This morning we saw our lovely little Bichon Bruno. He has been swimming with us for nearly 9 months now, he suffered from a cruciate ligament rupture and he has been working hard in the pool to build up his hind limb muscle mass. 💪 He likes to sit on my lap on his rests so today we got a selfie.

Announcement to clients with bookings for today, there has been a bad accident on Burnham Road just near our centre. The road is currently blocked off by the emergency services so please allow extra time when leaving for your appointment as alternative routes may be necessary. Please contact me if you will be late today, thank you.

Little Flo watching to make sure I'm doing my job properly! In the pool we have Gulliver who has been swimming with us to maintain his arthritis and his weight whilst keeping his muscles strong to support his weakened cruciate ligament.

This morning we saw Thea for her first laser therapy session after an injury caused her to become intermittently lame on her right hind. She is now suffering from some stiffness and pain through the area which the laser will ease and she will be back up to mischief in no time. As a nervous rescue dog she did very well today and managed to relax into her session, we look forward to seeing her next week.

Here we have Vinnie the Frenchie, he has been swimming with us for 2 years plus now after having surgery on his cruciate ligament. He is doing so well in his sessions and we are working on keeping those hind limbs as strong as possible. Keep up the good work Vinnie boy.

🐾🐾Laser therapy can help treat various conditions.
Laser therapy provides natural anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. Treatments can successfully manage conditions minimising or preventing the need for oral or topical drugs.
If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment please contact a member of the team🐾🐾

Phoebe our golden oldie has joined us today from the kennels for a swim while her family are away. Phoebe is 13 years old and likes a slow and steady swim; she usually comes fortnightly to maintain her condition and keep her arthritis at bay.

Today we met the lovely Missy who will be swimming with us due to a cruciate ligament tear. She took to swimming so well today and we are so proud of her. She had the support of her brother Troy and sister Roxy who also swims with us at Farcroft.

🐾🐾This is the reason why the correct sized toy should always be used when playing with your pets. Thankfully this dog was one of the lucky ones!
Even in hydro we constantly have to check our toys are appropriately sized to ensure your pets safety🐾🐾

I'm so guilty of this as are many of us I fear 😂

Today we met the beautiful echo, she suffered with a stroke like episode called ischemic myelopathy in May and has been having physiotherapy and massage therapy ever since, it has now been suggested she has some hydrotherapy to build up some muscle loss and weakness. She did so well in her first session today and I'm looking forward to working hard with her to get her back on feet 💪

🐾🐶🐾 Obesity doesn't just impact health and quality of life in pets, it also impacts the amount of money we spend on veterinary care.
There are a number of factors that we as owners can put into place to help aid weightless... hydrotherapy being one of them. Swimming provides these dogs with a weightless environment in which they can exercise without the added pressure on their joints.
If you think your pet needs to loose a few extra lbs why not drop us a message and see wha...t we can do for you and your furbaby 🐾🐶🐾

🐾🐶🐾 This highlights the importance of regularly treating your pets for fleas and worms. Please remember if you use a 'spot on' wormer or flea treatment that your pets cannot swim for 24 hours until the area is completely dry.
This allows the medication to be absorbed into the skin and prevents contaminating the water. Swimming before this period can make your treatment less effective 🐾🐶🐾

Post swim cuddles with Tia today while mum put brother Spartacus in the car. Tia has been swimming with us for a while now due to having a luxating patella and only 3 formed limbs. She is doing really well and mum has noticed her strength improving in day to day life. Very proud of this little bat eared cutie.

📷🐶📷Useful useful useful tool! Your camera!
Taking video footage of tour dog walking and swimming provides both us, your vet and your physio useful information about their treatments and to ensure that they are on the right path, allowing us to clearly identify improvement or deterioration in movement.
... Even more useful to watch some with slo-mo!
Record a video of your dog today. Let’s see them move!📷🐶📷
