Back with another helpful suggestion for over the school holidays... 😊😊 Fancy something a little different?!
How about a 90 minute walk with an alpaca?! Situated over at Boundary, Charnwood Forest Alpacas & Chilli Bean Kitchen is great for those of you wishing to try an activity of a different nature!!
... The Kids will love it!! 🌳☀️👣

Our lovely class instructor Mel is a little under the weather and will be off for 4-6 weeks. Class cover at Herm:
Body Blitz Mondays 6:15pm will be taken by Debbie S P90X 5:25pm tomorrow is cancelled - we are still trying for cover for the following weeks. ... P90X 5pm Wednesdays will be covered by Kate with something similar - her own version. Metafit 6pm on Thursdays will be a HIIT session with Ryan Boxercise 6:30pm on Thursdays is still a work in progress. We have a very helpful instructor trying to move things about.
We understand this is not ideal, however during holiday period it can be difficult to find cover so we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding, thank you to our cover instructor and finally wish Mel a speedy recovery.

If military antiques are your interest then look no further than the Militaria fair that is coming to Hermitage Leisure Centre on Sunday 25 November. For the first time ever, Norfolk Fairs are holding a Militaria show at the leisure centre from 10am-2pm with tickets costing £3.50. There promises to be over 60 stalls selling military medals, badges, books, helmets, uniforms and World War 1 and 2 memorabilia

User

Well, we had to mention it at some point...! The final idea for the children to enjoy this week is our very own glorious OUTDOOR POOL at Hood Park Leisure Centre - Ashby de la Zouch!!! 🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻‍♂️
The kids will get in free with their Club Activ8 points so remember to bring along their card, also why not treat yourself to something from the BBQ or an ice cream! 🍔🍦🌭

User

Please be aware Ryan will be taking Metafit at 6.00pm this evening.
Unfortunately Boxercise at 6.30pm - 7.30pm is cancelled.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused

After 19 years of safeguarding our pool Julie finished her last lifeguard shift today. Wouldn’t be a last shift without a go on the pool inflatable. Thank you Julie for keeping our customers safe and well done on completing the inflatable obstacle without falling off. 😂

Here’s another idea for the little ones to enjoy....
Fruit Picking at Cattows Farm in Heather 🍓🍈🍓
With the soft fruit still picking well, why not have a wander around the fields and pick a nice tasty treat for tea. You could always stop at the cafe for refreshments afterwards... ☕️

Today is National Emoji Day! Can you guess which Emojis our lovely members of staff are impersonating?! 😀😄😍😗🤔😏😴😕🤑

We use HLC on a regular basis for load bearing water based exercise for my disabled wife. It is the only place we know locally that has a disabled changing room and a hoist to get in to the pool. It is an excellent facility for people of all abilities. But there maybe some people that still don't know that the HLC is under threat of closure from the NWLDC to make way for more housing development. If you value HLC get in touch with you local councillor to see where they stand on this. If we do nothing it will be another service taken away from the people of coalville area.

Wanted to compliment Friday's Aqua Tots session.. it is brilliant, not only for baby but for mummy too.

It is a great way to build water confidence, the instructor is very clear, fun and encouraging.

More than happy to recommend this class to anyone.

We could do with more of the Red portable changing tables in the changing room though. But no criticisms here

This is a review of the reception staff. On Tuesday morning last week i needed some help. I used to exercise regularly in classes at Hermitage and have made lovely friendships in doing so. All of the reception staff used to remember my name weekly. This last year has been a huge life challenge with personal medical issues which have now subsided but now with challenges caring for my mum after brain surgery and a stroke, not easy when she lives a 90 minute drive away from me too. With all that going on i havent exercised properly for so long. Anyway the receptionist on Tuesday was lovely, remembered me and helped me beyond my expectation and is very much appreciated. I have failed in remembering her name but you will work out who i am saying thank you to and celebrating her caring attitude to helping a customer while at work. I hope to be back with you regularly in the future. Xxx

I have just been hit by HITT class. Oh my what an intense workout with Claire. Thanks Claire, you've stepped into our lovely Charlotte shoes well and given us a hard but fantastic workout. How you managed to work out with us AND talk/shout at same time I could hardly breathe!!! And an hour later I'm still red face. Looking forward to the new year HITT classes. Thanks Dawn x

I have been going to the Hermitage for a while and I recently started Circuits with Lori, I have to say its the hardest thing I have ever done. But the sense of achievement at the end is great. I will be the fittest I've ever been at this rate :-)

User

Having joined last year terrified of even entering the gym, I now love it. No one makes you feel out of place and the staff are really helpful and friendly.

