Class timetable re-structure. A heads up on the slight restructure of the class timetable.
All 10am Classes mid week will become Crossfit Lite ... All 4.30pm Classes will become Crossfit Classes All 7.30pm Classes will now be Crossfit Lite
This will go live as of Monday - if you are mid way through on-boarding and this affects you - please speak to your coach as to how best to get through on boarding and into Crossfit.
Cause remember - if you can do Crossfit Lite - you can do Crossfit!!

What an amazing set up. Fantastic coaching staff full of encouragement and professionalism. Huge mix of awesome people from complete newbies, all shapes, sizes, ages and ability. Not one person is left to feel out of it. It's amazing what you can achieve. Totally addicted and can't recommend it highly enough. I had issues with lower back pain 6 weeks ago. It's not there now. Feeling strong.....and this is only the start. This is not a "high street gym" ..... This is real. Go on you know you want too

Well equipped gym with knowledgable and friendly staff who are happy to take the time to show you correct techniques and to help push your limits. Hard work but rewarding with results you would not see by training on your own in a gym. First class!

This is a fantastic box. I did a drop-in WOD and was impressed by the quality of the facility, as well as the attention of the staff. My class includes a diverse group of athletes, and our coach Sam did a top notch job of welcoming the group, explaining the movements, and discussed scaling options as appropriate. While I wasn't there long, I could definitely sense the community spirit, and for sure would recommend to anyone looking for a great workout in St. Andrews.

Love my 6.30 crossfit! I would never have done a class like this 6 months ago but now I'm a total convert... Sam, Kirsty and Tom are brilliant and take time to explain form, get to know everyone and encourage them... really welcoming and good atmosphere to get fit in :)

IŌĆÖve always wanted to do CrossFit but thought it was a bit crazy. But I made the right decision and loving it. Looking forward to feeling stronger and fitter. And this is the place for it.

I've heard great things about CrossFit but I didn't think it was something I could do - I'm not physically fit and honestly I don't like exercise. I decided to give it a go and I'm so glad I did! The coaches are amazing and the people who work out there are so helpful and supportive too! It's so much better than sitting on an exercise bike or a treadmill for 30 minutes. It's rotational so I don't get bored and it's challenging so I surprise myself by what I can achieve - and all this in a great supportive environment. I can honestly say from someone who hates exercise - I love this! I'm so glad I took a chance and gave it a go. If I can do this - anyone can. Thank you everyone at Functional Fitness for making me feel so welcome and being so supportive!!

I started back in May 2017, one day a week, and now up to 5 days a week. It's addictive. It's a wonderful addition to my running (And I have got over a min/mile faster) and have pretty much dropped my other non FFSA gym visits now, as they seem bland in comparison. I feel this is a better way of being fit. Fitness as a lifestyle rather than a chore.

The trainers are really encouraging but dont let you get away with cheating. And sooo patient. I get so frustrated not being able to do certain lifts and they are always brilliant at showing me my mistakes without making me feel self conscious.

And loads of women there too which is so nice! All ages, all backgrounds. They do an incredible job of being inclusive and diverse in their clientele.



I would highly recommend giving it a try. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to FFSA since March and I have to say, from the moment I walked in the door (on my own) I just had a good feeling about the place. This is the first time since I stopped doing sports that I have truly enjoyed exercise. The team are second to none, and the members couldn't be more supportive towards each other. Don't not come if you think you are unfit, there is no judging, just lots of motivation. ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

I had never done anything like CrossFit before but from the minute I apprehensively walked into my first session I was made to feel welcome and I was encouraged and supported. Everything I needed to do was carefully explained, and the trainers are very affirming. I'm totally converted to this kind of workout now, and have and will continue to recommend it to others!

I had a few work colleagues who were going here so plucked up the courage and walked through the door. Not an easy thing to do on your own, but I am now 18lb in weight down and at a push can just about lift 70kg deadlift. Whilst I still find it hard going, the benefits far out way my struggles, seriously if I can walk through that door, you can to ’┐Į

All the team are very helpful and make you feel comfortable, even if you can't do something they give you a different movement to do and work with you. everyone helps each other, the encouragement and enthusiasm is awesome! Having survived knee Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and many physical therapy sessions, I was warned I needed to be extra careful when working out. Squats and lunges among other movements were a big hell-no-to-the-no, and I kept thinking I wasn't physically able of doing them. When I signed up for a 17 day trial in January I was almost certain I won't continue, especially after the intense muscle pain which lasted throughout the first week. I really don't know what it is about this place, but I kept coming back. At first, I was asking for alternatives for the movements I was worried about, but slowly, I got the hang of it and started doing them all -even squats and lunges-no complaints. The trainers are all great and helpful, and everyone else is super friendly. Sam was born to be a trainer, he makes you feel like you can do anything, and keeps motivating you to push yourself even when you're doubtful of your own self. I went from being a lazy night owl, to becoming healthier and waking early to catch the 6:30 AM class. I feel stronger, my body looks/feels different, and I lost more than 12 kilos in the process! I had several of my friends join along with me, and will continue to recommend FFSA to people in SA.



So really.... if I can do it -despite everything- anyone else can!

Had my first CrossFit lite session tonight and I absolutely loved it. I was so nervous about going in but Frazer put my mind at ease and introduced me to everyone, everyone is so friendly.

I never thought IŌĆÖd say this but I can see myself become addicted, I look forward to my next class ’┐Į

Had a taster session yesterday love it. Sam is a very good instructor, and made me feel as ease. Sam made me feel confident when lifting and lifting to a level I though was not possible on the first visit.

Great classes and a really supportive environment. In the couple of months I have been going regularly I'm seeing a huge difference in my capability and I put most of that down to the encouragement to just push that little bit harder each time I'm really glad I gave it a go!

Fantastic gym with great workouts for any level and amazing people. From my very first session as a cross fit newbie Sam was extremely welcoming and made you feel part of the team.
