Went to watch the England � V � Sweden match brilliant atmosphere and bar staff did really well serving such a large crowd of people

We went along for dinner to celebrate my sons birthday and had a lovely evening. The service was fab and the waitress couldn't do enough for us and the manager made sure the boys had basketball to watch on the big screen. The cocktails were lovely and so was the food and there was plenty of it. We ended the night with some 'birthday' ice cream and happy birthday sung to my son. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Me and my husband have been few times and have loved every visit.! We have been for breakfast and dinner and have been back a number of times.! The do the tastiest chicken wings! We visited the grand central in colchester recently and was horrified at the service and food.! So glad the Chelmsford one is nothing like it!!

I visited here for my final night in Chelmsford and I have to say the food was brilliant I ordered the steak and my sister ordered a half rack of ribs and they were both extremely nice and were brought out in a good speed considering how many customers there was the food was cooked perfect to my liking being rare and the service from our waitress hayarpi was brilliant she was very pleasant and great service from her I will most definitely be eating here again a solid 5/5 from me

I visited with my Mum, Dad & partner on the 31/10/2017 at 5pm. We came for dinner for my dads birthday, We were a bit weary as most of the reviews aren’t great, however we were very pleased with our experience, We were greeted and seated straight away, Drinks came quickly. Food took 40 mins to be served, which was absolutely fine with us as we weren’t in a rush & were chatting anyway, tho I must add, we were the only people waiting for food as the few other people in the restaurant were only there for drinks, so some people may see that as a long wait. When the food came is was hot and very tasty, Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had for a while, My family agreed with me and we all enjoyed the food ( the onions rings were amazing) 😀.. Only my partner had a dessert as we were all full, that came out quickly and was also very tasty. We finished off with cocktails, we all had a different cocktail and to be honest they were okay but could be a lot better. We all thought they just tasted like juice and that there weren’t much alcohol in them.

Lastly just to add, the staff were great, very polite and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us! Also the toilets were very clean and overall the whole restaurant was also clean and tidy. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Great food .... but could of had a burger actually in the pulled Pork burger & mint sauce would of just done too in the tzat burger or even some on the side in a pot ??

Food was amazing, venue is great, clean and well looked after. Service absolutely shocking. Waiting staff all over the place with no real guidance or idea what section to look after.

Went on Saturday 20th Jan for my sons birthday,I spoke to one of the members of staff regarding poor service we’ve experienced before and assured everything would be ok,nothings changed,food ok but very slow and not enough staff to cope.

Nachos we're ok. Bit dry and over cooked.

The cocktail I had (frozen daiquiri) was the worse thing I have ever tried. Tasted of water and vodka (not a great mix) no sweetness to it at all.

Chilly dog was ok. Chips were really nice.. but only thing that was.

The wait for food was quite a long time considering we was the only ones sitting inside.

The menus looks good but it just didn't live up to what I was expecting.

It was a Monday evening at 7pm. Apparently they are not used to having more than one table occupied on Monday evenings so only had 2 waiters (or 1 waiter and an assistant manager?). There cannot have been enough kitchen staff either. There were 2 tables of 12, a table of 6, a table of 2 and my table of 3. No-one came to take our drinks order so we ordered from the bar. We had to grab a passing waiter to take our food order. We ordered more drinks. Still waiting for food at 8pm... We were told everyone had ordered at once, but it would be 5 minutes. Was it worth the wait? No it was not. Spaghetti and meatballs with hardly any sauce, tasteless string-textured chicken fajitas (maybe old cooked chicken heated up a bit), slightly undercooked chips. However, the Coney Island Dog and cocktails were good. The assistant manager was begging us to return, just not on a Monday. Then he said, actually on a Monday, or any day. He would be prepared for busier Mondays from now on. Sorry, but we won't be back. I was planning on having my office Xmas meal there. I guess there would be enough staff on then, but if that's what they do to chicken, I have no hope for Christmas turkey.

