Hadleigh Old Fire Station Description
Hadleigh Old Fire Station (HOFS) was refurbished and re-opened in 2011 ahead of the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. HOFS is now a vibrant and well-used community hub and home to up to fifteen resident artists and a base for several community groups. HOFS is managed by ACAVA, an arts education charity, and has been developed by Essex County Council with the support of Castle Point Regeneration Partnership.
HOFS is a founder member of the Essex Network of Artists' Studios and a registered Arts Award Centre.

"What a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning" Great first session this morning, Introduction to Print - Monoprint. What lovely creative people, sharing ideas and getting a bit messy! Next Saturday - Lino Print, spaces available for the remaining Saturday sessions if you'd like to come along ... call Alan or Sue to book (see flyer image). Small friendly, supportive sessions and a cup of tea or coffee too!

Come and try your hand at Print, each week we will show you a different technique, Monoprint, Lino Print, Collagragh, Dry point and on the last week you can finish any prints not completed or create your own print using any of the techniques you have learnt previously.

We’re a teeny tiny bit exhausted here at HOFS HQ but what a weekend!! Our best yet we reckon. The sun shone for us yesterday for our Community Day as we welcomed in excess of 400 visitors, participating musicians & community organisations. Fabulous day. Fabulous Open Studios, Pop up cinema, workshops and local history events too with well over 400 people visiting/taking part across the weekend as well. So glad we could share it all with so many of you. Thanks for all the lovely comments too and we’re buzzing with ideas to take forward . Thanks for coming!

This is a great community venue. I have attended many events here and I have arranged 3 exhibitions on behalf of The Art Ministry. The staff have always been very accommodating.
It's a good community centre, ideally situated in the centre of Hadleigh, very well staffed. I go there for excercise classes and club meetings, talks and social night's.
