Laura is fantastic, the food vendors and the other retail stores are brilliant and very reasonably priced. Marshalls and volunteers were all exceptional and very attentive checking on how people were feeling during the later stages. The course is a good mix of trail and road with a brutal downhill followed straight after by 'that hill'. Highly recommended

User

Amazing event as always. Bit tougher than I thought going solo for the first year. Great turnout; tons of runners and such an amazing friendly atmosphere. It's like a huge extended family.

Thoroughly recommend this event. Just make sure you have done plenty of trading on inclines, declines, camber and uneven bumpy off road trails.

User

Absolutely loved the whole weekend.! Would of loved to do a couple more laps but my knees were thinking otherwise. This was my first time at eqinox24 and I certainly don’t think it’ll be my last ..! Just need a slightly better fit t-shirt for

Next year...! Well done to all those that took

Part and thank you to all the organisers and Marshall’s.!!

User

1st timer at an event like this, had such a great weekend. I managed 3 laps in a team of 8. Big shout out to the GRC family who supported who supported its members so well. The castle grounds setting was beautiful, the course was challenging, the only gripe was the tshirt sizes! I had to give my small to my petite14 year old daughter and there's no wriggle room in it even for her.

Well done organisers
