Restyle and root touch up for my beautiful friend tonight. We are going back to blonde next, so letting this purple fade as much as poss. Tonight I matched her natural root colour to keep those sparklies at bay but also in anticipation for the next colour appointment. Started this cutie off on a journey back to blonde tonight after many box dyes. With a natural 2 inch root, dark banding, and parched ends it wasn't the easiest of tasks and the result was by no means perfect. But after 4.5 hours give or take, it was lightened, toned, trimmed and straightened. The lighting wasn't the best for the after photo but the result was better than expected. Sooo many factors to take into account in this situation, tests we're done, decisions were mad...e and backs were broken but 1st sesh went well. What a change for this great woman who wanted to feel fab again after some personal hair issues due to no fault of her own. Soooo. 1st pic was my initial balayage which in parts I wasn't happy with. BUT...I was happy with the lift given the previous colour and remnants of red that were lurking in there. . . The right pic was after I added some foils to break up these pieces I was unhappy with. They were on either side under the top layer but I put in more than I needed today to get an even colour as I knew it would lift well being the second time. .... . So these few scattered foils using the foilyage technique, did just what I needed. Sometimes I make mistakes, sometimes I'm too picky, sometimes I just want perfection, but through it all I want my clients to be happy and feel amazing. . . I'm happy that those pieces are now corrected and we are well on our way to the lighter life with the trust and understanding of my client which is key when going from dark to light. Right I'm going to stop going on now. Oh and this is just blow dried noooo straightening. She has the straighter silkiest hair, which is also why we're going lighter gradually to keep condition at it's absolute best!!! . . So between my fabulous client and I, we decided to just go for it today and go for a full head bleach. There's multiple layers of highlights and natural regrowth but for one sitting, it lifted and toned well. Took this awesome lady very carefully from Brown to Blonde today. Worked in 3 sections to keep the structure of the hair as strong as possible as it was on the fragile side. So did the bottom section 1st and washed off, top, then sides. I gave myself plenty of time which is the beauty of being mobile and kept her as my only client for the day. This great lady had some old warm highlights that we decided to tone to a nice creamy blonde with an added root smudge and a few cheeky highlights to add more depth, working with what was there. I levelled up the cut a tad, as she's grown out a graduated bob and snipped off those split ends. Her roots will grow down keeping the natural look, and maintenance to a minimum.
