We went on the tour to Stonehenge and Bath Tour with Roman Baths this weekend (7.4.2018) and it was very entertaining. Our tour-guide - Dolly - told us a lot about UK history and customs. We really enjoyed the journey. Everything was smooth and timely. Definitely recommend the tour to others.

We had a fantastic driver called David who was on the orange route this afternoon, who's customer service was excellent and very friendly. He made our experience so enjoyable. From the three ladies

The day started out a bit hectic, our Eurostar from London to Paris was 30 minutes late due to construction. When we finally got to Paris it was 40 degrees, raining and windy and the bus that was supposed to pick us up was not present due to the delays. Michael our tour guide met us at the gate of the Eurostar and immediately was apolegetic and was tirelessly trying to resolve the problem. We walked a bit to our bus stop and got in and made our way to the Eiffel Tower, River Tour and The Louvre. He ensured that we took the most scenic routes despite all of the traffic and was very informative. A couple had been late to the the tour and called Michael to meet up at a later time and he courteously ensured that we were able to meet with them. Despite he complications that were out of our hands and Golden Tours, the tour was very nice and I would do it again if I could.

My friends and I went on the Christmas lights night tour! It was sooooo cold but it was also soooo much fun and beautiful! The tour guide was great and the driver was awesome!

User

My friend and I booked two tours with Golden Tours :The Bath and Stonehenge tour (May 29 )the extended Warner Bros Harry Potter tour(May 30)

The inner circle access at Stonehenge was well worth the extra money and also included tours of Bath and Lacock. Our tour guide, Andrew, was fabulous and entertaining! We did wind up with less time at Stonehenge but it was due to some of the other people on the tour being 15 minutes later than the departure time from our prior stops.Andrew was very clear about punctuality but it seemed to fall on deaf ears for some. Regardless, the tour was fantastic. (And the few tardy people went on to file a complaint. )

The Warner Bros Harry Potter tour was as fantastic as we had anticipated!

User

Ive just made an excursion to Stonhenge and it was soooo lovely. The driver (depurtured and came back on time and his comments were so interested and funny at the same time. The place was much better and magical than i actually thought. I highly reccomend to visit it.

User

If you want a energetic and fun tour guide in Spanish this is it. Sasha is the best in Golden Tour. Her knowledge and extra mile in everything will make your experience as unique. Highly recommended it!!

User

I went on the 8pm London lights tour last night. The weather was a shame, but still beautiful sights to see. Our tour guide was brilliant, she is a credit to you, she is very knowledgable and has a great personality, complimented by a witty sense of humour :-) hats off to you Tabitha! You were the icing on the cake.

User

I was stupid enough to book tickets for the wrong date. Even though the T&C said no amendments or cancellations I politely asked that my request for a refund be reconsidered given that my booking was over two months away. Thankfully Golden Tours did reconsider and my refund is now back in my account.

User

I took the day trip package to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Oxford. The coach was very well equipped with enough leg space. The tour guide Eugene was energetic and he kept the whole day trip alive with his energy!! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!!!!

User

Great tour and the tour guide was first class

User

Did the Christmas Lights-London by night 8pm tour last night. It was fantastic! The guide, Pete I think it was, was brilliant. Very fun tour which I would highly recommend!!

User

David was an amazing guide. We went on 2 tours with him and he is a true professional guide.

User

We used them for a Harry Potter studios tour and it was great, bus ride was comfortable and close to our hotel. Only one minor issue was encountering an unfriendly driver for the ride back; he was being replaced by another and didn't want to answer questions. But overall, very good.

User

We took the Eurostar single day tour to Paris, and our person that was to deliver our welcome packs was almost a half an hour late which in turn made a backup at the checking for the train, thus causing nearly every passenger that was waiting for him to miss the train. Those tickets were very expensive, and his consolation was a ticket for a free coffee drink at chop'd, even though we had only ten minutes to clear security and board. Aside from that, the rest of the trip was seamless.

User

Stonehenge and Bath tour. 5 stars if the sandwich was worth eating. It was nasty. Our tour guide Simon was fantastic as well as the bus driver Maris. He was very well educated and had an excellent sense of humor. They keep a very tight schedule and if you are respectful and on time you will have no issues. I would not want too add another stop as that would reduce the time slotted and need the explore the city of Bath. Well done.

Once Tish iur exceptionally amazing tour guide showed up (prior to that confused as to where we should actually be waiting for our coach i.e directions provided by office staff were unclear)the tour experience became 100% blown away fabulous! Tish was very knowledgeable with a great personality. Also, kudos to Kiran our driver who was very focused and safely got us to and from our destination. It was an extremely enjoyable relaxing day touring Stonehenge and Windsor Castle.

User

It was a good tour our guide I think her name is Sue. Very knowledgeable and funny.

