If you support HMS President 1918 Trust and wish to help us save her PLEASE write to Richard Desmond ex owner of Express Newspapers ASAP who has blocked us mooring the ship at its proposed new mooring at London Bridge. Whilst the trust now has the money to save her and full support from various authorities and planners Mr Desmond’s selfish action ‘I don’t like ships’ will shortly condemn her to scrap. We have one final hurdle to overcome to bring HMS President 1918 back to London Bridge. Richard Desmond owner of Express Newspapers who gave us permission to attach our new gangway to the public walkway he has a lease over at London Bridge and raised money for us has changed his mind for no reason and will not respond to the charities request for ano meeting. There is no other location for our gangway and without this the ship will still be consigned to scrap. Please contact ...Richard to ask him to reconsider and save HMS President and not be the person who condemns her. Friends many of you helped us supporting the restoration of HMS President 1918 one of only 3 WW1 ships left. We have nearly all the funds needed but have one last hurdle to overcome. Richard Desmond owner of Express Newspapers having ran a campaign to raise money for us in the Sunday Express agreed to allow the ships walkway to attach to his land at London Bridge. He has now for no reason changed his mind and we need that access or the ship faces scrappage. Could you email Ri...chard or write to him at The Northern & Shell Building Number 10 Lower Thames Street London EC3R 6EN to ask him to allow the access and support us as he said he would. His email is via his PA allison.racher@express.co.uk Thank you so much!

Dear Friends,
In February the ship made a successful journey down to Chatham in Kent, where she is receiving restoration to her Hull.
The ship was donated, last year, into a preservation charity to preserve the ships future and try to bring her back to Central London.
... Whilst a new mooring has been identified, we are in need of funding for third party contractors to make this a reality.
We have recently launched a JustGiving campaign to raise fund through private and corporate donations.
We are offering incentives for donations for corporate companies so please get in touch if you are interested in donating.
We will be keeping you to date with all the important updates.
In the meantime please share and spread the word, we don't want to lose the last remaining WW1 Ship of London!

This was my first visit aboard HMS President although I have admired it from the River Thames on many an occasion. Blue badge and seagoing WRNS/RN/RNR all came together, as one, for the 100 year celebration and we were wonderfully feted in the Wardroom. The tour at the end of the visit was informative and interesting and will be added to my knowledge of Naval history ready to impress when the time is right. On behalf of those who attended from Essex please accept our grateful thanks for the excellent hospitality shown by the CO, XO and Ship's Company on what was a truly memorable afternoon tea.

The atmosphere on a beautiful sunny day was beautiful. It was fairly quite and found one particular staff very rude and felt a little uncomfortable. Food tasted ok.
