The Old Orchard entrance to the Heath, by Athlone House on Hampstead Lane, will be closed for 4 to 6 weeks starting on Monday 3 December.
This is to allow us to carry out some repairs to the nearby stretch of wall. The closest other entrance is via Kenwood, 3 minutes' walk away, close to Compton Avenue.
Sorry for any inconvenience!

very nice area of London. Nice restaurants, shops and bars. The view from the Heath is amazing!

User

Very classy and enjoyable , I love this place, posh, tasty food although pubs & restaurants are very busy, there is a big pub especially for dogs, excellent huge park, highly recommend!!!

User

The perfect place to get away from it all and spend some time with my Granddaughter.

User

Really enjoyed our walk around the heath yesterday, only in london overnight but will deffenatly go next time we are down

User

My first visit and certainly won't be my last. An island of tranquility within a busy metropolis. We are lucky to have the Heath, an absolute gem.

User

My daughter lives next the Heath, a most lovely park and her little dog Evan romps to his heart's content

User

Love it up the top, via parliament hill, can see right across central London and beyond, great walking back down and having lunch in The Juice Bar over the road

User

Love having our morning and sometimes afternoon walks on the Heath can walk for miles and love Kenwood house can literally spend a whole day there as for the view of London from the top ever so beautiful

User

User

Gorgeous, green, charming, best place on earth! I love Hampstead Heath!

User

Excellent outdoor walking area for weekend, good for relaxing and doing nothing, if you are lucky enough, you may enjoy your sunny ☀️ day in London

User

An amazing wooded area in the middle of London. Would be a great place to take kids. Kenwood House is a must see.

User

Absolutely adore Hampstead Heath spent many a summer holiday here as a child, always something happening.....Exploring 'The Giant Strps' to Blackberry picking....Now as an adult I love to escape to the Heath for the tranquility. My favourite place!

User

The best place to breathe in London.

A beautiful chunk of country in the heart of north London.

My only grievance is it's Dog population. Which appears to outnumber the people population on the Heath.

User

Perfect for a nice Summer's day walk. On Sundays Well Walk has free parking. Also there are lots of family friendly pubs so next time I'll leave the car at home and get the 46 bus instead;)

User

Obviously busy. Changing rooms clean, toilets dirty. Lots of space despite hot day. Water clean and so so cold. Lots of happy children and adults.

User

It's a brilliant day out plenty of fresh air and educational and a nice way to get family and friends together it's an experience worth doing my friends and partner and I enjoyed the day out.

User

Hampstead Heath great place to stroll. Sloe berries, Blackberries, Elderberries. Kestrels hunting and an enormous amount of beautiful trees. Views across the city are fabulous from any of the vantage points, parliament Hill especially.

User

I heard that too. If you go to you tube Hampstead children it's mind blowing. It's amazing what's going on in your churches and schools that your completely unaware of. Once this gets out house prices will plummet. Worth investigating something sinister that's happening in your neighbourhood. Frightening.
