A Worry Monster has moved into our children's allergy clinic to help young patients manage anxieties they may have about their condition.
The cute and friendly Worry Monster lives in the clinic rooms, ready to gobble up any anxieties that our young patients write down to share by putting them in its mouth. These worries stay there, so the monster has a mouthful of different thoughts that different children have put in it.

Whilst staying in London my 2 year old son cut his feet open on glass - came into ANE and shown through to children’s department. Within an hour my son was seen by triage, a nurse, doctor and also had an x Ray within the hour . Fantastic friendly hard working staff who deserve recognition for the work they do at this hospital. Thank you all so much.

Thanks to all the staff! I'm italian...I had an accident this afternoon with a cyclist and I was rescued promptly. Thanks!❤

User

Thank you to the surgeon (Ali) for fixing my ankle this week - no pain so far!!! Thank you to the Nightingale Ward, in particular the Portuguese nurse and the trainee nurse. The food was amazing. I didn't want to leave.

User

St Thomas' hospital saved my life. All the staff were amazing. They sent doctors and nurse to collect me from another hospital and had me in a coma on an ECMO and life support machine . I was out of it for approx 6 weeks. They helped me amongst other things to breathe on my own, learn to walk again. I still have a long way to go but it is by far the best hospital and I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful job they do.

User

OK this is a bit of a weird one but... I am leaving a review for more than 20 years ago for a team of people including Marcus Katchburian who was my consultant at the time who looked after me after a hit and run. I was in my early twenties and loved the team of staff. I had two broken legs and a bit of a smashed face but the nurses made me laugh and feel looked after despite the pain I was in. I remember feeling happy and relaxed on the ward and I have never forgotten the good people who looked after me during that over-Christmas 2-week Here's to amazing hospital staff who can make you feel cared for and make you smile no matter what else is going on in your life.

My son was in Guys hospital in 2003 as an 8 week premature baby with broncolitis and broncopheumonia x he was in PICU for just over a week on a ventilator and the most amazing lady was his nurse...All I remember was her name was Polly. I never got to thank her for her care toward my son and also to us as his worried parents xx she always had a smile on her face a d was always so positive even when things were not looking great xx if anyone can help me find her I would be grateful xx (she will no doubt not remember us as we were small fry 16 years ago....I also remember she loved Will Young as it was just after pop idol) xx

User

Massive Thank you to the thoracic surgery and Dorcas ward staff team they are fantastic from day one when I met my surgeon to now post discard with the nurse case managers supporting me with my care in the community including kicking my GP up the bum. Everyone on Dorcas ward was amazing the care they deliver is amazing even the little things like siting with you at night when you can't sleep to providing self recovery 24 hours a day even support you to walk around at night which is rerecorded post op, if you need to press the staff call button they are there in seconds to assist you (not leaving it bussing for a long time is fab for everyone) , compared to over NHS respiratory wards and care they are world leading and the care they give is outstanding.

If you ever need thoracic care or surgery get to Guys as they are amazing "thank you " :) x

In 2015 my son aged 19 was admitted to critical care with Sepsis. He then developed necrotising fasciitis alongside a number of life threatening problems.

He was gravely ill - there was a sense that he would not survive.

The clinical picture was grim and the battle was intense and desperate.

The critical care team were outstanding. The nursing staff were resilient and supportive and brilliantly knowledgeable and the consultants worked tirelessly to save his life.

Dr Luigi Camporota and Dr Guy Glover deserve a specific mention here. They literally never went home! Day and night their presence provided the most reassuring message and without doubt they made this life changing episode less distressing.

Dr Camporotas compassion and careful management of my anxiety and escalating hysteria is something that will never ever leave me. In the darkest moments they sat with us and navigated a way forward.

My son survived after a gruelling 6mth battle and today as we celebrate the 70th bday of the NHS I am moved to tears and endless gratitude for the unconditional exceptional care we received.

To every single member of the critical care team- thank you so very much.

User

I'd like to say a big "Thank You" to the nurses and staff on Dorcas ward who helped me while I was there earlier this month. Thank you.

User

I had an eye operation in the eye day centre at St Thomas'. Dr Rongxuan Lim performed my procedure. She is an amazing person. Highly skilled and with great empathy. I can never thank her enough for her kindness.

User

Having surgery is a worrying thing however I was put at ease from start to finish, all of the staff were lovely, my two anaesthetist were fabulous and I really enjoyed our chat before I was put to sleep as I didn’t have a chance to worry about what was coming! From the pre op area to the recovery area I was treated with kindness and respect. All of the staff I came into contact with are a credit to the NHS

User

Fab service received at Guys UCC in and out in an hour on a busy Friday evening with my 12yo CNS Raj was fantastic with her and put her at ease as she was very nervous only GSTT is the only Trust I would ever use and I am proud to say I work for you when you’ve delivered such a fantastic service to us this evening - keep up the good work!

User

Absolutely wonderful service at Guy’s Emergency Dental Clinic today. I went for an emergency tooth extraction. (An infected tooth that had broken in half, developed a whole & then infection). I was really nervous as I have a super strong gag reflex. The dentist (I can’t remember name though ) was really reassuring & talked me through breathing techniques to help with through the procedure & stop me gagging. Best dentist ever! Coming from a member of staff at Tommies (I’m a nursing assistant) it was lovely to find a fellow staff member with such a professional attitude & such a brilliant attitude towards patients.

my 20 year old son was refered to st thomases yesturday from his opticians we were in the urgent care unit till this afternoon then he was admitted to the stroke ward on the 9th floor which was stinking putrid with human poo to the point that he was handed a sick bowl ,he suffers from panick attacks when left on his own in un familar surroundings all he wanted was for me or his girlfreind to stay with him which was not allowed so he wanted to go home for a wash bag n a change of clothes which he was refused leaving him no choice but to dishcharge himself canilar was removed with blood pouring out of it to which the nurse said that was normal dressing had to be change because it wasent normal, then when we filled out the dishcharge paper she felt the need to say i offered you pjs to which was not true id only spoke to her to get her to speak to my charlie, she then felt the need to be screaming at the cleaning staff your my wittnesses she allso told me that my son wouldnt receive the results of the head scan he had done today and that the hospital would not treat him,she cant even justify how she treated my son its discracefull how hes been treated i will be taking the matter further and if anything happens to my son in the mean time i will be holding st thomases responsable for any harm he comes to my son

User

My mother in law has been in and out of St Thomas since Dec as they done a shockingly bad operation on her which resulted in her having 2 counts of Septicemia and Hospital Contracted Pneumonia, and acute pancreatis. They keep discharging her far too early after 2 days of being ok then within a week shes straight back in. Maybe they should make sure their patients are ok before discharge, as this is what they are paid for, so she doesn't keep getting admitted for problems they caused in the first place. Newspapers will be informed soon of their shocking actions.

User

Dear st Thomas's hospital - Thank you so much for giving me somebody else's drug prescription and allowing me to be poisoned and also to have no pain relief for 22 hours. Despite attempting to resolve unfortunately I was unable to contact the switchboard nor the ward that dispensed the incorrect medicines despite many attempts. So I tried Mr Jeremy Hunt, NHS England, lsl qcf and all of the other useless quangos. None of these provided any help nor advise apart from contact the hospital who I exclaimed were not answering their calls. Only when I threatened to report the matter to the police on grounds of been directly poisoned by the trust did someone show some concern by putting the phone down on me. Eventually 22 hours later and over 40 wasted calls did I eventually receive the correct medication. So thank you St Thomas hospita