User

Very poor live commentary by a young lad called Adam who look about 12 kept on telling us things too early before the bus arrive near what he was telling and going that quick he was on to the thing and the second bus we went on had no live commentary and when you plugged the ears phones they gave you the commentary kept on going over the same thing again and again very poor felt sorry for other people from other counties who could not understand English and the river cruise was more like going on a bus with all the stoping and starting and crossing the river

User

‪Was never able to go...Yea so NEVER go with Golden Tours for anything guys. Just sayin.

So with the UK wide RED ALERT for travel, trains being cancelled, authorities advising do not travel as its a “risk to life”. Golden Tours see it as still appropriate to refuse to change the date of our tour date because it would seemingly lose them money. In any other circumstance I’d understand it but its UK Wide.

Can we pls start a revolt against them? £125 wasted - thanks for your kind customer service and understanding Golden Tours

User

we were only late 5 minutes cause it was not easy to find the place. We did pay an amount of 138 pounds for our tickets for a morning tour, and we DID call them to say we are running to get there and they should wait us , the train was delayed it wasnt something we could do! anyway, we lost the trip cause they left, they didnt give us our money back, they didnt seem helpful, wouldnt book again

User

We waited an hour for 1 Golden tours bus to come.No communication from staff! AVOID THIS COMPANY!! BigBusCompany runs every 5min. AVOID GOLDEN TOURS!!

User

Very poor service .....................

User

Unclear information, tour started at the same time as we were instructed to pick up tickets elsewhere.

User

Tried out the bus tours in london today and although I knew the new years day parade would be on the 20 I paid or rather 75 pound my family paid was wasted on 2 hours of uselessness!! I can live with that but then for the staff at each stop we visited were just plain rude!! Either they were on the phone and flat out ignored you or they were abrupt and unhelpful!! You need to retrain your staff in customer service, working in the customer service industry myself I am well aware of what good customer service is!! Will not be using your company again and recommending to anyone I know to avoid also!

User

This is by far the worst company to book with. Extremely expensive and ZERO customer service. Don’t waste your money and go somewhere else.

The London hop-on-hop-off tour is a disaster. When we first got our tickets we questioned if we had to keep up with the receipt the whole day. The man told us that it would make it faster, but if you lost it they could look it up. My mom ended up losing hers and at the next stop they wouldn't let her on the bus until we argued with them for 10 minutes. We had two receipts for other passengers with us and the headphones we received on the first bus. They didn't follow the map at all so we didn't get to the places we planned to visit in a timely manner at all. On one of the buses there was a live tour guide who told us to throw out our maps because they weren't following it. When I tried to question him about getting to my location he was very very rude and dismissive. I asked the driver to let us off after that and he wouldn't let us out. He ended up taking us to where we wanted to go, but after 3 other stops that weren't in that order on the map. It made the experience absolutely terrible. We ended up deciding to hail a cab for the rest of the day even though it was super expensive to avoid the frustrations of this company. I would definitely not recommend. Unless of course you have no idea what you want to do for a day and don't mind people being rude to you, holding you captive on a bus, and taking you where ever they please.

User

Terrible customer service. They overbooked so we got in a bus with a broken AC in the middle of summer weather and started late for the worlds 13-hour bus tour my family of five has ever had! Tour guide read from a script - nonsense info also (e.g. Look at the Tesla with the open wing doors like Back to the Fuurr on through the dealership window). Rushed us at Windsor Castle and Bath. No bathroom break or fore-warning! Toilet was gross in the bus, we were late to Stonehenge and arrived after 6pm closing time. Guide lied that the Audio tour guides were broke in for all 50 tourists in our bus, when in fact when I asked, the Stonehendge ticket worker, he said we are late and lucky that he even issued tickets to us and that we can't get he voice guide because it was past 6pm. My three kids and us left the historical site with know knowledge about Stonehendge. Bus driver wasted an hour taking a shortcut and ended up backing up half a mile (inch by inch) jerking the bus uphill. Someone in the bus threw up and without AC or windows, in the heat, it was unbearable. I have called and emailed a complaint requesting for a refund. Advice to others for this tour - Look for another tour operator!

User

Terrible company to deal with avoid at all cost !!

User

So utterly disappointed in this bus tour! Don’t do it! If you’re planning to use this bus to get around London, DON’T!

I had booked a day tour for my son and I and were only on the bus for 1.5 hours and we moved maybe three stops past the most banal and uninteresting ‘sights’.

We’d planned on using it to get to various points during the day. The website tells you the buses come every 15 minutes - no they don’t - it’s half an hour at the least. We know this because we waited at the stop outside St Pancras in the freezing cold for 30 minutes and the bus didn’t come. So we got the tube to where we needed to be. Then we waited on Baker St to maybe catch the bus there. Baker St - we were headed to the London Eye. We had an hour and a half before we needed to be there. We thought that was plenty of time according to the schedule on the website! Nope.