Great range of classes and fantastic helpful staff and instructors .. only thing I would love to see if some spin bikes in the gym

User

Combat kettlercise tonight was great. Me and Luke have both been killed off. Excellent instructor. Can't thank Debbie S enough for her motivation and support throughout the classes she does (Clubbercise on a friday). We can't wait till next Monday.

User

lovely place , enjoying it getting my strengh back and will procced and hopefully get my full health back

User

Only thing wasn't told you needed old £1 coins for the lockers when paying as it was my first time using the pool

User

Love this place but last night wasn't a good experience firstly I wasn't aloud to use the sauna because I wasn't a member even though I have been in the past the changing rooms were fine as always but I popped to the ladies and it was disgusting it smelt so strong of urine such a shame apart form that a pleasant swim

User

Took my children swimming here today, the toilets in the changing area smelt so horrendous! The lane divides were taking up over half the pool. Except those swimming in the lanes had far more space than the part of the pool allocated to families with children. There was two people lane swimming and so many families in the smaller part of the pool that if your children had armbands on they had practically no where to go due to not being allowed past the half way point. The lifeguard was rude, the dolphin slide was closed as the smallest area I have ever seen was sectioned off for a swimming lesson! Really poor.

User

Staff and general facilities good. Use gym regularly it's good.

But, no cold shower in health suite... been out of action for at least two weeks.

Showers in gents changing area (pool side) no temperature control

Floors dirty in changing area.

Maintenance poor, seems to take forever to correct faults.

My two children were celebrating their 8th and 10th birthday so I contacted the centre to book a pool party. I was told I could have up to 40 children but if any of them are under 8 OR unable to swim a length they would need an adult in the pool. I was told that one adult to two children would suffice. I booked the party as they kids got exclusive use of the pool with an inflatable island and floats there to use.

I tried to contact the pool a number of times to confirm details and food arrangements to be told that all was sorted and all I needed to do was arrive.

We arrived today and got changed to swim. All the children had to prove that they could swim a length or they wouldn't be allowed on the inflatable. This meant that both my children weren't allowed on the inflatable. Despite having an adult with them and despite it being their birthday. This is ridiculous. Even the life guards said that this happens all the time and they are sick of it.

The staff were helpful and the duty manager tried to do what he could for my children however they were still not allowed to take full part on the inflatable even though the party was for them.

After the party we were put in a room to have food. There were 15 children and the food bill was £48, for this they were served 3 pizzas to share, a tray of chip and some juice.

Needless to say the kids were very disappointed and I am left feeling like the experience is a total waste of money. My. Children weren't allowed to enjoy their party. The toilet facilities were smelly and the food was a joke for the cost.

The only plus side is that the staff seemed to try to help without authority or success.

User

Life guard staff manning kids pool parties could do with learning how to speak to children. Two in particular behaved like angry dictators, there really was no need for it. One example I did not appreciate was the jabbing pointy finger followed by "touch it again and you're out, you're dressed and you're gone" a telling off my son got for trying to get under a rope to move out of the way of others using the inflatable. We won't be back.

User

Wasted an hour of my life at Pilates tonight ... just glad I didn’t pay (free trial week offer). No introduction from the instructor, shoved in a cold dirty room with extremely dirty and stinking mats, moves given at one high level, most of the class seemed to be struggling with them but yet he let us carry on for what seemed a life time each move while he sat up drinking Fanta singing to the music that was playing which included an awful lot of swear words for somewhere that is meant to be a professional place. Some of his opinions should have been kept to himself. There was no flow to the class, seemed like he had never done it before. At the end of the class there was no cool down as he had got his shoes and coat on while we were still doing exercises and then he left before we did. How that class is worth £5.75 a time is beyond me. Won’t be returning. Never really rated the services or cleanliness of the leisure centre anyway, pool and changing rooms always looks grubby and stink of urine and the gym is nothing to shout about but this has just topped it off tonight. Don’t know why people pay as much as they do for a monthly membership there.
