Thanks to everyone who came along this afternoon. We aren't open Tunbridge Wells Heritage Open Days tomorrow, but there is a Bowls Match on, if you'd like to support them! Also cheers @table8 for coffee provision
Come along to The Hub today and find out what was here 150 years ago...
With The Friends group now being seven years old, some of our photos count as history!! Come along Saturday 8th September to Heritage Open Days in the (new) hub - 11.30am onwards, guided walk from 2pm
Follyshaw bridge and a pre-work swim in roundabout woods #autumndays (Jenny & Hamish Dog)
I love this time of year in our park. Beautiful views this morning. Aren't we lucky! (Jenny)
Join us a week today for some history, heritage and chat. Where was the swimming pool? Who was Lydia Hilbert? How has ancient woodland been preserved in the heart of the town? 11:30am - 5pm, guided walk meet at 2pm - all at The Hub.
We were sent this photo of a heron in Marnock Lake by Michael Holman of Refresh Tunbridge Wells - has anyone else seen it? We also have news from parks department about the lake: The smashed up pumps and the pump housing are being repaired, and this will probably take another two weeks, the water level will need to be lowered for this work.
One of the committee was in Tonbridge this weekend (shock! horror!) Really good to catch up on the history research on HMS Hythe, several of the dead had lived around Auckland Rd, Dorking Rd, Camden Rd, and are marked on war memorial in St Barnabas Church. Please have a look at Facebook page for this short film if you have time. Not long now until 2018 Heritage Open Days!
While we are sorry to see Steff leave her post as Community Engagement Officer, we wish her all the best in her super new job. For now Emma will take over the summer activities programme - check Grosvenor & Hilbert Park for all event details.

A community post! Firstly, see below about Love Where We Live awards. Secondly today (Saturday 21st July) - at The Camden Centre, 12noon -2pm, "Stronger Kent Community Fair" - we aren't having a stall, but lots of others are, free entry + free tea & coffee!! So if you are in town, pop in and see what's there.
Fun at the picnic with games, thanks to all who came #LoveParksWeek
It's our picnic tomorrow, and the weather forecast looks - brilliant! Don't forget - we have the games, you need to bring food - why not bring things to share - and something to sit on - come and meet your neighbours and show you Love your Park #loveparksweek Keep Britain Tidy http://www.keepbritaintidy.org/…/suppor t-ou…/love-parks-week
Enjoying the afternoon in another town park! It's been great weather for The Mela, and had a chat about the 2019 Winter Lantern Parade with Create & Round Table.
Earlier on in the week we mentioned our Community Picnic on Sunday 15th July. If you don't want to make your own picnic, why not look at this offer from Il Vesuvio Restaurant @camdenroad - or stop by Table 8 Cafe on your way to the playing field?
Much the same as last year for The Great Get Together, just we have opted for Love Parks Week! We will bring some games, you bring yourselves and picnic, stay as long as you like, meet your neighbours!
As part of Love Parks Week: http://www.keepbritaintidy.org/…/suppor t-ou…/love-parks-week Bring your own picnic, rugs, chairs, and join us for a chat and games. Weather permitting!!
