This is really interesting. A neuroscientist and dog lover designed an MRI study to find out if dogs really do ‘love’ us (as if there was any doubt 😍)

It is always nice when people take the time to say well done. We thought we should share the following review on Google: ''This place is a complete gem of a find. Our little one Ripley absolutely loves swimming in the pool and the staff on site. They are extremely caring, friendly and attentive, especially on the physio side of things. The facilities are modern, well maintained, and situated in lovely surroundings on the vineyard. Absolutely strongly recommend this for your pet for both hydro classes (seeing his face swimming around in a controlled environment with expert advice) or if your loved one needs rehab. Thank you team x''

Last chance for Early Bird registrations! Don’t miss out 😱

We absolutely support Cape Town for 2020! Please share!

Sadly we so often hear that students attending hydro courses elsewhere are not given much opportunity to handle dogs and spend time in the pool - sometimes they only handle or observe one or two dogs. For us that would be the hydro equivalent of driving following just theory instruction and then heading out onto the road!! Always check with your training providers BEFORE BOOKING to see how much 'hands on' you will get during a course and the qualifications and experience of the practical trainers!

On Tuesday and Wednesday we were in the classroom for theory lectures and in the afternoon our fast track students got their first chance to be hands on in the pool. We absolutely prioritise the importance of students getting as much practical experience as possible with experienced and qualified lecturers and trainers. Clients are really supportive of our aims to provide gold standard training and treatment and 'volunteer' to come in on training days with their dogs. We all owe them a big thank you for their generosity and contribution to animal welfare for future generations.

We have had sunshine for the whole week and this makes dogs and humans super happy as we can get outside! We have eighteen students including guests from Canada, Malaysia and Singapore - so this course has a very international feel even though we are at Greyfriars, our UK base. This album is day 1 - first aid

What can I say about this place that hasn't been said before. All the staff are attentive and are clearly passionate about their jobs and the wellbeing of their clients. I have been coming here for over four years now I think, and cannot fault them

User

We take Misty to Greyfriars every week and she loves it! It has made her stronger and it's definitely helping with her hip dysplasia. Everyone is super friendly and we look forward to going there every week!

User

Today I have just completed the superb fast-track course at Greyfriars Hydrotherapy Centre. The amazing staff there are putting dogs first in their life to professionally enhance dog recovery and welfare and I have never met and worked with such a dedicated team.

An absolute pleasure to have been on the course and would recommend this to anyone interested in dogs. You will be stunned at the results of recovery & enjoyment and overall improved quality of life for dogs and owners! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon... Mark H

The standard of training, compassion and care at Greyfriars is beyond awesome! I have just attended the Advanced Treadmill course having done the Level 3 fast track course there too. I cannot emphasise the ethical focus of all their work enough!

User

The staff at Greyfriars are all lovely and my once nervous little dally now loves her regular swims. She's come on leaps and bounds and it's helped no end in increasing her fitness and strength whilst recovering from a tendon injury. Thank you, from Kate and Bou.

User

Thank you to the team at Greyfriars, especially Kate our physio who helped us get Tyler back on track after a hip problem. A really friendly and professional team. Thank you all so much.

Quite apart from the professionalism (mentioned understandably in almost every review), is the sense of fun the staff impart to the proceedings. It's infectious and I am sure all the dogs (mine certainly) pick up on this.

To update: have just had a session with all three of my Setters, and they came home exhilarated and exhausted (a canine version of three days at Glastonbury I think, but shrunk into an afternoon). Magical.

To update again: it's an extremely valuable learning experience for - I think - any dog owner.

Oh joy! Milo has completely recovered from his summer injury and he has been officially discharged from rehab. However, I am actually going to miss our sessions at Greyfriars - initially I turned up a stressed mess and Milo's symptoms were severe but the whole team gently and expertly carried us through rehab, always aiming for perfection in results. Here we are now, about 3 months ahead of schedule and he is as good as new, all ready to go back to his gundog training. I can't praise you all enough. Thank you so much and love from me n Milo (we shall be back for fun swims!)

My weimaraner came to Greyfriars a nervous, unstable, in pain, stressed mess, following spinal surgery on a slipped disc. I was an apprehensive stressed dog mum just wanting to bring him home following his surgery and vet stay.

Greyfriars took the whole weight I had been carrying for the prior couple of weeks straight off my shoulders in mins of arriving! Angela and her team have showed him the upmost in care I could ever imagine and his recovery is coming on rapidly. I am amazed with the work and commitment from all members here and my pouch is a changed dog, less stressy and totally at ease with everyone.

This place and everyone here deserves so much accreditation and I would recommend it immediately, the rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, the location is perfect and ideal, physio and staff and surroundings for the dogs are all just great!

Can't wait for his return home and to continue the hard work Greyfriars has put in with him. Xx

User

Love love love love love it!!! Had the best time here for 10 days!! People are great, the team are great and the dogs are greater!! Can't wait to come back to learn more!! Thaaaanks!!! ✌️

User

Levi is so much better and loves his hydro. The staff are so professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

User

I was referred by my vet to help Bella lose weight. In 10 weeks she has lost 1.4 kilos which is over 10% of her body weight. She is so much fitter as well and it has made a great difference to her agility. Every member of staff is friendly and very supportive and would definitely recommend

User

I really enjoyed doing the March course. One of the best things I've done! Would 100% recommend to anyone who has a dog in need of hydrotherapy also!

User

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all staff at Greyfriars for a fantastic couple of weeks. Also a massive thank you to the owners and dogs who allowed us see how much of a difference hydrotherapy can make .

User

I have nothing but praise for the dedicated team that is Greyfriars. If they can help they will. The are experts in their field and I will be eternally greatful to them for the dedication shown when helping my dogs. They go above and beyond in their quest to give the very best for our animals. Professionalism personified. Well done to all and I look forward to seeing you all on the New Year.

User

I don't think I can say Barnaby enjoyed his first swimming lesson, but hopefully in a couple of weeks he will be more confident and I can relax when we go for walks by the river. All the staff we met were excellent and helped him to relax a bit. (It is very warm in the pool room though so I won't bother with a jumper next time.)

User

I cannot tell you what an amazing team of people work at This fantastic place . Without them we would have given up on our dog . Thank you all from the bottoms of our hearts for your amazing and continued care of Sebastien...

User

I attended the recent Fast Track Course and am impressed by the teachings from a dedicated team of trainers, including the auxiliary instructors aka the doggies models. The standard of teaching is professional. The logistics and admin support was fantastic. I truly enjoyed the course and am most glad to have fostered the bond of friendship and network amongst the trainers and my classmates. I would highly recommend Greyfriars to anyone who intend to embark on a journey onto the path as a hydrotherapist or to them should your furkids require treatments. The staff at Greyfriars have many many years of experience and have seen referrals for complex cases, which we have seen cases (video recording) of positive recovery results even though the prognosis is bad. Lastly, thank you Angela, Sal, Kirsten, Fran, Kate and team, for enlightening me with the knowledge and the positive attitude to embark into the whole new journey in the hydrotherapist community.
