‚Ė™ÔłŹ Strength training ‚Ė™ÔłŹ It‚Äôs a hugely neglected part of many people‚Äôs workout routines, so today we‚Äôre shining a light on the benefits. ‚ĖęÔłŹ People often tell us they are scared of ‚Äėgetting bulky‚Äô, intimidated by lifting weights, or prioritising burning fat in their weight loss routine. ‚Ė™ÔłŹ But strength training not only helps us ‚Äėtone up‚Äô, it projects bones and joints and keeps us young. Did you know that it even helps burn fat while resting? Every decade we reach after the age... of 30, muscle declines by 3-8%. Because it has a higher metabolic rate than fat, the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn not only during exercise but also at rest. ‚ĖęÔłŹ The NHS now recommends strength training on at least 2 days a week working all the major muscle groups - it‚Äôs a non-negotiable regardless of how much cardio you do. ‚Ė™ÔłŹ It‚Äôs critical that resistance training is properly coached, so that an instructor has the time and space to spot any errors in form that could be causing injuries and strains or making an exercise less effective, and come coach you to perform at your best and get the most out of a workout. ‚ĖęÔłŹ Come and get started on Thursday evening with Laura @ The Strength ūüí™ See you there! #weareevoke #thatfeelinginside
