We have steam vessel VIC56 visiting us over the weekend, coming up from Chatham, under steam. She is a “Victualling Inshore Craft” built in 1945 in Faversham Kent, as part of the war effort. They were designed as naval supply ships, and for the ...majority of its working life it was based in Scotland, carrying stores and ammunition to all types of naval vessel including the Ark Royal. She was decommissioned in the mid-1970’s and bought for preservation by her current owner and came under her own steam to London.

Hermitage Moorings is organising a floating floral memorial that will be held on what would have been Jo Cox 42nd birthday this Wednesday.
The floating memorial will take place at 3:30pm on Weds 22 June. The Port of London Authority will set up a temporary buoy and exclusion zone where the River Thames runs through Westminster, to allow the boat to be anchored outside of the houses of parliament [subject to permission from the Sergeant at Arms at the Houses of Parliament]. ...A small procession will then be led from Westminster to Trafalgar Square, where a memorial for Jo will be held between 4pm and 5pm.
And, across the world, we will gather together to celebrate Jo’s life, her warmth, love, energy, passion, flair, Yorkshire heritage, and her belief in the humanity of every person in every place, from Batley and Spen to Aleppo and Darayya.
