Where do you get a great pot of traditional tea? Fait Maison.



A beautifully lit room, decorated inside and out with cascading, soft, pink flowers. Ornate crockery and silverware celebrate the traditional teas and coffees. I had the Karak tea which had notes of cardamom and ginger.



Friendly, generous Sam looked after us. Baclava!!! Pistachio!!! Macaroons, meringues, - magical.

Visited Fait Maison for afternoon tea! I needed one afternoon tea to be Gluten free and they did everything to provide this and I ahd one happy friend that really enjoyed her gf afternoon tea! Staff were very professional, friendly & attentive. Lovely place and good yummy afternoon tea. Will definitely visit again and will recommend to family and friends. Thank you to all staff :-)

I went with my daughter for afternoon tea on sat 1st April it was absolutely gorgeous , sandwiches an cakes all fresh made an the girls couldn't have been more helpful if they tried brilliant service brilliant afternoon tea 10/10 xxx

Had my birthday here recently and the staff went above and beyond to make my experience enjoyable. Food was great, beautiful decor, definitely two thumbs up.

Came here this afternoon to celebrate my mum's birthday. There were 7 of us and the tea, sandwiches and cakes were delicious! Service was fabulous too. Would highly recommend! Thank you. ��

An absolute pleasure to dine here! Definitely recommend. Friendly staff and very kind. Food was fantastic, great selection. Especially enjoyed the parsnips and carrot side dish and the salads. Will come again for the desserts for sure!

Absolutely wonderful visit, staff were delightful, food and drinks delicious. Beautifully designed we looked everything about it we will definitely be back with more friends to try more of the great food on offer.

Beautiful place, food is good but couldn't pay by card, said cash machine was not working, a friend told me that she experienced that before. Service was a bit slow but we personally didn't mind because we were happy to sit and chat for ages.

We booked in advance for my mums 62nd birthday and we're told to come 15 minutes early for afternoon tea. Got there early but staff were unaware of the booking despite calling in advance and no tables available. Lucky we had a confirmation email. They sorted two round tables rather than have us all sit at one large together- felt very disjointed. I'd called to check everything as my mum is disabled and can't stand, made this clear befitehand but they were not helpful. Left stood in the corner like spare parts.

The afternoon tea was OK not the best.

Staff were brusque.

I wouldn't go back.

Two tiny scones you could in two mouthfuls,they were delicious, a slice of red velvet cake a pot of tea for 1 and a cappuccino. £27 day light robbery in South Kensington. The service was slow , sloppy and tad rude. I have been to far superior tea rooms. I won't be back

It's a lovely place and very informal which was nice,but the sandwiches were very cold as if they had just been taken out of the fridge and the Rooibos tea was way too perfumed,so wasn't too impressed with this side of things but the cakes were very tasty although not enough cream for the scones.

Had a fantastic time at Fait maison . The staff were brilliant and nothing was a problem. The afternoon tea was excellent and lots of different sandwiches, cakes and chics of a high standard. The surroundings was great with lots of lovely touches and great atmosphere- would definitely recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Staff did not warn us that their card machine was broken before we ate. We had to go across the street and withdraw cash, which charged us an extra £2. The cafe was dirty. Clearly unswept floors, dirty sugar bowl and table from their last guests and fingerprint marks on the sticky chairs. Our waiter got our orders wrong more than once. Overall, a disappointing mess.

We went to the Gloucester Road branch for an early Mother's Day present. The cafe is beautifully decorated and clean. The staff are not all English speaking, which leaves you waiting around for long periods of time for the 1-2 people that do& when you do get to speak to them, they are rushing you as they have to deal with the other customers. When the afternoon tea arrived, they did not give any information of what was being served. We had previously requested plain chicken sandwiches as 2 guest are fussy eaters- we only received 2 plain finger sandwiches. The tea was extremely weak, we asked for a stirrer, it was taken away for nearly 10mins before it was brought back and was a warm temp. We also asked for more milk, which we were brought heated milk, then waited a further 10mins for the cold milk. The sandwiches were very dry, I think they had been made earlier on in the day. Initially we had been given 1x scone each, I asked for more, which they were happy to do, but took 30mins to arrive. One guest does not drink tea, so was given a mocktail (1per a person on the voucher) when we requested the remaining Mocktails they brought over 4, when they realised we had already had one, they took one back, left it on the side before throwing it away. With all the delays, I would think they would have given it to us?! We were there for over 2 hours, mainly waiting on things.

It is not a very nice afternoon tea, the quality of food is not great. We left a lot of it- thankfully I had a nice time catching up with my Mum and Sisters- I wouldn't recommend it.

I am blind and therefore a guidedog user�

Me and my friend where going to 50 Gloucester Road on Thursday.

Due to company rules we either had to sit outside or sit inside with the dog”my eyes”,outside?!?

Which is against the UK rules.

Due to being blind I am discriminated by Fait Maison. Very sad,after all I’m just a person like anyone else�I just can’t see...

I have written two emails,no respond.

So I will attach the UK law here:

“Guide dog and assistance dog owners have important rights under the Equality Act 2010 (EA). The EA provides for people with disabilities to have the same right to services supplied by shops, banks, hotels, libraries, pubs, taxis and restaurants as everyone else.



Under Part 12 of the EA it is also illegal for assistance dog owners to be refused access to a taxi or mincab with their assistance dog. Medical exemptions are available if drivers have a certificate from their GPs.”
