Gmdss Training Description
Following the decision of North West Kent College to leave the sector, GMDSS Training was started in 2013 to provide a South East England based centre to deliver MCA approved radio operator training. We are approved by AMERC, the MCA's awarding body for the commercial marine radio sector to deliver the full suite of approved qualifications comprising the General Operator Certificate (GOC), The Long Range Certificate (LRC) and the Restricted Operator Certificate (ROC).
We are also approved by the RYA to deliver and assess the Short Range Certificate (SRC) - the minimum requirement to operate a Class D marine VHF radio fitted to a leisure vessel.
