Govan Law Centre

We are a free, independent, pioneering and community-controlled service originating in the South of Glasgow. We now have a presence in the North and East of the city as well. We have helped thousands of people avoid homelessness since 2005.

Govan Law Centre continues to grow and improve to meet the needs of our clients. As well as our long-established Education Law and Registered Social Landlord Units, we have also recently set up Public Interest Litigation and Private Rented Sector Units. In addition, we can claim to have the only dedicated and independent Personal Insolvency Law Unit in Scotland.

Govan Law Centre offers specialist advice on a wide range of Social Welfare issues. Our Solicitors can appear in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. Our Welfare Rights Advisor also appears on behalf of Clients at the First-Tier Tribunal in Benefits Appeals. Likewise, our Education Law Unit can provide representation at The Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland. Our Principal, Mike Dailly, is a Solicitor Advocate, with extended rights of audience before the Court of Session and UK Supreme Court.

Govan Law Centre also work closely with Glasgow City Council and local specialist agencies to ensure clients get a joined-up service that reflects their needs.
