Travelled from Cardiff to see my beloved CFC. Started calling in here the end of last season. Considering it was a match day and the place was heaving, didn't wait long for a beer at all. Superb service. Keep it up guys..
Since the new manager took over there has been a steady and great improvement, beer is much better and the food is excellent.
Lovely Local Pub, Very popular with the Chelsea Crew. beer as well on tap, Food, we had Breakfast, excellent , just a slight hiccup...The mushroom must have been cooked yesterday.....Later we went back for an early evening meal. quick, well presented and of course....good beer. yes , of course we shall go again
I was there with my mum partner and wee brother the staff r very friendly and helpful in every way I would love to go back again am from Northern Ireland and I was in London fulum for a wk it was the best I've ever had and I recommend the goose to everyone xxxxxx
I haven't been here in years, but loved it.
7 bar staff and got served quickly.
Best of all is, that they've got John Smiths as very few pubs have it near the ground.
Will be coming back !!
Great place to Eat and 🍹 drink very welcoming places but will say they messed up on our order and charged us for a beer that was supposed to come with our food but because it was the waitress mistake I be leaving we souls not of had to pay for it as she thought we say side water instead of a cider beer
Very friendly staff and clientele. Our meals were great. They had a ‘family table’ so our teen daughter was welcome. I would go back and recommend.
Nice pint of John Smiths and seeing as tho we're from Leeds was like home from home .Lovely food good value and well cooked .Really enjoyed it
I visit on most match days so taking into account that it’s always packed to the rafters they manage to do well. Cheap drink and ok food. Plenty of bar staff but can be a while getting served as so busy.
Great food on the Friday but had stopped serving just after 8 on the Saturday, so we had to go to the Italian next door, which was also delicious.
First time I’ve been in the Goose since under new management, enjoyed it ,a few beers and burgers with the family although a bit tight on chips but very tasty. Didn’t go in there that much before as landlord was a scouser but may start using it again , wasn’t as busy as it used to be which is better for getting served !
UTC.
Defo a better atmosphere amd service with different owners. One visit got 1* but now it's a much better place to eat and drink. Great stuff
I've been there twice, once for lunch and once for dinner on a Saturday night. The first time I really enjoyed my meal, it was based on a cheeseburger and I really loved it (except for the bread which was a bit cold) but the dinner was a bit messy. I ordered sausages and mashed potatoes with peas, and after I've waited a very long time and asked to the waiter, the dishes finally arrived but it was very very cold. I was a bit disappointed about that. By the way the place is very nice and in a perfect English style, the staff is very friendly and the prices are very good!
Whenever I come to London, my first way is to The Goose.
This time I was very disappointed. So I wanted to order something, I was completely ignored for minutes. No idea why. The service had no smile or a nice word for me. I know this from before quiet different.
So I went to the nearest pub, where I was served very nicely.
A pity, because The Goose was my favorite pub in London for many years.
We were here last year, great food, great service. We ate there at least once a day during our week long stay. This year the food was barely warm when it was served and the portions were quite small compared to last year. Sorry to say but I with the family won't be eating there again.
We waited nearly an hour for the food, for it to come out cold, burnt and not enjoyable at all. Will not be eating here again!
Sad to see this place has rapidly gone downhill on match days since Reg departed. Probably about half the number that used to visit and twice the time to get served. Looks chaotic behind the scenes! The real ale is now shocking; Doombar cloudy, Tea ale cloudy and warm. Why they don't make sure they have fresh barrels on when they are expecting a busy day is beyond me? Wouldn't visit at all if a few mates (unfussy lager drinkers) didn't stick with it. Only drink from bottles now and visit to be sociable
Ok it was match day yesterday but the bar staff didn’t have a clue! At least 6 of them none of them stayed in one place so had no idea who was next. Not sure if there was a manager among them but it needed one!
How can the governor and his wife sit getting totally drunk singing rugby songs with there friends taking up most of the main seating area. While there great staff are run ragged And the icing on the cake running out of Guineas on st Patrick’s night. Do any thing but show how not to run a pub. And how can he lay down the law to anyone doing anything wrong. Sorry a poor show.
