It all started when… Robby Hecht & Caroline Spence met while performing at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in 2013. Since then, these two friends have gotten into the habit of taking time off from their solo projects to write and sing together in their hometown of Nashville and on tour across the country. Catch them playing again this Thursday August 30th.
“Robby Hecht sings like a whisper, like a hesitant truth that simply can’t go unsung anymore. His songs can invoke star...ry nights and fog rolling in on the beach. Lights turning off. Front porch silences and morning walks alone. Holding hands for the first time, letting go for the last.” - No Depression
NPR dubbed her “one to follow” and American Songwriter Magazine called her latest album, Spades & Roses “an album of stunning beauty and lasting impact.” Rolling Stone named Caroline as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know.”

Coming up this Sunday August 26th // doors 7pm - music from 8.30pm ...
Over the past 10 years, Seth Walker has become recognized as one of the most revered modern roots artists in the United States; a three dimensional talent who combines a gift for melody and lyric alongside a rich, Gospel-drenched, Southern-inflected voice with a true blue knack for getting around on the guitar. His latest studio album, Gotta Get Back, produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers, and its comp...anion release, Live At Mauch Chunk Opera House, further expand upon this reputation.
“…an accomplished guitarist and an even better singer, distilling the soul of Ray Charles, the Southern boy roots charm of Delbert McClinton, and an uptown blues turn of phrase (à la Percy Mayfield) into his own distinct voice.” – The Vinyl District

The Vagaband‘s soulful, rustic approach to their #music makes their extraordinary blend of #Americana, toe-tapping folk-jazz and soulful rock a unique proposition in an age where music is often presented in a way that is too studied, too knowing and somewhat safe.

Coming up on Wednesday 22nd August longtime East Nashville resident Korby Lenker!
Corby returned to his native Idaho to record his 7th studio album Thousand Springs, choosing to record his latest batch of songs in various places important to him as a child – the Snake River Canyon, Craters of the Moon, and in a small cabin north of Sun Valley.
After laying down the guitar and vocal tracks, Korby took to the road, adding more than 30 artists to his dozen songs, including Crit...ter Eldridge (Punch Brothers), Anna Tivel, Jeffery Martin, Anthony Da Costa, Carrie Elkin, Angel Snow, Amy Speace, Matt the Electrician, and many others. The result earned, among other accolades, a 4 star review from MOJO Magazine, who called it “Scintillating Songwriting from a travellin’ man.”

the green note is and always has been the most friendly venue in London and most other places too boot.

User

exceptional venue ~ the sound is superb, wonderful listening audience, great bookings ~ highly recommend 🙌

User

You walk in and feel right at home. Welcoming, friendly staff and a wealth of amazing acts to see. Will definitely be back.

User

Wonderful venue the management should be proud of how the establishment is run and the acts they give opportunities to.

Last night Two Ways Home were the headline act who I had not heard live before but where outstanding vocal arrangements musicianship par excellence with good songs made for a great evening

User

What a wonderful venue this is. Intimate, well run and crammed full of authenticity. Even the queue for the loo was fun.....I'll be back very soon.

User

Tight squeeze but really nice atmosphere nice staff good sound

User

Superb venue, excellent caliber of acts in a warm and intimate setting. A must visit for all.

User

One of the most intimate music venues around. Get here early though, if you need a seat (an important factor for elderly visitors like myself). All the performances I have been to were excellent, performing Rebetika, a kind of Greek equivalent of the blues. Looking forward to seeing more world music gigs at the green note soon.

User

One of the best folk venues in London. I've always enjoyed the music there. They've also been kind enough for a group of Leonard Cohen devotees to meet there and celebrate the man's music and poetry!

User

My new favourite place in London. Very nice atmosphere, great musicians, open to emerging talents and I've seen a lot of them.

User

Last time i saw Robin Williamson i was lying on my back in a field 1971 This was a bit more cramped but fantastic atmosphere with good beer and food . The man is a unique genius better than ever at 74 a true poet and also funny which I didn't expect.. his wife is delightful with a fresh unique voice ...brilliant ...should get out more.:-)

User

Its no wonder this amazing venue won the "Best Live Music Venue " reader poll via Time Out. With just 30 seats and a total capacity of 65 , its a wonderfully intimate space where the evening is all about the music.

Last night we had the pleasure of seeing three artists live:

Harry Pane - Gravelly, high-energy bluesman with guitar, harmonica and stomp board. What an opener !

