This is the first time we’ve been to Hollywood Bowling since it’s been done up and we’re really impressed with the changes. All the staff that we spoke to were very helpful and we’re looking forward to going back again soon.

I have to say we came to the Hollywood bowl today for the first time since it’s been done up and we had the most amazing family day , the diner is lovely and the food and milkshakes were fantastic !! (Especially the burgers �) My partner even wants to come back just to have dinner again �.. the service was brilliant . Bowling was great, the sofas by the lanes are comfy and you really feel at home , much better then the hard wooden benches a lot of bowling alleys have .. the arcade is amazing so much choice and lots of tickets to be won , one of your member of staff called Robbie really stood out he went above and beyond for us today , really bonded with my 3 year old son who isn’t the most sociable child .. he helped him play the games and showed us how they work , he was just brilliant !! Iv heard you have a team member of the month and I would love to hear he had won it , he really was friendly and helpful ,

All in all we had a brilliant day and will 100% be back !! Thank you again to all the staff for making today so special for us ��

Had my son's birthday party here on Thursday after school using the online kids bowl, eat and drink for £7.09 online offer. Kids had an absolutely fantastic time and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Thoroughly enjoy ourselves every time we come �

It was fine for the kids they loved it. But. Every time we had to.use the ball frame for the kids people just kept taking ours ,wouldn't have minded but they don't even ask . So more frames one each aisle would be much better. Get more staff. Hated waiting 20mins for a cup of tea..

Bowling all good and straightforward, food good but took 45 mins ( we were advised of this when we ordered). Ticket machine in arcade was full and took nearly half an hour to put right so good job we weren't in a hurry! Good experience overall:-)

There just wasn't enough staff on!!....had to wait ages to get drinks. It was a league bowling night plus the kids are on holiday so surely you would staff it properly on a busy Friday night!!!!

My Daughters 8th birthday shambles!

The kids loved the bowling but one ally kept breaking. The girl helping our party was lovely but totally unsupported by management. Massive mess up with the food, I was even waitressing to help but the food wasn't ready and the party had 10min to go! No one wanted to help it take responsibility. Offered free ice-cream bit this didn't arrive until 10min past the end if the party and all but 3children had been collected! Very very stressful and the party cost nearly £300!!!!!!!!!!! Terrible!

Wow what a shame we wasted our time and money here the poor staff at this place are so OVERWORKED and under appreciated I booked a lane for 2.30pm didn’t play until 3pm then get told we had pre-ordered food that there was an hour wait when we got the food it was cold and not very nice with our meal we should of got drinks never did so went up to bar and asked them I got told I can’t push in the MASSIVE queue and would have to join the back of it NOT HAPPY and will not be coming back !!!!!

Wouldn’t give even 1 star. Went there today for the family fun day. What a joke. Staff telling me how dreadful working there is. No staff for face painting, no mascots and no one knew about the treasure hunt. Took 30 mins to queue for drinks then the slush machine didn’t work,nothing’s changed even after the refurb. How are they still getting it so wrong!!!

We went here last week for my daughters 9th birthday.. we booked online and thought we would get the family platter to..

well we waited over an hour for it and then see it sitting in the kitchen side.. no1 was there to bring it to us.. we was told we would get a refund..I've been ringing and even visiting the store to get my refund I was told I would get in 3days.

The place was filthy too.. they need more staff , cleaners and waiters.. still waiting

Our food service was slow the staff were to busy being silly taking down Christmas decorations and putting them on their heads to bother with any customers . When it came to our actual game of bowling our game froze and wouldn't reset up our pins after calling the bell and being ignored the little girl I nanny who is 9 years old went and asked a member of staff for some help to which she got a very blunt response of "maintenance is on its way"

After waiting 20 minutes and no further help and our lane still not working we decided to leave !

The Manager is a vile person ! A glass exploded on the counter after coming out of the dishwasher and my 3 year old son got covered in glass.. the girl was so apologetic and there were plenty of witnesses.. if someone had been standing there at counter height God forbid... but the manager refused to fill out an incident report and threatened to remove my 62 year old mother as she called him an arsehol .. my son was hysterical! In the end he tried to say the cctv showed a glass falling on the floor! It did NOT it exploded the girl at the bar came running round when it happened apologising saying it happens alot.. And a regular customer expressed the same thing! And then he brought me out an an accident form!! A staff one! He needs to be removed the knob! Oh yes and the food was terrible.. everything i tried to order they hadn't got ! There are three desserts to choose from 2 of which are icecream .. no fudge cake and no chocolate ice cream ! Sort this shit hole out

Really disappointed. Although we visited around 8 pm (so arguably after the school holiday rush) it was incredibly disorganised. I ordered food over the internet as part of a package. When I got there I was told the kitchen was shut but they would cook our food (4 burgers and chips). We were then told at the bar area that the food would take 45 mins despite knowing we were arriving at 8 pm! There was limited staff and the one girl who was on the floor (ie not on reception or behind the bar) spent most of her time talking to members of the bowling club! This meant tables were left with dirty plates, tables not wiped etc. Toilets were equally dirty and two without toilet paper! I will not be returning in a rush.

