What can you say excellent from arrival to leaving, good food and service. On arrival we were told there’s a 45 minute wait on food which to be fair didn’t feel like it but that’s what you get if it’s so popular. Not disappointed on the food as it was my 1st time piping hot, good serving. Shall be going again most definitely.

User

Went there today for my birthday lunch. First time I had been there to eat and certainly will not be the last! The food was great, service was great and the staff were friendly. The cost for 3 of us with drinks a main and sweet was very reasonable. Well Done to you all! Really looking forward to my next meal there!!!!!

User

Very friendly staff, cozy place and quick service. Good food

User

Tried to get into the new pub over the road but was full so came here so glad we did foods much better and its a real pub not faked like over the road.

Been here twice since very happy with the food and the beer.

User

The hammer & pincers has a very welcoming atmospher, as soon as you enter you are greated by the very friendly staff, and the welcome is further enhanced by the warming open fire. The food. I had the ribs, which really enjoyed, how ever my wife had the steak and kidney pie, which she did not enjoy as much. My only criticism would be the chips, proper chips are far far better than frozen. I would recommend the hammer and pincers to friends and family.

Our 1st visit to this pub..best ever pub we have been to since moving up here 3+yrs ago..an excellent Sunday Carvery..lovely friendly girl doing tables..+ a landlord who knows how to run a good pub..(I know..as worked the pubs for may yrs..in S.E...) Will def go back, don't go out like we use to..so when we do..its nice to know we will now not be..(as in the past around this area!!) disappointed..a def 5+ star..

User

Never had a bad meal here, super portions and friendly quick service. Well worth going. A proper pub rather than these new flat packed 'pubs' that just serve ping food, you know what I'm saying.... Ping! Microwave says it's ready!!!

User

It's a warm, friendly place suitable for everyone & the owners & staff alike are delightful, always very accommodating. The food is always excellent quality, never had any issues, ever! It's superb xx

User

If ever you're in doubt about which side of the road to choose for your food & drink.... Don't be, The Hammer beats the generic "family pub" opposite hands down. Good and decent proper home cooked grub, my liver n bacon with fresh veg was every bit as good as my old nan used to cook !! My wife had lasagne which was plentiful n tasty.

User

I eat at the hammer once a month. No quarrels at all. Good value for money and can never finish the plate. Would recommend to anyone

User

Have been to the hammer and pincers on several occasions over the last month the staff are warm and welcoming the food is excellent and very good value for money and one of the few places that serve fresh veg the chicken curry is the best that i have ever tried this place is a real little gem

User

Had my 60th birthday party here on Saturday 27th of August, the hosts Wayne and Julie were very welcoming, the food was excellent we had the carvery and one person had fish and chips, on which everyone said how much they enjoyed the food.

Would like to say a big thank you to all the staff on making my 60th birthday special.

User

11 of us went for the very first time, after I had lunch there 2 weeks ago, and I suggested the Hammer & Pincers for my friends birthday meal it was fantastic there service was 1st class and the food was excellent, we definitely will be going back there again.Thankyou so much 🍷🍷

User

We go there most weeks and most meals has been good, we tend to stay to the 2 for £12 menu although the fish was not good (out of a box) and the gammon (thin as bacon) is not what my husband would ever have again. All the staff and owners are very welcoming