Next up came Natalie Shay - a 17 year old award-winning singer-songwriter from London. Something tells me this lady will soon be playing huge venues - but to se her up close and personal was a real treat.

To finish we were treated to the intense soulful melodies of Alex Francis, who played a mean guitar, and spoke of a full band set I would just love to see. An absolute wow.

The whole evening showed that the live music scene in London is flourishing.

The Green Note is very, very special.

User

Incredible musicians, adorable staff, gorgeous venue :) And thank you for allowing under 14s. Tonight three generations of family were able to enjoy the Henri Herbert gig :)

User

If you like your serious music with excellent sound quality and lovely staff from the front to the back then this is your place. Lovely to share this venue with fellow serious music lovers...brilliant!

User

I have been to the Green Note a lot and I have always found it to be a wonderful fabulous friendly venue. The best, best occasion was the power failure Underhill Rose gig. It was so special. Loved it, love the Green Note.

User

I had my first Green Note experience a couple of weeks ago. An intimate ground floor affair of good quality entertainment resulting in a memorable night. I noticed in the flyers that another top notch artist was appearing at the Green Note Basement, snagged a pair of tickets, and later found out it had sold out.

On the night I found out how small the Green Note Basement is. Of course it's sold out, how lucky we were to be part of this select few and my only criticism is that I was so close to the artist that my camera had a job to focus. The sound quality was superb and the staff were very friendly. Thoroughly recommended, find an artist you might enjoy and attend with no expectations. Enjoy! ;-)

User

Great music, great staff, and great beer. They even have their own label beer too! :-)

User

Great live music venue with great company , the drinks are reasonably priced and the vegetarian food is delicious.

User

Great intimate venue for the discerning listener, where you can get in the zone.

Been a fav of mine for years.

Maddison's Thread last thursday were superb.

Quality attracts quality

User

Great evening out at The Green Note last Thursday. We saw two remarkable sets from Rebecca Ann Loebe and Robert Vincent who captivated a full house in the celebrated Camden music venue with their original songs and stories. A bonus too to catch up with Jack Harris again, there this time as a punter not performer. A warm and friendly few hours in Immy's and Risa's uniquely special concert snuggery - always good to return there!

User

For me the Green Note is the best venue in London. Run by two enterprising women, Immy and Risa, they have created a lovely atmosphere, good choice of drinks and vegetarian snacks. Plenty of time to chat before the show and in the interval but best of all people listen whilst the artists perform. Last night The Small Glories were performing. Wonderful americana/country music. They have lots like this along with folk and singer-songwriters and also some jazz. Entry cost is usually very reasonable.

There's also a smaller basement venue holding 25 people. Just as wonderful as the main room but very intimate. So good that I've hired it for a private gig later in the year.

User

First trip to the basement and won't be the last to this fantastic little live music venue.

User

Fantastic place, keeping music live! Lovely place to grab a jug and hear some awesome sounds.

User

Came for the first time to see Mosi Conde and loved every minute. Warm friendly staff, nice intimate space full of atmosphere. Great friendly crowd all enjoying the music.

User

Beautiful interior, cosy and friendly atmosphere, great staff and fantastic live music. Unique place!

User

An absolute gem of the London music scene. Specialises in acoustic oriented music (folk, gypsy, klezmer, country etc) and run by passionate music lovers. I have personally played there several times in different bands and it's always a highlight for me.

User

A small & intimate venue with one of the smallest stages in London but attracts some of the greatest acts on the circuits.

The sound is great, the atmosphere relaxed and informal.

Keep an eye on the snacks board too!

One of, if not, the best music venues in London.

User

great little venue in Camden. Deborah Carew swing trio were fab! very limited selection of food to snack on in basement, best to eat first if you want a proper meal.

User

I just love this intimate venue, whether up "upstairs" or in the basement. The clientele really appreciate the music and respect the artists.

User

Cool little venue in North London. Tiny little stage where you all get crammed in - just as live music should be

User

An award winning venue - deservedly so. An intimate space in which to listen to live music. Great programming with a variety of musicians on the roster from folk to alt-country, to roots and Americana amongst the genres. Living out of town I just wish that shows started earlier than 8.30 as often me and many others have to leave before the end to catch the last train home.

User

Very good music but the venue is very cramped and the staff gave us mixed messages when we queued for the event opening

User

A nice intimate gig but they could think about re-arranging the seating- access is difficult and if you need to go to the bar /loos several people have to make way!

User

It's ok, very small, cheap drinks though and great if you're a vegan!
