About Frevd Bar

FREVD is pronounced "Freud". The V is an upper case Roman U. We liked the form of the letters. Established in 1986, FREUD was the first cafe-bar. Its secrets include its architecture, its cocktails, its staff and its patrons.

Please return our cushion!
Last Thursday Night, at nineteen minutes and forty-five seconds past midnight, a customer leaving FREUD took away one of our black, leather cushions.
It was a poor return for our hospitality.
... Like all of the other cushions upon the stone benches that line our walls, it was made to measure to fit, to look good and to keep our customers comfortable.
We know when it was taken because we have CCTV.
The man who took it was with a group of friends. They spent a long time in FREUD on Thursday. From the film we have of them, they seem to have been having a good time. We would like to see them again and to put down what happened to an act of exuberance.
If the cushion is returned to us, we will say no more about it and we will ask no questions.
Thanks,
FREUD

New word 'cacciocavallo' - A fantastic cheese from the Appenines. In Italian caciocavallo means "Cheese on horseback" and it is thought that this derives from the fact that two of this cheese forms are bound together with rope and then left to mature by placing them 'a cavallo', i.e. straddling, upon a horizontal stick or branch. - We do our homework! Lunch is served from 12 til 4:30 x

best vibes, great music, super chill, great atmosphere. Go!

Such a friendly staff, they are open and willing even to make you new drinks even they have a huge list!

Really nice and cozy british London bar. We went there at Thursday night and it’ s really lovely. Only some london citizens came there. Good choice music. It’ s underground but it doesn’t seems confined. Prices are quite normal beers around £4 and other drinks as coctails etc. from £7 to £9... We really liked the art interior with paintigs as it’s included in the name “gallery”. Really recomend to you. Waiters/barthenders were really nice. We felt in love with it!

One of the coolest cocktail bars in Central London, and it is so easy to miss. It is only accessible by a steep stairway to a cave-like room beneath Shaftesbury in Soho, so be sure to look down when you get closer.

Cool crowd and easygoing staff, if you want to surprise your friends, take them here.

My great friend and I wanted somewhere to go for a drink after Les Miserables, since the pubs seem to close at 11pm. I am 68 and my friend 44. We were both considerably over the average in Freud Bar, which I would put in the upper 20s. It was loud and busy, and all the better for that. We got served quickly and managed to sit down together. The cocktails were excellent. We left soon after midnight to get back to Upminster by train. A lovely end to a happy and varied day. Cocoa and slippers on a Saturday night can wait for a few more years!

I love it - I've been coming here for years it's wonderful bohemian tawdry and glammy try very good margaritas or cognac and coffee

I looove this place and its staff. How refreshing (and literally) to have an individual independent bar, with cocktails made creatively with style. Those guys know their stuff! Beats the chain companies! And music that is not the samo samo! But full of high calaber cool taste. Upstairs will re open soon. This place deserves to be swarming.

Brilliant venue with a great after theatre-before club vibe. The huge list of cocktails is great and they are great quality too. I was surprised at just how big the cocktails were and they didn't skimp on he booze either. I was expecting London prices, but the prices at Frevd were really reasonable.

All in, I was really impressed and will definitely make a return visit next time I'm in the West End

Brilliant atmosphere, friendly staff, great cocktails, perfect way to get away from the tourists and annoyances of London for a few hours !

User

Best cocktail bar in town.

But keep it a secret.

Went last night for my hubby’s birthday. Fantastic cocktails, friendly staff and loved the choice of music.

User

Awesome bar and great atmosphere with the most amazing cocktails

User

Amazing staff, awesome selection of cocktails and a friendly atmosphere. Loved it! Was a great first experience and happy to go again when I'm next in London! My hidden away gem of a bar!

User

We came across this place while heading to a different bar . A great find, casual, relaxed with a great vibe. Very mixed , diverse and friendly crowd. Mega cocktail list .....a bit of a wait at the bar. Will definitely go back when in the area.

User

Nice cocktails, friendly staff and loved the art on the walls.

User

Amazing cocktail selection, I was having trouble deciding and the bartender chatted to me about what flavours I like to help me choose and didn't make me feel rushed. Only reason it's not a five star is because the ladies' could use a little love but it wouldn't stop me returning.

User

Really friendly staff , good drinks at reasonable prices. BUT ! Very dirty I know it's meant to be industrial ( cheap way of not spending a lot on decor ) but please clean up people x

User

Great location and very typical of most bars at the moment. Lots of choice but found cocktails didn’t really deliver, also very dirty as per other reviews feeling of slight suffocation by filth!!!

User

yes the staff are friendly and they can make a good cocktail. but seating is limited. the place is dirty (I get that it's supposed to be grungy) and it smelt of damp socks. it's a little to try hard for my liking.a grate place to hang out if you're a wanna be hipster but not for me.

User

Having been here in the summer, and having a really nice time..... this time was a let down. The guy on the bar looked miserable, our cocktails were poor...... nothing like last time!...... we won't go again.
