What a day of learning! I attended the Instaglam course and the knowledge that I learnt is invaluable. David is amazing and is more than happy to break things down and really explain each process. I feel so much more happier with applying a heavier application and playing with colours that would frighten me. Thanks so much to House of Glam Dolls and David. Loved every minute �

Well. What can I say about House of GlamDolls...? It is both satisfying and fulfilling but totally addictive and leaves you wanting more! David is a make up wizard who had us all under his spell. When he talks - you want to listen. He is so compelling, engaging and knowledgeable that we could have sat there for hours in some hypnotic trance listening to him. He has a gift whereby you feel like everything he is telling you is a special inside secret that has never been told. Each time he teaches you something new it is as though he is saying it for the first time as it is always with such passion and vigour and it is so intoxicating!



The minute you walk through the door you instantly feel inspired and as though you are somewhere very exclusive away from the rest of the world - it is so warm and welcoming and you immediately feel like you are part of a little family. It's real and it's genuine - no question is a stupid question - you are not judged.



The relationship between David & Chinyee is so lovely and I have never met two people so nice and so genuine. You can tell that both of them have the same end goal which is to teach, encourage and inspire with no hidden agenda. They actually really give a damn which is what sets them worlds apart from any other make up school. What they don't know about make up and creativity ain't worth knowing!



Go and see for yourself. You have been warned...you will be "Horned" ;o) I am already booked to come back in May - so excited!

I've just completed the 8 day Sunday course and loved every single minute of it!



The class sizes are small which I found to be perfect as it meant that the course structure, whilst still teaching the core skills, could be tailored more specifically to the needs of both the group and the individuals within it.



David is an amazing teacher and with so much experience, is an all knowing guru of the industry. His product and skill knowledge is quite unbelievable actually! What made me realize this more than anything is that people of all skill levels and experience come to him to train and learn. And regardless of whether you have had 10 years in the makeup industry or none what so ever, he has this ability to breakdown exactly what it is you need, teach you the skill and leave you feeling incredibly confident with what you've learnt.



Chinyee is so lovely and welcoming. She makes everything so incredibly easy and is always there to answer any questions you might have and offer you guidance from a business perspective.



Finally, I feel like I need to mention the wonderland that is the Glamdolls studio! It is a makeup lovers dream! Filled with every imaginable product, brush, shade of glitter, red lipstick and the most incredible wall of sugar, it's the perfect environment to learn and play in.



I can't recommend this course enough and I know I'll definitely be back in the future for some more!

I had so much fun and learnt a lot. The course is delivered with a laid back approach and time is taken to answer questions and focus on areas where the students want further help.



At the end of the course I didn’t want to leave, I’m sure they wanted to get shot of me so they could clean up the magical studio.... one little tip, if you are makeup junkie this is your true heaven. Every makeup brand you can think off and many little cubby holes with glitters, powders and lipsticks everywhere. Not mention the amazing amount of brushes to test out, play with and just generally swoon over.



Through-out the course, makeup techniques, go to products and brands where discussed, along with how to navigate the world of makeup shopping to not waste your well earned profits.

I now know what Daniel LaRusso must have felt when he learned true Karate from Mr Miyagi. He taught him the secret to Karate lies in the mind and heart. Not in the hands. As with the House of Glam Dolls. David Horne is a master of his craft and teaches the fundamental aspects of this medium with ease. Even to novice makeup artists like myself. His wealth of experience, knowledge of the industry and great sense of humour making you feel at ease. The well taught theory aspect allowed me to have the underpinning knowledge that helped beautifully when undertaking the more practical aspects of the class. Those things I was less confident about, were clearer and more focused for me. Not only was David a patient, helpful and engaging teacher. His colleagues were also fantastic. Huge thank you to Josh for all your help, knowledge, advice/guidance and for being a great House Elf ;) and many thanks to Chinyee for all the support. As an artist - the fact that this course it taught as an art class enables you to connect with the type of MUA you want to be. I enjoyed every minute and will return for future classes.

I have recently completed the 8 day makeup artistry course, i love every second of it, David’s teaching style and and experience in the industry has helped me achieve things I didn’t think was possible and has turned something I have only dreamed about into a reality. I would recommend to anyone wanted to start out in make up or sharpen existing skills. I will definitely be attending more courses to further my abilities. Thank you Glam Dolls!

I have just had an amazing 3 days at house of glamdolls, the best makeup course I have ever been on! David, chinyee and 'the night manager' made me feel so welcome.

The school is like a makeup wonderland with wall to wall products to experiment with. I have learned new skills, techniques, used new products and had fabulous mentoring. It was hilarity and learning all rolled into one. Definitely money well spent and very affordable. I think house of glamdolls should come on a road trip to Scotland �

I have just completed the 8 day intensive course and it was fabulous, it far exceeded my expectations. I researched courses extensively before deciding on this one, which stood out due to David’s extensive, successful career in the beauty industry and numerous contacts, as well as the balance of practical and theoretical course content. I also found when talking to my colleagues at work most of them new David and couldn’t speak highly enough of his skill level and experience.



I enjoyed every single minute of the course, David has a style of teaching that is engaging, informative all mixed up with a good dose of humour and fun, my only complaint is that the time goes so quickly!!! Chinyee is lovely, friendly, and always responds quickly to any queries or requests for info. The groups are small and everyone is given the same amount of guidance and advice when completing the practical elements of the course. I would highly recommend the school to anyone regardless of their skill level, David ensures everyone is supported and given the right advice whilst maintaining and building their confidence (he even managed to put up with my obsession for all things glitter and shine!!!).



