Common sense caregiving tip: when entering an older person's home it’s always good practice to first thank them for having you, and always ask where they would like you to sit. Think of how you feel if someone sits in your regular place (or where your dad sits!) The idea of where you sit may seem small to you, but it can actually make a massive difference! Our elders especially tend to set up a specific chair or sofa for themselves with their glasses, phone, or book nearby. Sometimes it’s set up in a spot where the sun doesn’t get in their eyes, or they feel the most comfortable and can actually be a power position! #OutstandingCare

Our CAREGivers know that past day to day work lives can be a vital source of conversation & yes! we are happy to accompany a client out for a train (or bus!) ride. It’s companionship and care. After being involved with providing Care in peoples own homes for many years, Home Instead Senior Care is like a breath of fresh air. They do their very best to match the Caregiver to the client by collecting as much information from the client and prospective Caregiver as possible. No more rushed 30 minute calls where the Caregiver has not got the time to chat to the client, Only to ask questions such as where do you keep your Tea/Coffee etc.

No more frantic driving between calls for 5/10 minutes travel time when the clients live 10 miles apart.
