Tenby Coastguard team recently carried out a training session on immediate descent techniques on our favourite ‘training cliff’ at Lydstep Quarry. We managed not to get caught in the rainstorm but it looked pretty impressive coming our way.

At low tide this afternoon, Tenby coastguard rescue team along with HM Coastguard Llansteffan attended the beach near Monkstone to investigate possible ordnance which had been reported by a member of the public. Upon arrival the coastguard rescue officers located the object on the beach and photographs were sent to Royal Logistic Corp bomb disposal unit for further advice. It was decided that RLC bomb disposal would attend and whilst waiting for their arrival, the CRO’s maintained a cordon around the object. When the bomb disposal team arrived, they examined the object and decided that it was safe to be removed from the beach. The object will now be further analysed by the Royal Logistic Corp explosive ordnance division. All teams then stood down #18-2019

After completion of today’s incident, our flank team at St Govan had a visit from a special lady called Beth. Beth has set herself the challenge of walking around the coastline of Britain raising awareness and money for RNLI, Lowland Rescue and Mountain Rescue. Beth started her walk on Oct 3rd 2018 from Tower lifeboat station and aims to visit at many lifeboat stations on her route as possible. With no support team, Beth is relying on the generosity of others to put her up for the night, or finding bed and breakfast accommodation for herself. Aiming to average about twelve miles a day, she hopes to complete her journey in two years. For tales of Beth’s amazing journey and to donate please go to http://bethfootforward.co.uk/ Good luck with your journey Beth from all at Tenby Coastguard and St Govan coastguard rescue teams
