FPM in partnership with Islington Council, Islington Police and British Transport Police organised a workshop event for its students and their parents on the importance of reporting hate crime during the National Hate Crime Awareness Week. More than 40 children and their parents attended the workshop whose many of them shared stories and experiences they faced in their daily life and asked the police for advice on how they should deal with it. Also concerns been raised about the recent reports which show 40% rise on hate crime comparing with last year and 52% of the religious hate crime (Islamophobic attack) are on Muslims.
We had a very positive feedback from the children and parents who asked for more awareness event like this.
Many thanks to Islington Council and the Police for participating in this workshop.

Finsbury Park Mosque took part in Arsenal FC hate crime event during the national hate crime awareness week on Wednesday 17th October at the Emirates Stadium. We had a stall with other Faith organisations where group of 10/15 children from the 106 students from 3 primary schools year 6 attended, they moved around the tables/workshops listening to presentations and asked questions.
The feedback we had is very positive, we provided an interactive and engaging session including a quiz, discussion, game etc. We also exhibited some of the solidarity materials we had from schools after the last year Finsbury Park terrorist attack.

What has happened yesterday in Liverpool Road in Islington is very worrying! Stabbing is a major problem in our society and @metpoliceuk should be given all the resources needed from the government to deal with it properly, our thoughts with @MPSIslington injured officers, we wish them a swift recovery

User

Many thanks to Sobell Leisure Centre for offering our children the Trampoline Park, around 135 children from the Mosque enjoyed the session and the feedback we had from the parent is very positive.