Finally, the studio is a fabulous environment to learn in, there is every product imaginable, purely based on the best products, rather than being affiliated to one specific brand. I could go on and on with this review, safe to say I will definitely be back for more courses in the future. Thank you for a brilliant experience.

I have just completed the 2 day bridal beauty course with David. His personality in my opinion is why he has sooo many 5 star reviews...He is such a legend to start with!!!! His personality aside, he teaches in such an effortless way, he is so easy to listen to and I learned so much from my 2 days. If you want to progress in the world of bridal make up this is a brilliant course, from the marketing and website ideas to product knowledge and make up techniques I would highly recommend this course. Hopefully I'll get over for more great courses in the near future xx

I had the best time with David, Chin and Josh! I took the Introduction to Makeup Artistry, Smoky Eyes, and Bridal Makeup courses and let me tell you that what I learned was invaluable! The theory was absolutely excellent and I learned tried and tested methods of applying makeup that was brilliant! Why spend any time at all making mistakes and wondering and just invest in education that will set you apart from your competition. That is exaxtly what you will get at House of Glam Dolls. I had researched so many courses and I'm so glad I decided to do a bespoke 1-2-1 course with David.David is a magical and brilliant teacher. Its hard to put in to words what a difference this course has made.the ladder system as well as all the products created at the HOGD are invaluable. I felt that I can learn make up and it isn't a secret for a select few! David's extensive experience shows through in the ideas he shares creatively and also in how to deal with people. The space is wonderful and conducive to learning too. I feel so much more confident in my abilities and to pursue make up artistRy as a career than I did before the course. I would definitely go back and do more (i didn't want to leave really) courses in future. I would be surprised if you could find a system of learning or teacher better at a different school. I woke up the next day thinking of all the editorial looks I could create; I don't feel scared or blocked creatively anymore. I'll never forget the "ruddy blusher" or unsee crack fox! I had a 1:1 class with David and could not be happier with the session! The session was tailored to what I wanted to learn. I learnt about applying my foundation, what look is best for my eyes, eyebrows, contouring and lips! I would totally recommend this. I even came home and tried it all myself and was surprised that it actually went well! Fabulous class and will certainly be booked more classes

I attended the 8 week professional makeup artistry course. I would have to say that this was the best choice I ever made.



David Horne and Chinyee Chu have made the journey from me being a complete notice to doing a glam look possible. They both work so well so ensure that the students have the best learning experience possible.



David is extremely passionate in teaching and gives his honest insight to the industry. Throughout the 8 week David taught us technical skills, so by the end of 8 weeks we were able to do advanced makeup. Chinyee is extremely helpful and deals with the administrative side ensuring that we have all the possible information we need.



Overall I would recommend this school, and I would be returning to the school again in the future x

House of GlamDolls was one of the best experiences of my life. I came from America for this school and it was the best thing I’ve done for my career. House of GlamDolls provides you with the perfect creative working space. Being able to work with multiple brands and types of makeup from all over the world allows you experiment, play, and figure out what works best for you as an artist. The classes are small enough so that you get individualized attention but not too small that you feel like you’re being watched all the time. David is the perfect teacher and mentor for any makeup artist at any level. After about 15 mins, David probably has you figured out and knows not only how to bring out the best makeup artist in you, but the best person as well. David and Chinyee are the perfect team and make your time at House of GlamDolls unforgettable. I’m already saving up for my next trip back!

Have competed the 3 days intro and 3 days mastering eyes course and went in with absolutely no knowledge of makeup and have leaned sooo much both theoretically and practically! The classes are amazing: David implements in depth theory, practical exercises and tutorials, industry secrets and what goes on in the beauty industry worldwide, his knowledge and curriculum are immense! The workspace is an absolute gem, a makeup artist heaven where you could wonder around for hours! David teaches the necessary skills that a current makeup artist needs avoiding all the irrelevant techniques that have saturated the industry today. Whether you are already a makeup artist or just starting up, these courses are going to charge you with confidence and practical knowledge, there's nothing he can't teach you or answer! Even though I graduated from 2 year HND diploma in hair and makeup, few short courses and have been doing makeup for more than 5 years now, in some areas I still felt not as strong as I should have. I found out about night classes at House of Glam Dolls and decided to give it a try. I went for the package of all 6 classes. What a discovery! I was blown away by how many things and tricks I've learned but also by how amazing David and Chinyee are. Every class was a true bliss- so much fun and knowledge packed in one evening. I've asked all of the questions I've always wanted to and for the first time ever during my makeup education the answers were clear and straight to the point. David is the most amazing teacher, he has a huge knowledge and is not afraid to share it. What I really like about this school is that there is so many products & tools from different brands and price ranges and it's a great place to try out and compare everything, before deciding what to get for your personal kit. Since the night school I attended few more day courses, including 1920's, 1930's, 1970's, 1980's and instaglam course- from all those days I learned a lot and had a chance to practice and really perfect the things I used to struggle with. In the future I'm definitely planing to go for more classes. Thanks to House of Glam Dolls I attended few master classes organised by different brands and enjoyed a special discount while shopping. This school is great, makes you feel so connected and on top of latest trends. The makeup products you get to use at the school are brilliant.. it is all top quality stuff including their own makeup range, it is insane!
