House of Sverre is a traditional Norwegian Smokehouse in London, producing luxury, handcrafted, sustainable, Cold Smoked Salmon for the discerning connoisseur.

House of Sverre is an artisan way of life for Gunnar Lieungh by a passion for exquisite food, the sea, design, craft and meaningful work; with direct roots and forefathers of a middle aged royal dynasty. King Sverre was born in the Faroe Islands, the home of their salmon and became King of Norway and the Scottish Isles. His rule established a great history of preserved salt-fish trade around Europe.

Gunnar was born to Norwegian parents in Göteborg, and grew up living by the sea in Varberg, on the west coast of Sweden, a sailor and fashion designer.

Nothing excites Gunnar more than the thought of being on his boat in a storm.

Inspired by ancestry and the desire to rekindle a relationship with their native seaside environment in urban London, Gunnar set out to create the finest cold smoked salmon. With an unparalleled dedication to quality, and respect for tradition, to produce a taste, and texture like Norwegian cured meat, “spekemat”, with Scandinavian wood and curing traditions. Combining the rich fabric of traditions and the natural resources of Scandinavia with new innovative thinking they have created a new exciting interaction with a relationship and product that people think they already understand; that today forms an important pillar in the New Nordic Kitchen.
