A great big gin-soaked thank you to Bridget, Jenna and Emily whose research, humour and total irreverence helped us blow the socks of those delicate romantics in a truly cotswoldian fashion. Cheltenham - you were great, have us back! Thank you also to our excellent crowd and to whoever provided all that gin! It's certainly not quite a Coleridge-level come down but I'm for sure getting an early night tonight. ππ½ππ½ππ½
A big thank you to everyone who came to our big Sex Ed lesson earlier this month - thanks to ticket sales we were able to donate Β£310 to HERA's project "Prevent Trafficking in Women through Entrepreneurship" - Give yourselves a massive round of applause ππππ
Just over a week to go - time to teach those pesky romantics a thing or to about female agency! #LitCrawl #CheltenhamFestival
"She walks in beauty like the night" ... Sure George, but could you tell us a bit more about her hopes and dreams?
The Feminism Poetry & Gin team - and our three very special guests - are landing at Cheltenham to give some control back to the nameless women who inspired some of the world's most beautiful works of objectification.
Keats and Coleridge have nowhere to hide as we take down their most ridiculous metaphors and manly musings. With opportunities to share your own f...avourite bits of pedastooling and regency slut shaming, we're lending a whole new meaning to bodice-ripping.
Anarchic and informal, the FPG team started out four years ago in their friend's sitting room and that's exactly the mood they seek to bring to their public events. So give in to the gin and join them for a bit of Byron-bating and some Percy Bysshe-bashing.
Oh and it's all free!

... The cool older sisters of Feminism Poetry and Gin are here to give some control back to the nameless women who inspired some of the world's most beautiful pieces of objectification.

Sold Out! This is amazing - thank you to everyone who's bought a ticket, team FPG will not disappoint you πͺ To the rest of you, we're already working on a follow-up so look out for a pre-Christmas date (*googles* mulled gin recipes)
Hey y'all - we're a week away from Feminism Poetry and Gin's inaugural night at the The Book Club and with just 10 tickets left up for grabs we're close to sold out! So thank you to everyone who's already bought one and if you've got friends who you know just haven't got round to it yet well then - sound the alarm!
We thought you might want to know a little more about what we're going to be getting up to and how you can contribute to the content of the evening. So here goes:
...1. Breaking news: Hendricks Gin are kindly sponsoring the evening which means cheap gin cocktails all night, made and designed specially for us! 2. Poetry - it's there in the title and along with an exclusive spoken word performance from up-and-coming poet Hannah Riley we'd love to hear from you! There'll be time set aside for all your poems, whether you've written them yourselves or want to bring an old/ new favourite by someone else. 3. We've got a gold box of secrets which you'll be able to anonymously add to throughout the night so start remembering all those long buried embarrassing stories about sex, sex ed or anything else you've always wanted to get off your chest. 4. The main part of the evening will be interactive workshops about Sex and Relationships led by our very own Catherine BG looking at the practicalities of the subject as well as our wildest hopes and dreams.
I don't want to give much more away but expect to be entertained and educated. And doused in gin!
See you there!
Team FPG

The line-up is hotting-up with the addition of Catherine BG to guide us all through the myths and misconceptions of sex and relationships. Catherine is a trained facilitator who's run sex education sessions for teens as well a peer education projections around healthy relationships & self esteem. She's also run workshops helping young people develop strategies against transphobic and homophobic bullying in their own communities. Clearly we're going to be in safe hands.
N.B: The Feminism Poetry and Gin team can assure you from experience that she's also extremely funny and has the mouth of a trans-inclusive feminist sailor!
