Visible In Time Sat 28 April – Sun 1 July Mirror Gallery Featuring work by artists: Eva Rudlinger, Žilvinas Kropas, Neil Shirreff, Sophie Walker, Robin Sewell, Mark Langley
... This thought provoking group exhibition has invited artists to consider and explore the concept of visually capturing a passage of time which, without artist intervention, is usually unseen. This eclectic exhibition includes durational photography works, digital works and captured annotations or concepts of time.
KEEP Sat 28 April – Sun 1 July Print Gallery Claire Willberg and Michelle Avison are practicing artist printmakers, based at SLAUGHTERHAUS Print Studio in South London. Printmaking: Perspectives:Series 1 & 2. This is the first of a series of print exhibitions inviting local and national printmakers and print studios to exhibit their work. The exhibition showcases recent experimental monotype, relief and collagraph images that use print as a means to explore drawing, composition and colour. Both artists use the minutiae of their immediate environment to inform their work.
What is art? One word: 3,000 definitions? Sat 28 April – Sun 24 June, Long Gallery, Jane Glennie Most of us have strong opinions on what is (or is not) art. People have argued about it for centuries without conclusion. Jane Glennie asks South Hill Park visitors the same question.
Harriet Brittaine From Sat 28 April Atrium Harriet Brittaine, artist and South Hill Park tutor, has been invited to observe and capture the people and happenings that make South Hill Park such a special place for visitors, staff and all those who support the centre.
Being Here Sat 28 April – Sun 24 June Platform Gallery, level 1 This exhibition is the first opportunity for the public to see the work of these talented and creative young people, who each find unique ways of expressing themselves through their art work. Fantastic day for conversation about art during the Slow Down for Slow Art Day Event. Fantastic conversations inside the Mirror Gallery and then to an outdoor sculpture to enjoy discussions in the sunshine. Thanks to those who came along. Slow Art Day discussion guides were used all day by many more. Slow Art Day #southhillpark
