This is just a fan page for one of the loveliest bars in the world. I do not work their or have any association with the place, other than that I think it a jewel of a place. I love this bar, but noticed when I started this page it had no online presence. I thought it deserved a place where people who felt the same way about this lovely spot could post their thoughts and pics.

What a wonderful place! Reminded me of the catacombs in Rome except for the wine and cheer. Thought I’d died and gone to heaven!

What a true hidden jem this place is. A cool vibe and great wine. Definitely a must when in London.

What a fabulous little hidden treasure seeped in history. Friendly staff, we had the cheese sharing platter which was deliscious and the best house red I'v tried!

Very different to any bar I’ve been to. Quirky, with a great buzzing and friendly atmosphere. The staff are really nice too. We enjoyed, cold cuts, cheese, olives and wine, all very delicious. I would come again.

This place is the best and most unusual wine bar that you will find. I urge you to go and drink a beaker of port. Exceptional.

User

The location is really suggestive it seems to be in a cave the wines and the appetizers are of excellent quality !!!

Although I had been at other times the location seems to be always like the first time!!

Lovely place if a little bit different as you sit in a cave. Welcoming staff and good wine. Would recommend for a great time with a twist.

It’s got to be Gordon’s! Can’t beat it for the wine& port & friendly staff! Get there early though as it’s hard to get a table & people stay for a good while! Food is great too

It's a small space in London where you can relax and be part of London's old history. An amazing candlelit space and a unique and exciting environment. It's an incredible experience to go to Gordon's wine bar, whether it's for just a glass of wine or cheese and meat plate.

User

Great place, was recommended & glad we found it. We shared a cheese platter & side salad and great value wine. We will be back next time we are in London

User

Great place, great staff, wonderful selection of wines, and an unbelievable setting which gives the impression of going back in time to the Dickensian times.

A must visit when in London.

Great little wine bar. A fantastic selection of bread, ham and cheeses. A great outside area (even in March). A lovely bottle of house red

Good, knowledgeable staff

User

Great little place but you have to be prepared to linger for seats...unless you are there ridiculously early!

User

Been going there since the 70's and just live the fact that is hasn't changed. Good food and wine and very reasonably priced. A firm favourite place

User

Been going for years. Great wine at reasonable prices. Place inside is full of character and pretty much takes you back at least 50 yesrs fulll of the original prints of the time. Huge courtyard to go to weather permitting. Cellar in the winter is amazing. Unique place and I believe the oldest independent wine bar in London.

Amazing little secret if u didn’t know if it u wouldn’t go in but when u do your be amazed fantastic little place and loads of history as well

This beautiful wine bar is spoiled with its rude and ignorant staff. I politely asked the guy clearing tables to clear my table as we took the only one available outside with seats. His reply was "yes, that's what I'm doing right now" as he laughed in a sarcastic manner and proceeded to clear other tables apart from ours. Another staff member refused to give me an additional sharind plate to eat from. I ordered a mixture of meat and cheeses and the pork pie for the two of us. An establishment as historic as this which serves great food needs to have staff who are more professional. These issues make me resent paying £60 for a light lunch and a bottle of wine. Next time £30 at the local beer garden.

Nice old place, with character. Prices way too high, but no different than the rest of London.

It was very busy and lots of tables needed to be cleared up? We pay top dollar to include good service. The UK is way behind the rest of the world regarding the basics, needed to provide acceptable service in this kind of business.

User

Loved this place for many years but today it let me down. Stale bread, had to go to local Sainsbury’s to get a French stick as the ‘oven was broke’. Poor show.