Lift wasn't working so was unable to get one of the Children Upstairs due to being in a wheelchair.

The manager 'Gary' could not of cared any less! His attitude was appalling.

His words to me were 'what do you want me to do, get my magic wand out?'

when asked for a refund he said he could t give us one due to us booking online, and we had to sort it out ourselves with head office, I asked him to contact head office there and then and he said he doesn't have a phone to call them and he wasn't my maid!!!!

Thank u Gary for upsetting the 4 children that we had paid for to do bowling at Hollywood Bowl!

Since changing to Hollywood bowl from good old local Charrington bowl it has become simply money grabbing.

The food and bar service remains shocking but at least your staff are friendly.

Apparently this isn’t the first time looking back on reviews how badly this place is run.

Understandably there was a 2 hour wait for bowling which wasn’t a problem at all. Sat down to get food after what seemed like a game of jumanji to actually get to a clean (clean meaning one where I didn’t have to pick half eaten sweets that were stuck to the surface) table, then waited 10 minutes to speak to the only member of bar staff who seemed beyond happy to be there.... asked twice for a food menu to which he grunted at me and then pointed towards a pile of wet & sticky drinks menus. Waited a further 5 minutes so I didn’t have to interrupt his miserableness where he again pointed to another pile of menus. Despite telling me there and then that they had closed the kitchen because they had ‘staffing issues’ I waited a further 15 minutes to order food which was no more. No apology.

I then asked another member of staff if I could speak with a manager who obviously couldn’t be located as no one seemed to have a clue what planet they were on let alone know what they were doing.

So disappointing & won’t be coming back again.

A glass exploded on the counter after coming out of the dishwasher and my 3 year old son got covered in glass.. the girl was so apologetic and there were plenty of witnesses.. if someone had been standing there at counter height God forbid... but the manager refused to fill out an incident report and threatened to remove my 62 year old mother as she called him an arsehol .. my son was hysterical! In the end he tried to say the cctv showed a glass falling on the floor! It did NOT it exploded the girl at the bar came running round when it happened apologising saying it happens alot.. And a regular customer expressed the same thing! And then he brought me out an an accident form!! A staff one! He needs to be removed the knob! Oh yes and the food was terrible.. everything i tried to order they hadn't got ! There are three desserts to choose from 2 of which are icecream .. no fudge cake and no chocolate ice cream ! Sort this shit hole out

Really disappointed. Although we visited around 8 pm (so arguably after the school holiday rush) it was incredibly disorganised. I ordered food over the internet as part of a package. When I got there I was told the kitchen was shut but they would cook our food (4 burgers and chips). We were then told at the bar area that the food would take 45 mins despite knowing we were arriving at 8 pm! There was limited staff and the one girl who was on the floor (ie not on reception or behind the bar) spent most of her time talking to members of the bowling club! This meant tables were left with dirty plates, tables not wiped etc. Toilets were equally dirty and two without toilet paper! I will not be returning in a rush.

Lift wasn't working so was unable to get one of the Children Upstairs due to being in a wheelchair.

The manager 'Gary' could not of cared any less! His attitude was appalling.

His words to me were 'what do you want me to do, get my magic wand out?'

when asked for a refund he said he could t give us one due to us booking online, and we had to sort it out ourselves with head office, I asked him to contact head office there and then and he said he doesn't have a phone to call them and he wasn't my maid!!!!

Thank u Gary for upsetting the 4 children that we had paid for to do bowling at Hollywood Bowl!

Since changing to Hollywood bowl from good old local Charrington bowl it has become simply money grabbing.

The food and bar service remains shocking but at least your staff are friendly.

Apparently this isn’t the first time looking back on reviews how badly this place is run.

Understandably there was a 2 hour wait for bowling which wasn’t a problem at all. Sat down to get food after what seemed like a game of jumanji to actually get to a clean (clean meaning one where I didn’t have to pick half eaten sweets that were stuck to the surface) table, then waited 10 minutes to speak to the only member of bar staff who seemed beyond happy to be there.... asked twice for a food menu to which he grunted at me and then pointed towards a pile of wet & sticky drinks menus. Waited a further 5 minutes so I didn’t have to interrupt his miserableness where he again pointed to another pile of menus. Despite telling me there and then that they had closed the kitchen because they had ‘staffing issues’ I waited a further 15 minutes to order food which was no more. No apology.

I then asked another member of staff if I could speak with a manager who obviously couldn’t be located as no one seemed to have a clue what planet they were on let alone know what they were doing.

So disappointing & won’t be coming back again.

Came and had a game of bowling today. The alley kept breaking, the service from staff was a joke they looked at you like you was nothing. Not one member of staff looked like they wanted to be there. Then went to order food waited there over 10 mins and no one even wanted to acknowledge we were standing there waiting to order.

We were also ignored when we first arrived no wonder why it says be there 15 minutes before your time as no one wants to serve you!

Absolutely freezing the air con was continuously switched on after asking numerous times for it to be switched off! It was snowing heavily outside and just generally freezing in there. We were all bowling in jumpers and scarfs! Won’t hurry back in cold weathers!!