If I reviewed this place when It first opened it'd be 5 stars all the way. I went there yesterday with my partner and some friends that were visiting who live a few hours away - and after raving about how good the food and the cocktails were I looked like an idiot as the food was no where near as good as when it first opened and the cocktails were nothing as they used to be � half the meals brought out were cold and had to be reheated too! the quality has drastically dropped but the high prices have remained. The only positive thing I can point out is the service, the waitress was lovely and helpful, however I won't be returning to grand central anytime soon (or recommending it to anymore of my future guests!)

We visited the Basildon restaurant this evening for my husbands 30th. There were 8 of us. We booked a 7.15pm table and it wasnt that busy at all when we arrived just the usual early diners at this time. We got seated at around 7.30 and ordered by 7.45. At 8.25 still no meal, as anyone would we asked where our food was and the response was “well it is busy”.....this is not an excuse especially as we ordered ages ago when it wasnt that busy and its a friday night what do they expect. 10 minutes later our food finally arrived. Some food was okish, some was burnt or really dry. We never really see a waiter/ress to order more drinks or if we needed anything. It was now dessert time i asked how long the wait was for dessert was the response i got “well that large table over there has just ordered theirs so 15-20 mins”. Which isnt the best customer service. We ordered & it came literally 15 minutes later, however some was wrong and had to go back. We was all polite and never moaned, more so as we didnt see anyone & was hungry and just ate it. It was to long wait for food & the replies to questions were not professional at all. We loved this place & went often. I can safely say we will not be coming back in a hurry. With bigger tables dining we just felt like we didnt matter. We will take our money elsewhere from now on.

The food was over cooked and full of grease. Had to return my 1 piece of sweet corn charged £3 as was covered it sauce that was on hands of chef. The room was stale and the place had food on the floor and the rails were dusty the glass walls looking down were covered in muck.

Manager should be ashamed it won’t be open long. On a Saturday night it was only 1/3 full!!!

The driest burger I have ever tasted. Waitress said they can't cook the burgers any less or it won't be safe. Whilst my fiancé opposite has a burger that is pink in the middle but also somehow so dry. What a load of tosh. Definitely would not recommend. Shame because it's a lovely building.

So first time at a grand central for my birthday today. Will be the last. Burger turned up pink it took 5 mins to get someone’s attention to say I wouldn’t eat it like this. Then another 20 mins for a different type of burger to be cooked in replacement. By this time my other half and little boy had finished and my little boy was becoming inpatient sitting around. So I had to quickly eat mine. Asked for the bill this still consisted of the burger I had sent back and the replacement. We was offered a apology but nothing else. Not even a free drink off the bill. Well thanks for a crappy birthday meal.

Shocking not child friendly don’t go here with children spoken to absolutely dreadful regarding the kids being quiet!! And it was empty so not as if it was really busy

Seriously over priced for what we were given. Had the tiniest portion of pork belly bites for £7 and beef chilli dog was mediocre at best - kind of like a frankfurter out of a jar type sausage.



Also when you order a margarita and it states on the menu that it comes with a salt rim and it comes with a sugar rim it's super disappointing and quite gross. Possibly the worst cocktail I've ever had. No waitress or waiter to let them know about our disappointment. Wasn't even that busy considering it was Mother's Day and it took us 2 hours from start to finish for our meal! Such a shame since I had high hopes of this place with it being just around the corner from my house.

My daughter visited Grand Central in Chelmsford and chose the £15 steak fajitas. It was a first and last time visit. Although the side dishes that came with it (sour cream, guacamole lettuce etc...) were plentiful they only had 4-5 pieces of thinly cut steak on the skillet amounts a huge amount of onion- nothing at all like the advertising picture . Apparently it is all “potion controlled” but my advice would be - if your hungry don’t eat there or eat before you go out. Just as well there are plenty of other restaurants in Chelmsford.
