About Greenacres Kemnal Park

Cemetery & Ceremonial Park

Greenacres Kemnal Park Description

Kemnal Park is a brand new cemetery in London, set in 55 acres of landscaped parkland and woodland, which can offer a full range of services at this difficult time.

The Park has a rich and unique history. As a site of special interest, with its ancient woodland and diverse bird life, the terrain is both varied and interesting. From rolling lawns, a natural brook, hilltop views into London and a plethora of trees, each several hundred years old, the park has something for everyone. This slow drive gives a sense of calmness away from the fast paced buzz of the A20, providing serenity, grace and a tranquility found within the park.

The Corpse Project was an independent research and engagement project running from 2015-17, asking ŌĆśHow can we lay our bodies to rest so they help the living and the earth?ŌĆÖ. If this is something that interests you, their website is worth a visit; it has some fascinating information, including the results of their research and some sustainable alternatives to burial and cremation.

This column piece, whilst quite funny and irreverant, also illustrates brilliantly some of the advantages of planning ahead, and securing your own funeral arrangements.

ŌĆ£Change is the only constantŌĆØ- Heraclitus of Ephesus. With time the idea and style of funeral has changed. It has become more of a celebratory ŌĆ£See you soonŌĆØ than a somber ŌĆ£goodbyeŌĆØ. We see many funerals organised themed around the lost loved oneŌĆÖs choice or their lifestyles. Some wear a particular colour, some opt for a personalised coffin, some stick to traditional funerals as well. Choice of music also varies greatly.
Today we had a lovely family who said ŌĆ£see you soonŌĆØ in... a different way.
How was your tribute to your loved one? If you are comfortable send us photos and share your memory... You never know it might help someone at the time of their need. Because everyone deserves a perfect funeral.

Dear friends of Kemnal, Due to the very hot weather we are experiencing of late, we are aware that some of the areas in the Park are struggling with the lack of water. We are continuously reviewing the health of all our trees and plants. Any trees or plants that we feel need replacing will be replaced in the Autumn. We will inform you personally.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.... Kemnal Park Team

While going through all the messages that was sent to reserve tickets on our donation page we stumbled upon one: "I lost a very wonderful husband and father to our daughter. This would be a special way of remembering him on this day. Thank you." This is the sole reason why we organise our Mother's Day, Father's Day, Family and Christmas Events. As we believe only because your loved one is not with you, it shouldn't stop you from remembering them and celebrate your special ...relationship with them on these special day.
Join us in celebrating that special relationship this Father's Day! http://kemnalpark.org/fathers-day-2018/
