Calls for all university students to learn first aid, as Red Cross warns majority of deaths could be prevented http://ind.pn/2fc8688.

FALSE: If someone is having a nosebleed you should lean their head back. WHY NOT: Leaning back may cause the casualty to swallow the blood and that can make them feel sick. It is also much harder to see when the nose bleed has stopped. WHAT TO DO: Apply pressure to the nose and lean the casualty forward, this way the blood is not going down the throat and you can easily monitor when the bleeding has stopped.

FALSE: Apply ice to a burn. WHY NOT: Applying ice directly to a burn can further damage the delicate skin and cause ice burns. WHAT TO DO: Hold the affected area under cool running water for at least10 minutes and get the burn assessed by a medical professional.

Expert advice on sunscreen; can you burn through glass?how much sunscreen should you use? What do the numbers mean and what factor is best?

We had the emergency first aid at work course. Very easy to arrange and the feedback from everyone attending was great. Would highly recommend!

We LOVE Emma! She is a true professional. Her courses are better than any others that I have attended and her staff are fantastic and friendly.

The Emergency First Aid Course at First Aid for Life was extremely helpful. I now feel confident what to do if I were to come across an unconscious casualty, or the emergency steps needed for bleeding, choking and other critical situations. I thoroughly recommend this course

User

Recently completed another first aid course with them and I always love it and learn so much, this was my 4th time with them and will surely come back.

Thank you team for another great experience

User

Just back from my third course. Absolutely brilliant teaching! Well done Andy

User

Jennys amazing, super teacher! Would recommend! :-)

User

Jenny was fantastic, covering all the bases in detail. A really fun and informative course.

User

It is great to give you that extra bit of confidence as a new parent. A workshop well worth doing.

I've done quite a few First Aid courses, but this one with Dan Spencer was far and away the best. Not only does he have a great teaching style getting information across in a simple straightforward way but he does it with lots...did I say lots ! of humour. This was no academic delivery, Dan taught us from his perspective as a paramedic - this is what I want you to be doing whilst I'm blue-lighting my way to you to ensure the most successful outcome possible for the patient. Thanks Dan.

I have wanted to do a first aid course for a long time, both because I am a mum and because I want to be able to help an adult if need be. Andy ran an interactive, engaging and practical course this morning - it was brilliant. I now feel confident that I would know what to do so would definitely recommend. I will rebook this course every year to make sure I keep confident.

I attended the First aid for pets course and as usual it was delivered to the same high professional standard of other courses.

Great trainer, well delivered course and left feeling confident I'd be able to deal with an emergency situation with my/other dogs.

User

Great training team. Very adaptable courses and a pleasure to work with.

User

Great course for teenagers first aid awareness: accessible and enjoyable this course has given my daughter a good understanding and awareness of what to do across a wide range of real- life emergency situations. Many thanks Emma

User

First Aid for Life recently did a first aid course aimed at families - covering CPR, defibs, head injuries, strokes, and more. Invaluable knowledge and excellently presented to the group.

User

Excellent course - very thorough and engaging. Loved that there were explanations around the physiology of the techniques and skills learned so it made sense! Never had this before. Great to be taught by a paramedic who knows what its really all about. Nice job Dan!

User

Doing excellent job! Videos are with such a detail information with practical tips so any one can get first aid information easily.