The bus went in a circle around Shaftesbury Avenue then went towards soho or something. The driver very nearly hit a cyclist. Everyone on the bus saw it and gasped. Someone even screamed. He then got into the wrong lane and rather than trying to move out of it - he just sat there for 15 minutes and then went down a side street. We were on the bus for an hour and a half and we moved four stops. We asked the driver to let us off and he refused then just blanked us. We finally got off at the next stop and my son and I RAN to the London Eye. We saw the bus as it finally made it to Trafalgar Sq and it didn’t even go round it. It dived down a side st.

Our plan had been to see all of London and go to a few attractions - this tour wasted hours of our time and a lot of money. DON’T BOOK WITH THESE GUYS.

User

Sat waiting for a driver change for 30 mins now when we only have 3 hours available

Yesterday we were charged £60 for entry to the tower of london by the golden tours employee but not told that it shut an hour later so had no time to look at anything

Utter shambles when we have paid £74 for bus tickets and gone nowhere

User

My family and I bought 5 tickets from yourselves for a tour in London that included a visit to the London Eye.

When we arrived to the London Eye ticket desk, we were sadly informed that the tickets were sold out and we would not be able to take the ride. We were advise by the assistant at the Golden Tour office on our return to the bus station that our best course of action would be to email in the customer service team a request for refund as they couldn’t do anything there and then.

We are still waiting to hear from them, tried to contact twice already and they are just avoiding to assist.

User

I’ve been trying to find one of your buses for more than one hour and nothing...

User

It was terrible. The tour guide had a heavy Russian / slick accent and could not understand him. Not very interactive. Wanted to fall asleep.

User

In short, I would absolutely not suggest anyone book tours through Golden Tours. I booked two tours with them, one short tour and another long excursion, and they were both erroneous and a total scam. I have never written a review (positive or negative) online for a company, but Golden Tours was so horrendous that I felt a responsibility to deter other from booking their tours.

If you care to know more about why I strongly oppose Golden Tours, please continue reading.

Tour #1: This tour was called the Panoramic Tour of London with stops at St. Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards. We arrive at the Golden Tours office, and we wait in line 30 minutes after the start time. We get on the bus and our driver has no clue where the bus is meant to tour around. So throughout the entire time on the bus, our guide had to direct him around. This turns into us getting lost and behind on the schedule of tourist stops. Our guide was also incredibly clueless. I lived in London for a short period of time a couple of years ago so I'd like to think that I know enough to assess tour guides. Our tour guide started nearly every sentence with "I think" or "I don't remember the name of this so we'll move on." So, throughout the entire 90 minutes we were in St. Paul's Cathedral, I wasn't even sure if what he was telling us was just made up. Yikes. The only other stop on the tour was Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guards. The driver was so clueless that he didn't know where Buckingham Palace was, got us lost, and made us late to see changing of the guards. I could go more into detail about the unprofessional nature of this tour, but I think you get the gist.

Tour #2: This tour was a 10 hour excursion for Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and Oxford. Our tour was for July 20th. Our tickets stated that all tours on the July 21st, the Stonehenge portion of the excursion would be relocation to another random town. The 21st is the summer solstice and is closed for religious groups to celebrate at Stonehenge. As soon as we get on the bus, our guide tells us that Stonehenge is closed in preparation for the Solstice. I was immediately frustrated that Golden Tours sold tickets to an attraction that was closed and completely misinformed paying customers. Upon research, I learned that Stonehenge was actually open for most of the day of our tour. So, instead of rearranging the order of our stops (Stonehenge first, then Windsor Castle and Oxford), Golden Tours had an utter lack of concern or remorse for the 50 people who paid for a tour that would take them to Stonehenge.

So, I think it's obvious why I would not recommend Golden Tours.

User

I would give less stars if possible. This tour was a disaster! We only did it, because it was part of our London Pass and I strongly recommend everybody to NOT.DO.THIS!

The guy at the beginning of the tour was quite nice, the live commentary was good, even though the lady doing it had an awkward way of ending sentences. We changed to the orange line as soon as possible as we were heading to Regent's Park and the Zoo. What shall I say? The driver skipped several stopps, then left the bus on an other occasion to get a coffee. It took 25 minutes till he returned. We left the bus at Marylebone Road.

When we wanted to get back on, the next driver skipped the stopp at Albany Street. We saw him passing by on Euston Road... When we headed to Euston Statoon to get ne next bus, it drove off just the second we reached it... It was the same driver as in the morning.

So we waited for the next bus. As you can never tell exactly WHEN they are going to arrive, you better stay right there and wait...

The next bus was ok, but after a while the commentary stopped working and the driver wasn't able to sort it out. We left as soon as possible and used the tube instead. We did that during the last 5 days and had no problems at all. It's cheaper, faster and you can be sure that the next tube will arrive within 5 minutes.

User

I wish I looked up this page before we paid so much money and gone on that tour. Don’t book with this company. You’ll end up like me and never want to get on another tour bus for the rest of your lives. So much went wrong with our trip and really exhausting to even explain it all. Just don’t. I do not recommend this company. Not even the slightest. Look up Rabbies. I hear awesome things about them.
