That's a wrap on GDIF 2018!
GDIF came to a jubilant conclusion on Saturday night with the final performance of Beautiful Thing. This spectacular outdoor production, which received a 4 star review in the Evening Standard and a standing ovation every night, brought to an end 17 incredible days of outdoor theatre and performing arts.
If you were able to join us we would love to get your feedback.... Could you spare a few minutes to complete our audience survey? It should take no more than 5 minutes and responses are confidential. There's also a prize draw and two lucky people will win a £50 cash prize as a token of thanks.

We'll be sharing more photos with you soon. Credits for these photos are: Victor Frankowski, Stu Mayhew, Doug Southall, Chris Arrondelle and Camilla Greenwell.

Pride Matters.
Pride in London's 2018 #PrideMatters report has shown that over 1 in 3 LGBT+ people have been verbally abused because of their identity, sexuality or gender, and over three quarters of LGBT+ people don’t feel comfortable showing affection to a partner in public.
Jamie and Ste, the central characters of Beautiful Thing, experience homophobic abuse and bullying where they live and, though set 25 years ago, this experience resonates for many today.
... We're proud to be retelling Jonathan Harvey's famous 'urban fairytale' outdoors in Thamesmead as part of the Pride in London Festival in celebration of the importance of being able to love freely and visibly in public open spaces.

Owing to injury Ballet Black are unable to perform at Dancing City tomorrow. We’re sorry for any disappointment caused. We are delighted that Ballet Central will perform duet ‘Black Swan’ and are very grateful to them for stepping in at short notice. https://festival.org/whats-on/black-swan/

What a great day out. Really difficult to see everything and a lovely surprise when Sir Ian turned up to open the gates. One v small criticism the Moon could have been better signposted as we walked all the hill to the observatory before discovering it was in the lower garden. But it was brilliant see you next year.

We went to a fantastic FREE open air show in Thamesmead. A well organised event with nice staff and friendly security even coming around offering a free spray of mosquito repellent.

A bar, hot food and a guy in pink shorts with gold trainers wearing angel wings walking around singing with a ukulele. There was a large gay presence for this iconic production as part of Pride in London 2018, when he sang YMCA the whole crowd joined in - just brilliant!

We sat on our blanket on the grass (free tickets) with cider, great music and a great atmosphere, as it got dark the show began at 10pm. Wow amazing 3D effects projected on the empty flats that are waiting to be demolished all to great 80’s music.

Such a creative and imaginative use of the empty buildings, it made you feel like you were looking through peoples windows with scenes going on inside.

Very realistic scenes with dancers depicting gangs and boys fighting around the flats and girls appearing and hanging out.

Even a bus turning up at the bus stop and people getting on and off, passers by and cars going through made it so realistic. As we were leaving groups of people were gathering to look at the lake with the iconic tower blocks in the background!

Just when you think you have seen everything this tops it. Want to go to the next one. 😊
